Tumours caused by professional exposition of chemical, physical and biological factors
Korček, Jozef ; Kneidlová, Monika (advisor)
Tumours caused by professional exposition of chemical, physical and biological factors in Czech Republic in the timeframe from 1996 to 2008 are on a descending curve. Majority of patiens are men. Ionisation energy and radiation was the prime factor among physical factors; coke production gases and aromatic nitro or amino compounds were the leading factors among chemici factors. The influence of biological factors was insignificant. Ionisation energy and radiation and asbestos were the top two causes of tumours which arose from professional exposition to said risk factors. The most common tumour encountered int his timeframe was a tumour of bronchi or lung, followed by mesotheliomas of peritoneum and pleura. According to industrial classification, vast majority of over 70% tumours caused by professional exposition occured within the scope of mining, metallurgy and succeeding industrial processes dealing with ores and thein processing.

The implementation of folksonomy into user interfaces of information and library systems, presented upon an example of the project of Uniform Information Gateway of the Czech Republic
Němečková, Lenka ; Pokorný, Jan (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Klára (referee)
This thesis introduces two core principles of Web 2.0 - folksonomy and social tagging, as new and alternative means of subject classification, their current applications and potential within information and library systems. Such principles bring up powerful extensions to current subject classification and information retrieval practices. Furthermore it brings up much more enhanced user-friendly interface and retrieval engine efficiency and effectiveness. The particular concept is based on the implementation of these principles into Uniform Information Gateway, one of the most important scientific information resources in the Czech Republic. However the architecture of the system is very unique in compare to common online library catalogues it does not restrict the potential of the implementation of folksonomy and tagging. The intended feature is to introduce secondary parallel subject classification system, which does not limit the current classification practices, and brings up new added value in terms of terminology evolution and users' needs observation. Besides the Uniform Information Gateway, there are many more alternatives with the potential of the implementation of folksonomy tagging, e.g. subject information gateways as parts of the Uniform Information Gateway project, or university information systems.

Sleep stage classification based on HRV signals
Schlorová, Hana ; Kubičková, Alena (referee) ; Kozumplík, Jiří (advisor)
The most common method for scoring of sleep stages is the evaluation by EEG. This work utilizes ECG signal to the comparable evaluation of sleep. It summarizes the methods of presentation and assessment of heart rate variability (HRV) and describes the whole algorithm of calculation and presentation of this signal using Lorenz plot. This work also focuses on evaluation of Lorentz plots and parametrs quantifying variability of samples in maps. It seeks to draw the conclusion of sleep stages from their waveform.

Private-law limitations of the freedom of expression in media with respect to the case-law: comparative study of the Czech and German legal regulation
Kočicová, Věra ; Šustek, Petr (advisor) ; Hendrychová, Michaela (referee)
The purpose of my thesis is to analyse private law limitations of freedom of expression in media with respect to case-law. The study focuses on the limitations of freedom of expression in relation to natural persons. Since the aim of the study is to compare the Czech and German legal regulation, particular emphasis is put on the comparative method. I tried to evaluate legal regulations in both countries, to what extent they overlap, what they have in common and what they differ in, or alternatively to what degree they can inspire each other. Besides introduction and conclusion, the study consists of four chapters. The first chapter is subdivided into two parts. Part one describes media, their basic definition and characteristics, as well as their role and function in the jurisprudence. Part two deals with the definition, constitutional protection and classification of the "communication" fundamental rights and freedoms - freedom of expression, right to information and freedom of the press (media). Chapter two focuses on the protection of personal rights in the media context. Part one examines their importance and constitutional protection, part two describes specific individual personal rights, and part three illustrates the postmortal protection of personal rights. Chapter three presents the...

Value added tax from the point of view of Czech and Community law
Procházka, Ondřej ; Kohajda, Michael (referee) ; Boháč, Radim (advisor)
Value Added Tax in EC and Czech Tax Law Since 1950s, tax systems of jurisdictions around the world have undergone a revolutionary change, marked by the proliferation of value added tax. The pioneering jurisdiction in this respect has been the supranational European Economic Community, known as the European Community since 1992. Its common system of VAT has set out an example of an invoice based, credit substraction VAT which has since become a model for developed and deve- loping countries alike. In the Czech Republic, VAT was introduced in 1992 under strong EC influence, as part of a far-reaching tax reform aiming at adapting the tax system to the needs of market economy. As of May 1, 2004, Czech Republic joined the EC and became part of the common system. In this work, we first provide a general overview of the VAT. We identify its key characteristics and use classification to discuss the pros and cons of the invoice based credit substraction system. We review the VAT from the fiscal policy perspective and apply the criterions of sound tax design to explain the reasoning behind its popularity. Next, we explore in depth the development of common system of VAT in the EC. We discuss the reasoning behind its introduction, the economic and legal circumstances of its adoption and further development. We deem that...

Nutritional support for cancer patients
Petrovová, Hana ; Těšínský, Pavel (advisor)
According to the report of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics , published in 2007 which processes the results of 2005 , the incidence of malignant neoplasms in the Czech Republic in the long term increasing incidence . The most common Malignant tumors are basal cell carcinoma , although mostly for its specificity from other classifications set aside . Of the more serious diagnoses are among the most frequent malignancy colorectal neoplasm , trachea and lung cancer in women and in men the prostate. In 2005 in the Czech Republic reported over seventy thousand malignant neoplasms and neoplasms in situ (1) . Weight loss may be as the first sign of malignant disease and may occur later in the course . frequency weighting loss and malnutrition occurs in 31-78 % of oncology patients Depending on the location, type and stage of the disease . The most commonly occurs in gastrointestinal cancer and lung cancer ( 2 ) . For some patients as a result cancer develops cachexia. Causes of weight loss in cancer patients are numerous and Currently , it is clear that far yet know all . Generally causes divided into three major groups : physiological disorders caused by abnormalities interactions tumor - host ( changes in metabolism , anorexia) and finally consequences anticancer treatments ( both chemo - Radio...

Crystal chemistry of micas from České středohoří
Goll, Jan ; Skála, Roman (advisor) ; Ulrych, Jaromír (referee)
Six methods have been used to study micas from České středohoří mts.: X-ray difractometry (transmission and reflection), ICP MS, electron microprobe, Mössbauer spectroscopy and termogravimetry. The measurements of trace elements and REE's revealed very low tendency by normalization on chondrite reservoir and primitive mantle. Micas show high contents of TiO2 (9,47 wt.%) and BaO (up to 2,1 wt.%) in separated grains from rock. The micas classifications were determined by Tischendorf (2007) and Rieder (1998) as Fe-phlogopites. X-ray powder diffraction revealed cell dimensions and a common polytype 1M with space group C2/m. By Mössbauer spectroscopy have been studied the rates of Fe2+ /Fe3+ and they were 1,08 - 1,86 (except rock sample, which were 9:1). Termogravimetrical measurement until 1450řC revealed weight jump from 1120řC to 1270řC.

Practical application of ICF
SVĚCENÁ, Kateřina
The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is a tool that could help improve the coordination between health and social services. This classification will help with communication as a common language in interprofessional rehabilitation team. The research objective of our thesis is to investigate the practical applicability of ICF in health and social services in the field of regulations governing entitlement to "special aids", i.e. Act No. 329/2011 and Decree No. 388/2011, as amended.

Conversational Markers in Rioplatense Spanish.
ŠMÍDOVÁ, Markéta
The core of this bachelor's thesis is the concept of discursive and conversational markers in Rioplatense Spanish. Initially, the difference between discursive and conversational markers and their classification is explained. Thereafter, the author defines the term Rioplatense Spanish and enumerates the most common conversational markers for this variant of Spanish. The expression che has been elected as a prototype and its use is investigated theoretically and practically in this work. The author speaks about its etymology and systematic classification and the conclusions deduced previously are illustrated with examples that have been taken down from Argentinian soap operas. The secondary investigation is focused on the connection of the frequency of use of che with different social and age categories.

Characters with mental disabilities in czech cinematography 1993 - 2007
Mištová, Jaroslava ; POZZI, Jaroslav (advisor) ; MRAVCOVÁ, Marie (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes the changes in society's view of people with mental disabilities in recent centuries at first, then it is approaching the meanings of the words „mental handicap“ and briefly explains the various classifications of these handicaps. I also work with concept of characters with mental disabilities in Czech cinematography 1993 - 2007. To detect negative stereotypes about people with mental disabilities in the Czech films I use analysis of specific films of that time period. And at the end I find the most common negative stereotypes in these films. One of the most common negative stereotype is the presentation of death - or any form of destruction, silencing, or imprisonment - a character with mental disabilities, as the only possible solution for the character with mental disabilities and society too.
