An Empirical Comparison of Commercial Data Mining Tools
Faruzel, Petr ; Berka, Petr (advisor) ; Máša, Petr (referee)
The presented work "An Empirical Comparison of Commercial Data Mining Tools" deals with data mining tools from world's leading software providers of statistical solutions. The aim of this work is to compare commercial packages IBM SPSS Modeler and SAS Enterprise Miner in terms of their specification and utility considering a chosen set of evaluation criteria. I would like to achieve the appointed goal by a detailed analysis of selected features of the surveyed software packages as well as by their application on real data. The comparison is founded on 29 component criteria which reflect user's requirements regarding functionality, usability and flexibility of the system. The pivotal part of the comparative process is based on an application of the surveyed data mining tools on data concerning meningoencephalitis. Results predestinate evaluation of their performance while analyzing small and large data. Quality of developed data models and duration of their derivation are stated in reference to the use of six comparable data mining techniques for classification. Small data more likely comply with IBM SPSS Modeler. Although it produces slightly less accurate models, their development times are much shorter. Increasing the amount of data changes the situation in favor of competition. SAS Enterprise Miner manages better results while analyzing large data. Considerably more accurate models are accompanied by slightly shorter times of their development. Functionality of the surveyed data mining tools is comparable, whereas their usability and flexibility differentiate. IBM SPSS Modeler offers apparently better usability and learnability. Users of SAS Enterprise Miner have a slightly more flexible data mining tool at hand.

New regulation in classsification and measurement of financial assets and liabilities according to IFRS
Peringer, Matouš ; Vašek, Libor (advisor) ; Najmanová, Daniela (referee)
Financial instruments stand for a critical role in current economy. Total value of financial assets was $167 trillion due to McKinsey study in 2007. More alarming is a fact that total value of all derivative at OTC market was more than $600 trillion what is more than world's wealth. It is obvious that such a market needs rigorous regulation. International Accounting Standard Board (IASB) releasing new standard which regulate only financial instruments aims to react on that fact. In first part I would like to show current situation on financial market and brief regulation due to current rules. From the text there should be obvious nowadays turbulent environment and crisis deforming financial market. It was necessity for me to demonstrate the process of developing and adopting of the new standard. Next part of my diploma thesis refers to adopted rules for financial assets. This should be the fundamental part for users of financial statements as well as for my diploma thesis. The main changes took part in classification of financial assets. There are two new concepts for classification of financial asset which should be described in detailed. For better illustration I also placed practical part for classification according to new models. For readers it is convenient to know the differences between exposure draft and released standard. That should demonstrate the complex view of IASB. There are few changes in classification of financial liabilities. The main change is in specific case of own credit which I posted in thesis. This specific problem postponed the whole endorsement of the standard. The last chapter is dedicated to convergence between IFRS and US GAAP. Both parties work on convergence on reporting of financial instruments.

In the final step the results are commented and according to the conclusions proposals for improvements are formulated.

Řízení zásob výrobní společnosti
Tobolíková, Romana
TOBOLÍKOVÁ. R., Stock Management of Producing Company. Bachelor thesis. Brno, 2015. The literary section describes the general theory of inventory, classification, segmentation inventory costs. The three other chapters mainly deal with the ma-nagement of inventories, their strategies and modern methods. The practical part focusses on the evaluation of the supply process in the se-lected manufacturing company. Inventories are subjected to the ABC analysis which subsequently divides the stock into three groups. For inventory in Group A the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model is used to calculate the optimum order quantity the with minimal costs. Subsequently, the other optimal values are calcu-lated , which are compared to the actual company condition. Finally, the obtained values are evaluated and conclusions and possible rec-comendations for the company are derived from them.

The Autonomous House or Living Grid-off

This thesis deals with energy self-sufficiency focusing on the independence of the electric grid. Basic line emanating project form a concrete proposal for autonomous energy supply system. Emphasis is placed primarily on photovoltaic systems, electric energy accumulation and selection of individual components of such a system. Another important part of the thesis is also an economic evaluation of design variations. The thesis also deals with a market research, and thereof derived benefit assessment of each technology. The accompanying chapters are then devoted to the history of autonomous life style or classification of buildings according to their energy performance.

The language of medical reports and its information-lexical analysis
Přečková, Petra ; Zvárová, Jana (advisor) ; Hanzlíček, Petr (referee) ; Skalská, Hana (referee)
The objective of the dissertation thesis has been the information-lexical analysis of Czech medical reports and the usability of international classification systems in the Czech healthcare environment. The analysis of medical reports has been based on the attributes of the Minimal Data Model for Cardiology (MDMC). Narrative medical reports and structured medical reports from the ADAMEK software application have been used. For the thesis SNOMED CT and ICD-10 classification systems have been used. There has been compared how well attributes of MDMC are recorded in narrative and structured medical reports. The language analysis of the Czech narrative medical reports has been made. A new application for measuring diversity in medical reports written in any language is proposed. The application is based on the general concepts of diversities derived from f-diversity, relative f- diversity, self f-diversity and marginal f-diversity. The thesis has come to the conclusion that using a free text in medical reports is not consistent and not standardized. The standardized terminology would bring benefits to physicians, patients, administrators, software developers and payers and it would help healthcare providers as it could provide complete and easily accessible information that belongs to the process of...

Bromová, Petra ; Potůčková, Markéta (advisor) ; Hájek, Filip (referee)
Analysis of forest canopy density based on textural features of high resolution imagery and airborne laser scanning data Abstract The objective of this thesis is to assess the forest canopy density in the Šumava Mountains, Czech Republic. The spruce forests in this area have been suffering from the bark beetle outbreak for almost 20 years resulting in a mixture of dead and young trees, mature forest stands and peat bogs. The canopy density was evaluated using a very high spatial resolution panchromatic imagery and low point density LiDAR, combined with an object oriented approach. The classification based on three GLCM texture measures (contrast, entropy and correlation), which were derived from the image objects, resulted in a kappa index of accuracy of 0.45. Adding the information from the LiDAR data, the accuracy of the classification improved up to 0.95.

Zuranová, Jana ; Mladěnka, Přemysl (advisor) ; Pávek, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis is aimed at description characteristics and use of troxerutin in the clinical and the experimental practice. The first part of this thesis describes flavonoids as original substance. It includes theirs classification, chemical structure, common and potentionally beneficial pharmacodynamics properties. The main part of this thesis characterizes troxerutin. Troxerutin is a semisynthetic derivate of rutin. Its pharmacodynamics activities has been used therapeutically in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency for more 30 years. Its positive is based on its antithrombotic, fibrinolytic, odemaprotective, blood viscosity and leukocyte endothelium-wall adherence decresing properties. Troxerutin directly affects erythrocytic aggregation particullary marked at high doses and it facilitation higher afflux of blood to the microcirculation. Its antioxidative effect is important too. The main indications of troxerutin at the present are chronic venous insufficiency and hemorrhoids. Simultaneously is experimentaly examined in a range of disorder, for example in the therapy of common cold, diabetic retinopathy and lymphoedema. In the Czech republic, troxerutin is available perorally in the form (Cilkanol® , Ginkor fort® and Venoruton® ) and locally as gel in Venoruton® gel.
