This master thesis demonstrates feasibility of identification of small rodents in the pellets of Long-eared Owl {Asio otus) using pelvic bones and postcranial skeleton in biology classes. The first part of the text summarizes theoretical information on mammalian skeleton and owl pellets with in-class activities suggested. The methodology chapter describes methods of owl pellets collection and preparation, and subsequent processing of osteologic fragments extracted from the pellets. A list and relative distribution of small rodent species found during the analysis are included as well as a key for identification of small rodents using skeleton tragments. The outcome of the thesis are four teaching units that were successfully tested by the author on students from eight- and four-year Grammar Schools.

Rajhrad Altarpiece
Špinková, Tereza ; Ottová, Michaela (advisor) ; Nespěšná Hamsíková, Magdaléna (referee)
English Summary: Rajhrad Altarpiece Rajhrad Altarpiece was made by bohemian painter in the first half of the fifteen century. To this day, it has been preserved six panels - two of them have been created for the width and they deal with the theme of Crucifixion and Christ Carrying the Cross. Other panels are composed for the height and they talked about the Last Supper, Prayer on the Mount of Olives and Resurrection. The last painting concerns about the Finding and Verification of Saint Cross. The altarpiece used to be dated around 1415-1430. Nowadays, Milena Bartlová, following the new archive material (which was discovered by Bohumil Zlámal, Ivo Hlobil a Kateřina Engstová), has changed the previous opinion. She moves the origin of the altarpiece towards the year 1452 and she suppose that the panels were originally intended for the church of St. Mauritz in Olomouc. Other explorers date these paintings by the year 1440. The author of Rajhrad Altarpiece came from the precedent style of painting which was characterized by the lyric moments, complicated draperies and far-away kind of faces. The artist completes this scheme by the interest in the action, structure of place and here and there, he is concerned in individual portraits. He is supposed to have seen this kind of "realistic" motives in the illuminated...

Multi-cultural Instruction and its Place in the Lower Levels of Primary Schools in the Programme Začít spolu
Fišerová, Monika ; Kargerová, Jana (advisor) ; Tomková, Anna (referee)
The thesis concerns the problem how to integrate children coming from different cultures into educational process in junior elementary schools. It tries to explain causes of possibly originated misunderstanding and following conflicts in communication between individuals of various nationalities or diverse religions, then to mark out concepts referring to integration of minority pupils and to record eventual educator's attitude to cultural differences. Based on conclusions of action research, carried on in primary schools among pupils in the first and fifth grade who participate in an educational programme called "Start together", it wants to analyse the usage of the cross-sectional module of multicultural education included in several school subjects and it registers its asset to the development of pupil's key-competences in the teaching process. Research, development and innovation investments: case study of the Czech Republic
Czesaná, Veronika ; Petrášek, František (advisor) ; Kučerová, Jaroslava (referee)
Theoretical background for a knowledge- and innovation-based economic growth is built by macroeconomic theories of growth, whose overview is covered in the first part of this thesis. The methodology part designs and explains a set of indicators selected for the purposes of the consequent analysis, in order to assess and compare sources, outcomes and effects of research, development and innovation processes. The analytical part includes evaluation of all selected indicators including identification of probable causes of the identified developments and position of the Czech Republic within the European Union. The analysis is carried out in 5 consequent logic blocks, which fully cover the complete chain of consequences from costs up to final macroeconomic effects. One part of analysis concerning human resources in R&D is next to hard statistical data also based on the results of an own questionnaire survey designed especially for the purposes of this thesis to uncover motivating and discouraging factors standing behind university students' interest in doctorate degree attainment and in a career in research or development. The conclusive part of the thesis summarizes main findings and suggests directions for Czech R&D&I policy in order to achieve improvements in areas of the greatest inadequacies pointed out in the analysis.

Analysis of the performance review of the territorial self-governing unit
Němečková, Stanislava ; Svoboda, Michal (advisor) ; Kotrba, Rudolf (referee)
The thesis is focused on the problematic of reviewing the territorial self-governing unit in the Czech Republic. The goal is to compare the approach of the audit firm and approach of a regional office to perform the examination of the TSU. The first chapter defines the general characteristics of the public sector. The second focuses on a specific area of public administration, which represents local government. The third chapter describes the rules and obligations that are related to the budget management of TSU. The fifth chapter, which summarizes the specifics of the accounting and reporting of selected entities. Chapter five is still theoretical definition of audit in the public administration and distinguishes notions of audit and economic review of the TSU. The last part practically compares the prerequisites required for the implementation of the performance review, individual activities conducted under review, the result of these activities, which is the so-called report on the outcome of the examination of the TSU and summarizes the differences. Conclusion of the work shows that it is not important who provides an economic review, but how and especially in what quality is the review carried out.

Design of highway bridge
Luberová, Lucie ; Formánek, Ing Martin (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The subject of this bachelo r’s thesis is the design a new supporting bridge construction in Prešovský kraj, district Levoča the territory of Slovak Republic. This object is located on the highway D 26,5/120, at kilometer 13,499 795 and communication of third class – 131-00 bridges. The objective is the design of a perpendicular four-span construction, which is proposed in three variants. The first variant is a chamber girder with inclined walls from post-tensioned concrete height 2,480 m. The second variant is composed of two beamed cross-section and the third variant is composed of one beamed cross-section. For detailed assessment the first variant was chosen with a length of bridging of 166,000 m. The calculation of load effects is done by software Scia Engineer and compared with a manual calculation according to current standards. This bridge is designed according to limit states, construction´s influence on design is taking into consideration. Structural analysis, well arranged drawings and visualization are elaborated in this thesis too.

Determination of the normal stresses in a cross-section of a beam exposed to two and three component effect of loading using SBRA method
Pustka, D. ; Marek, Pavel
The common tasks during design and reliability assessment of bars exposed to multicomponent load effects are determined by normal stress at considered cross-section. How to proceed in case, when at such cross-sections are, e.g., normal force Nx and bending moment My (possibly also Mz), expressed by corresponding histograms and the normal stress corresponding to elected probability P, are to be ascertained? A probable procedure is proposed in the paper.
