Geographical aspects of the Official Development Assistance: Global and National Level
Chárová, Lenka ; Tomeš, Jiří (advisor) ; Novotný, Josef (referee)
This dissertation deals with the Official Development Assistance. The purpose of this dissertation was, first of all, to find out whether the target aid is focused on the poorest countries of the world. The theoretical part concentrates primarily on the institutional history of the Official Development Assistance and also on the development of mainstream theories which influenced it to the highest degree. In the analytical part the dissertation draws particularly from the database of the Development Assistance Committee under the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. From the global point of view, the dissertation is focused especially on the quantitative analysis of the changes in the allocation of the Official Development Assistance in the period from 1989 to 2008. From the geographical point of view, the spatio-temporal change in territorial priorities of important bilateral and multilateral donors and also the dependence of their expenditure on the socio-economic maturity of aid beneficiaries was analysed. The ability to clearly define the territorial priorities and on their basis to effectively target the development assistance is in national context analysed on the example of the Czech Republic. From the local point of view, the dissertation gives a brief description of the...

Gibraltar in international relations
Vodenka, Aleš ; Kochan, Jan (advisor) ; Žalek, Lukáš (referee)
This Bachelor thesis addresses the status of Gibraltar in international relations. The issue is examined in the context of the process of decolonization. I have concentrated primarily on the analysis of development and current position of this British Overseas Territory. The territory is significantly affected by a sovereignty dispute between Britain and Spain since the second half of the last century. The thesis presents a framework of the question of Gibraltar, which aims to the ability to decide if it is currently possible to consider the territory to be de facto decolonized. Theoretically, Gibraltar is still on the UN list of Non-Self-Governing Territories, i.e. subject to the decolonization process. From understanding the concept of decolonization, the analysis of the politico historical development of Gibraltar, putting the issue into framework of the UN and examining arguments of the relevant parties in connection with the territorial dispute I come to the conclusion that it is the persisting dispute which keeps the territory from being internationally recognized as decolonized. But - considering the right to self-determination a paramount principle of international law - it is paradoxical that not only did the Gibraltarians speak out in favour of the present status of their country, but they also contributed to shaping it, which implies that they currently do not consider themselves a residue of colonial rule.

Wheat competiveness against weeds in organic farming
MACHKOVÁ, Božena
This study is concentrated on the evaluation of competitive ability of spring and winter wheat varieties by selected characteristics affecting competitiveness against weeds. They evaluated the characteristics (shape tuft, the length of the plant, LAI, coverage and the position of the flag leaf). For the evaluation of characters (tuft shape, length and position of flag leaf) methodology was used, based on the methodical approach ÚKZÚZ for tests of its utility varieties. For the analysis was used LAI (SunScan Devices - Canopy Analysis Sytem).

Partly service oriented systems.
Severýn, Tomáš ; Kasal, Jindřich (referee) ; Král, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze current state of Service Oriented Architecture, describe maturity of some products on the market and to make forecast of future trends based on gained experience. Service Oriented Architecture is a wide term and may have deep impact on many activities in modern enterprise. Development, which led to this architecture from IT point of view, together with most used standards, is summarized in theoretical part of this thesis. The stress is put on standards connected with process management and integration of human tasks into processes. Practical part of this thesis is focused on feasibility study of creating document management system. It concentrates on analysis of current situation and design of extending the system with external process management. Implementation work was made to prove ability to connect those systems using standards from theoretical part of this thesis. During the implementation were discovered that some components fail to satisfy those standards and therefore it was necessary to make some changes in communication layer. However, the hypothesis that current products are mature enough was proved to be true.

Design parameters of filtration materials for small constructed wetlands
Fialová, Tereza ; Rozkošný,, Miloš (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
Constructed wetlands and the soil filters are water treatment devices using the filter material that in most cases consists of natural river gravel, coarse sand or crushed stone. This thesis deals with the research of unconventional filtration materials, or more precisely with examination of their ability to be used as an alternative medium that can ensure better cleaning effect. For the research work following metallurgical industry materials were used: slag, waste from cipres filter, waste from the molding mixture, waste from large blasters and small blasters, sand filter material ČEZ, the coarse crushed slag 8-16 mm and as the last alternative medium ground coffee beans. Both the hydraulic and the chemical aspect of all above mentioned materials were tested (except of the last mentioned). The examined hydraulic parameters are particularly porosity, hydraulic conductivity, bulk density, particle density, chemical composition and concentration of chemical extracts. By evaluating the results of the measurements it is determined which materials are suitable to be applied in the constructed wetlands and the soil filters. In future the testing will continue under real operating conditions in the constructed wetland, where particular column filtration units (selected according to results of previous measurement) will treat real sewage water.

Exposure of the Czech population to chlorinated pesticides
Svatošová, Renata ; Černá, Milena (advisor)
The history of life on earth is a history of interactions between organisms and their vivid environment. During the last century greatly increased the ability of a person changing environment and this ability also changed its character.People began to fight against nature by developing a number of chemicals. It turned out that these chemicals on the one hand, help control various pests and parasites, but other hand, have many adverse effects on the environment and living organisms, including humans. Hazardous chemicals are globally widespread. To continuous research that strives to accurately describe their harmful effects. The aim of the present the company is reducing or eliminating production and use of these chemicals. Among the most hazardous chemicals present in our environment are chlorinated pesticides (eg DDT - dichlordifenyltrichlorethan). According to the global Stockholm Convention have been classified as POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants). Their production and use is mostly disabled and their concentrations are organized monitored. (Http://www.pops.int) In the Czech Republic has selected exposure to toxic substances including chlorinated pesticides monitored in the so-called biological monitoring. Biological monitoring based on the Czech Government Resolution No. 369/1991. The data obtained...

Delayed School Attendance in the Region of Říčany
Kovaříková, Marie ; Kropáčková, Jana (advisor) ; Linková, Marie (referee)
Diploma thesis "Delayed School Attendance in the Region of Říčany" deals with survey of the region of Říčany with respect to opinions and experience of kindergarten and primary school teachers. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part contains information on delay school attendance issues necessary for successful realisation of a pedagogical research. The practical part is focused on answering of defined survey questions and on verification or falsification of the hypothesis. The research is based on the quantity method of questioning (by means of questionnaire and interview) and qualitative method of observation. The survey took place at 24 kindergartens and 7 primary schools taking into account 54 kindergarten teachers and 15 primary school teachers in the region of Říčany. It was found out, that the number of delayed school attendance in the region of Říčany is lower than the average value in the entire Czech Republic. Further, kindergarten and primary school teachers agree, that children often have problems with communication and concentration. Other important findings are that teachers don't feel any difference between children with and without delayed school attendance; they have individual approach to children on the basis of their abilities and needs. The end of the work contains...

Synthesis of novel acetylcholinesterase reactivators bearing various linkers between two pyridinium rings.
Hambálek, Jan ; Doležal, Martin (advisor) ; Opletalová, Veronika (referee)
Synthesis of novel acetylcholinesterase reactivators bearing various linkers between two pyridinium rings Summary Six novel bispyridinium AChE reactivators with aliphatic linker and nine novel reactivators with xylene linker were synthesized. Their ability to reactivate AChE inhibited by nerve agent tabun and insecticide paraoxon was tested in vitro. pralidoxime, HI-6 a obidoxime were chosen as reference compounds. Regarding the obtained results, six compounds seem to be potent reactivators of paraoxon-inhibited AChE for both chosen concentration. Furthermore, there is evidence that compounds with only one hydroxyiminomethyl group with xylene linker have also reactivation ability compared to bisoxime compounds. Reactivation potency is decreasing with increasing length of the aliphatic linker. None of the tested compounds was able to reactivate tabun-inhibited AChE.

Posouzení samočistící schopnosti vodního toku vlivem revitalizačních úprav
Polák, Karel
Rate of pollution degradation in stream depends on its self-purification ability. Intensity of self-purification capacity differs by various streams and except other factors it is notable affected by the character of the watercourse. Due to rugged watercourse, longer detention time and more favorable conditions for resurgence the self-purification capability of restored streams is supposed to be higher than the self-purification capability of technically modified streams. In this thesis the change of water quality indicators in technically modified (923 m) and restored (264 m) reach of Haraska river (South Moravia, the Czech Republic) was investigated. Using QUAL2K software (USEPA, 2008) the water quality model was created. Comparison of changes of water quality indicator values between technically modified and restored reach was also performed (Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon test, a = 0,05), whereas statistically significant differences were observed only in inorganic and total phosphorus concentration.
