The Perception of Space of People from Various Cultures and its Effect of their Languages
The Variance of Discounted Rewards in Markov Decision Processes: Laurent Expansion and Sensitive Optimality
Sladký, Karel
In this paper we consider discounted Markov decision processes with finite state space and compact actions spaces. We present formulas for the variance of total expected discounted rewards along with its partial Laurent expansion. This enables to compare the obtained results with similar results for undiscounted models.

Qantum-mechanical study of structural stability of Ni4N allotropes
Hemzalová, P. ; Friák, Martin ; Šob, Mojmír ; Neugebauer, J.
Parameter-free density functional theory (DFT) calculations of Ni4N in eight crystallographic phases were performed using the pseudopotential approach implemented in the VASP code; the exchange-correlation energy was evaluated within the generalized gradient approximation (GGA). In agreement with experiments, the cubic structure with Pearson symbol cP5, space group Pm-3m (221), has been found to be the most stable. It is also the only thermodynamically stable structure at T=0 K with respect to decomposition into elemental Ni crystal and N2 gas phase. We determine structural, thermodynamic, electronic, magnetic and elastic properties of all eight Ni4N allotropes studied. The thermodynamic stability and bulk modulus is found to be anti-correlated. For the cubic allotropes, we predict a complete set of single-crystalline elastic constants, directional dependence of the single-crystalline Young modulus and homogenized polycrystalline elastic moduli.

Multimodal retinal image registration
Štohanzlová, Petra ; CSc, Tomáš Suk, (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
This work deals with possibilities of registration of retinal images from different mo-dalities, concretely optical coherence tomography (OCT), scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (SLO) and fundus camera. In first stage is the interest focused on registration of SLO and fundus images, which will serve to determine area of interest for consecutive registration of OCT data. The final stage is finding correct location of OCT B-scans in fundus image. On the basis of the studied methods of registration was chosen method making use of computation of correlation coefficient for both cases. For finding optimal parameters of registration is used searching through whole space of parameters. In partial stages of the work was created algorithm for alignment of B-scans followed by detection of blood vessels and also simple algorithm for detection of blood vessels from fundus image. For more transparent registration the graphical user interface was created, which allows loading input images and displaying the result in several possible forms.

Příklady odhadu stavu a parametrů pro lineární model s rovnoměrně rozloženými inovacemi
Pavelková, Lenka
In this contribution, state-space model with uniformly distributed innovations is introduced and the Bayesian state estimation proposed. The off-line evaluation of the maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) estimate of unknowns in the linear state-space model with uniform innovations reduces to linear programming (LP). The solution provides either estimates of the noise boundary and parameters or of the noise boundary and states. The on-line estimation is obtained by applying LP on the sliding window, i.e., by considering only the fixed amount, say partial, of the newest last data and states items. By swapping between state and parameter estimations, joint parameter and state estimation is obtained. The use of Taylor expansion for approximation of products of unknowns solves also the joint parameter and state estimation. Simulation studies help to get an insight on the potential and restrictions of these heuristic method. This contribution shares the experimentally gained experience with both these solutions of the joint state and parameter estimation.

Stage design of Josef Svoboda in the Theatre and Grand opera of 5th May
Frydlová, Veronika ; Klimešová, Marie (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor)
Josef Svoboda is one of the few stage setters well known in the Czech Republic and also abroad whose work is appreciated by general cultural public. He and also František Tröster and Vlastislav Hofman brought themselves to theatergoers' notice. Laterna Magika audience can still be fascinated by his creative invention and his visual and technical talent (light experiments and usage of two-way mirrors). Josef Svoboda is known mainly as a Laterna Magica stage setter. Not many people know that he started his career in opera-house Velká opera 5. května. He worked here as a very young, beginning artist till the year 1948 when the theater was canceled. He was a stage setting director. He met here a group of young and creative actors and directors and together they created a unique type of a theater which changed established opera stereotypes. Josef Svoboda participated in this process by creating novel stage settings, always in accordance with the style of each inscenation. He always started from the essence of the story, for example in production Hoffmanovy povídky, Prodaná nevěsta, Tosca (still could be seen in the original form in Státní opera) and Výlety pana Broučka. He never followed stereotypes used by his predecessors and he created his own new stage space. In my work firstly I have tried to summarize the...

Jůza, Štěpán ; Uher, Pavel (referee) ; Rubina, Aleš (advisor)
Masters degree thesis with name “Air flow in closed space” in teoretical part describes air flow. Defined here basic types of flow including the flow in a closed space and the methods for the description of the air flow. The practical part deals with project eva-luation distribution of air conditioning system using CFD model. Next solves a second variant of air distribution and compare the changes that have occurred. The end of the practical part approaching the possibility of using CFD model for creating the quality environment maps and the possibility to create variants of calculating with changing levels of the supply air.

DYNAMICS OF ACCELERATING STREAMER IN BARRIER DISCHARGE IN AIR.
Hoder, T. ; Bonaventura, Z. ; Prukner, Václav ; Šimek, Milan
An accelerating streamer in barrier discharge is generated in 10 torr pressure air. Using the complex voltage waveform, the stable and reproducible discharge is triggered. From the ratio of two spectral bands of molecular nitrogen the electric field is determined in 2D. These results are well resolved in time and space thus suitable as a benchmark for computation of the streamer initiated plasma-chemistry in air.

Wind resource assessment for selected sites in the territory of the Czech Republic
Hanslian, David
This set of studies analyses the wind conditions and expected wind power production at selected sites in the Czech Republic. At first, the calculation of wind conditions by VAS/WAsP 1, VAS/WAsP 2 and PIAP models is performed. Based on the comparison and analysis of model results, the generalized wind climate pertaining to the assessed site is estimated. The final results are calculated by WAsP model using this generalized wind climate. The expected wind power production of proposed wind turbine or wind farm is calculated as well as the map of simulated average wind speed and potential wind turbine production over the surrounding area. The uncertainty analysis is performed as well. This set consists of 6 partial reports.
