Threepenny Opera in Berlin, Prague and Vienna. The Play by Bertolt Brecht and Its Three Stage Productions

This diploma thesis deals with the theatre play The Threepenny Opera by the German playwright Bertolt Brecht. The first part contains a formal analysis and a content interpretation of this literary work. This analysis is used as a basis for the second part of the thesis, which contains the description and comparison of three stage productions of the play in the theatres in three different European capitals between 2007 and 2011. These theaters are: The Berliner Ensemble, The National Theatre in Prague and The Volkstheater in Vienna.
Using Theatre as a Didactic Tool for History Lessons in the Pays de la Loire Region

Klára Paseková Abstract This thesis describes the advantages of using theater play as a didactic tool for history teaching, with specific examples from the area of Pays de la Loire, France. The special role of school externist in the context of French schools is introduced, as well as the specific place of drama play as a motivational and educational tool in connection with the subject of history. Using the example of the play Mystère sur les quais de Nantes, the usefulness of the theater play for explaining complex history concept is demonstrated. Materials for history teachers include preparation instructions, the play itself and materials for subsequent discussion session with the author Mme Le Fahler and workshop. Further analysis illustrates the specifics of creating a play for the purpose of teaching history. Christmas dramas for children and teenagers in ČCE

The purpose of my diploma thesis Christmas dramas for children and teenagers in ČCE is to find out if authors of Christmas dramas in ČCE work with them as valid parts of catechetical work with children and teenagers. I decided to make analysis of some texts of Christmas theater plays, which are freely distributed in the church. First chapter tries to analyze how children relate to the work on a drama and what are the benefits of this work. Second chapter deals with theory of writing dramas for children and teenagers. Chapter three deals with analysis of two biblical texts Matt 1:18-2:23 and Luke 1:5-2:40 because they are often used as a source for Christmas dramas. Chapter four deals with analysis of three Christmas plays written by members of ČCE for congregations of ČCE. The emphasis is mainly on theological and pedagogical analysis. The conclusion of my analysis is that authors of Christmas dramas in ČCE do not work with them as valid parts of catechetical work. Nina Sadur as a playwright

The thesis deals with dramatic work of a contemporary Russian author Nina Sadur (writing since the mid-eighties). Its object is to present main features of her poetics primarily by interpretation of two selected plays - Morokob and Milenkii, ryzhenkii. The first play could be conceived as a metaphysic drama. Its analysis pays attention to two mutually connected levels - those of and of . The second play is based on an older Sadur's subject transposed from the former novel to a radio play. The thesis is concerned with the shifts of meaning caused by this transposition as well as with a critical discussion issued in 2003 and titled Who Is the Cute Little Redhead? exploring various layers of meaning of the novel/radio play. The next part summarizes the available secondary literature, specifies the focus of scholar interest, contains the essential bibliographic data of the author as well as the chronology of her dramas and it lastly mentions the issue of her subsumption under one of the literary movements appearing in Russia since the end of the seventies.

Language and style of the plays written for Jára Cimrman Theatre This magister thesis deals with language analysis of the stage plays of Jára Cimrman Theatre. The opening chapter describes general information about the theatre and it's authors as well. The thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part is based on results of theoretical studies of different authors, especially Bohuslav Brouk, Henri Bergson, Ladislav Dvorský and Vladimír Borecký. The practical part contains the detailed language analysis of all 15 stage plays. This diploma work analyzes which types of language comic we can find there and how much are they extended. Linguistic performances are separated on the principle of linguistics on individual linguistic branches. This diploma work also discusses mystification as a common framework for realization of all comic means. Comparison of Shifts in the Intersemiotic and Interlingual Translation of Leaving by Václav Havel.

The central focus of this Master's thesis is to describe, explain and classify intersemiotic translation within current translation studies. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the thesis, the theoretical part draws inspiration also from aesthetics, semiotics, adaptation, literary and film studies. Our findings are applied to the empirical material - interlingual and intersemiotic translation of Leaving by Václav Havel. Both translations are thoroughly analysed and the identified shifts are classified into categories primarily inspired by Anton Popovič's model of translation (1975, 1983). Comparison proved that the approach to intersemiotic translations/film adaptations as interlingual translation works. Although, there was a need to create new categories for some shifts in the film adaptation. Based on that, we propose a new model of intersemiotic translation, which could serve as inspiration for further research.
Original Czech Drama and Contemporary Drama in 70s of 20th Century

Resumé This academical work called The Original Czech Drama and Contemporary Drama in 70s of 20th century looks back at 70s as the first ten years of Normalisation. The period was restricting in the field of literature. The authors could not write freely. The regime put borders to limit their work. The original drama shows how the culture acts under pressure and without freedom. Obviously, the literature describing current times was disadvantaged opposed to the literature which describes "get away" themes. The conditions for theatres were very strict, mainly for new plays which had to be approved by the regime. There were some improvisation but the reaction of the audience was not easy to predict. In this decade the authors pretend to believe in the ideas of Socialism. They write about the advantages socialistic development. Only in this were the authors were guaranteed that their work is going to be published and performed. This is the difference between 50s of 20th century, when the authors really believed in rightness of the socialistic development. Nevertheless, their beliefs were slowly broken and their private lives strongly influenced. The general concept of undistinguished greyness which means the official work of Normalisation period was opposed to work of some authors. These work were variable,...
