Mate choice unter the influence of hormonal contraception: impact on partnership stability and quality
Londinová, Markéta ; Klapilová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Konečná, Martina (referee)
Previous studies have pointed out an interesting fact: the use of hormonal contraceptives modifies the partner preferences of women towards men more feminine and genetically less compatible. This master thesis first tried to experimentally verify whether these different preferences are reflected in real mate choice outside the context of the laboratory. It includes two studies comparing partner satisfaction and relationship dynamics in couples that have been formed under the influence of pills versus under the influence of the natural menstrual cycle. Study 1 includes 3116 mothers and was conducted through an online questionnaire. The second study collected representative data from 1605 Czech men and women aged 35 to 65 years representing the population of the CZ also through a hand-to- hand questionnaire. Study 1 confirmed the assumption in several ways: hormonal contraception users (during the mate choice) assessed their partners as less attractive and masculine compared with women who naturally cycled at that time. We also found their sexual satisfaction was reduced, however, they were more satisfied with non-sexual aspects of the relationship. In contrast to established hypotheses Study 1 found that the partnerships formed under the influence of hormonal contraceptives separated significantly...

Rizika tromboembolického onemocnění u žen
BÁRTOVÁ, Marie
Thromboembolic disease is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases which includes deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It is affected by genetic and acquired factors. The major risks of thromboembolic disease for women include inherited hypercoagulable states, pregnancy, repeated abortions or using hormonal contraception. The first part of the thesis is focused on prevalence of thrombophilic states mutation FV Leiden and mutation G20210A prothrombin among women patients in hospital in České Budějovice a.s. in 2015. The second part of the thesis is focused on the knowledge of the risks of the thromboembolic disease among the women who use or used hormonal contraceptive.
Hypercoagulable states and the effect of hormonal contraception.
ČERNÁ, Iva
Venous thrombosis is a multifactorial disease frequently related to the interaction of genetic and acquired factors. The inherited thrombophilia does not always appear, but in certain situations can be life threatening. This danger is especially for women who use hormonal contraception or plan to become pregnant. This work focuses on the frequency occurrence of factor V Leiden and prothrombin G20210A mutations by patients in a hospital of Česke Budějovice. Acquired frequencies are compared with the values given in the literature. Another point of the study is devoted to the examination of women before prescribing contraception. It is evident from the acquired data that gynecologists do not investigate women so completely and there is potentially possible leakage of women affected by inherited thrombophilia.
Media as a key tool of advertising hormonal contraception
MAŠTEROVÁ, Martina
Bachelor's labor on the subject "Media as a key tool of advertising hormonal contraception" is designed as a theoretical labor, which prepares background for future studies. In the first part of my bachelor's labor, I'll describe the significance of today's media in society, I define the term advertisement and its elements affecting the human brain. After that I introduce the product hormonal contraception, types of hormonal contraception and its positive or negative influence on human's health. In the second part, I'll be looking into survey of presenting hormonal contraception in following medias magazines, newspapers, internet sources and television programs. This bachelor's labor can be used as an information material for students, adolescent girls and women, and also as a supportive material, which can be used for future research labor.
The Issue of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care among Young People
BŘEZKOVÁ, Markéta
The dissertation is focused on the issue of contraception and reproductive health of young people. I therefore chose this topic of my dissertation because it interests me and it is also very current topic. I have specified the research in various types of secondary schools in Cesky Krumlov. The main aim of my dissertation was to map the knowledge of hormonal contraception and proven possible differences in sexual self behaviour in adolescent girls attending different high schools in Cesky Krumlov. The research was conducted using anonymous questionnaires that were distributed to girls aged 17 to 19 years. For my dissertation, I set four hypotheses that have been statistically confirmed. The results were interesting and there had been statistically significant differences in the level of knowledge about the risks of hormonal contraception among female students of Secondary Schools and other female students of Health Secondary Schools. In addition, the Vocational School students begin sexual life before other students of Secondary schools. Also the most common method of protection at first sexual intercourse is condom, but the most preferred contraceptives in adolescent girls, regardless of the type school studied, is hormonal contraception. According to the responses of girls we can see the differences in their own sexual behaviour, which is, in most cases conscientiously. Girls, however, are not sufficiently informed about hormonal contraception they use. I would advise to bring more lectures into schools about the positives and risks of hormonal contraception in general and also about all contraceptive options.
The attitudes of women towards hormonal contraception
BRABCOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor´s paper focuses on mapping the women´s attitudes to hormonal contraception. The so called "family planning" is one of the basic human rights. It means that the couple is allowed to decide about the number of children and time of their birth. The phenomenon of negative family planning is connected with the issue when the couple does not wish to have children and chooses the contraception method. Hormonal contraception is one of the most expanded and the most reliable device to regulate natality. The introduction of this paper is divided into several theoretical chapters. The first of them is dedicated to the origin of contraception and afterwards, it describes the history of hormonal contraception. Other chapters concentrate on the concrete combined hormonal contraceptive and progestogen contraception. The conclusion of theoretical part is dedicated to the education. First, the attention is focused on general education, then on the education of women led by a midwife. The practical part of this bachelor´s paper occupies with the women´s attitudes towards contraception based on the questionnaire within the quantitative research. First, the goals were set. The main goal was to learn which method of contraception the women of three different age categories prefer. Partial goal 1 was to map if the education influence the usage of contraception. Partial goal 2 was to learn about the factors that helped the women to choose contraception. Partial goal 3 was to find out if the women detected any changes. Partial goal 4 was to find out if the users of hormonal contraception also use different kinds of contraception. Partial goal 5 was to discover if the women smokers know about the danger of thrombosis that is connected with smoking while using hormonal contraception, and if they use this method. The questions were set on the basis of the aims.
Women's knowledge of benefits and risks of hormonal contraception
NOVÁKOVÁ, Lucie
This thesis deals with finding the knowledge of girls and women on hormonal contraception, its benefits and risks. Contraception is the most common form of family planning in its negative sense. One of the most reliable methods of hormonal contraception, which currently has many forms and is distributed to a large number of manufacturers. Introductory, theoretical part is divided into several subsections, where the first is devoted to the history of contraception from antiquity to the present, and how gradually developed and perfected its methods. There are described the prerequisites for the selection of contraceptive methods, and one of the sections is focused to the evaluation of their reliability with Pearl index. Forms of contraception are initially divided into hormonal and non-hormonal. The non-hormonal methods are only briefly described its various forms, like natural, barrier, IUD and sterilization. There are mentioned some non-specific methods which have time to time found their followers. Hormonal contraception methods are deeply described. Progestogen contraception is divided for chapters about mini pills, depot injections, subcutaneous implants, as well as the beneficial effects of these forms and their potential risks. Another chapters are devoted to intrauterine system and postcoital contraception, again including their benefits and risks. Combined hormonal contraceptives, which is essentially the most frequently used method for protection against pregnancy is divided into individual subsections by the application method. These are the oral form, a transdermal patch and vaginal ring NuvaRing. Custom chapter is also devoted to the benefits and risks. At the end of the theoretical part describes the education that focuses on the lessons for girls and women about contraception from midwife. In the second part of the thesis was conducted by using qualitative research interviews. Prior to its launch were given three objectives (Objective 1: To determine the knowledge of girls 2nd year of Secondary Medical School about the benefits and risks of hormonal contraception. Objective 2: To determine knowledge about the benefits and risks of hormonal contraception in women of childbearing age who have already given birth. Objective 3: Compare the level of knowledge of hormonal contraception in girls 2nd year secondary nursing schools and in women of childbearing age who have already given birth.). To verify the research, qualitative questions were used, and data collection was carried out by using structured interviews. Interviews were conducted with eight female respondents, of which four were students of secondary medical school and four women in fertile age who have already given birth. The results were presented to chart and diagrams. In the next part, the discussion was led above the obtained results. The girls from the first group had a generally knowledge of both hormonal contraception and about its benefits and risks. Women in fertile age had a little more knowledge, but even so, there were several shortcomings in the responses, especially when taking into account of their experience. When comparing the two groups with each other in many ways are more informed respondents from the group of women after childbirth, but these differences are not so significant. In the end of the thesis the targets are evaluated. Since knowledge of girls and women on hormonal contraception, including its benefits and risks have been evaluated on generally only, there is need to intensify education on this topic. Particulary in sex education in secondary school or in gynaecological surgery by midwife. This will offer topics appropriate for some of the other surveys, such as mapping content of education girls and women about contraception from midwife.
THE INFLUENCE OF RELIGION ON METHODS OF VOLUNTARY PARENT.
HLOUCH, Vojtěch
I have chosen the subject of my thesis {--} The influence of religion on methods of voluntary parent. One of the main reasons is my own interest in these issues. I am Catholic and I wanted to reveal other Christians` attitude to contraception. My work is focused on two religions common in the Czech Republic. They are: Catholics of Roman-Catholic Church and Evangelics of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethern. The aim of my work was to discover to what extent are certain religious groups successful in influencing their members when it comes to morals and what attitudes do their confessionists have in their private lives.
