Large carnivors in the Beskydy
Szotkowská, Lucie ; Andreska, Jan (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
This bachelor project investigates the incidence of large carnivores, brown bears (Ursus arctos), wolves (Canis lupus), lynxes (Lynx lynx) and wildcats (Felis silvestris) in the territory of the of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. It characterizes the anatomy, food, reproduction and behaviour of each type of large carnivore. The investigation includes a field study which involved direct observations of signs of the presence of large carnivores, especially footprints. The aim of the project was to ascertain with the aid of a literature search and by direct observation the circumstances in which large carnivores have been returning to and are now present in the territory of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area. The presence of large carnivores in the territory of the Beskydy Protected Landscape Area has ben confirmed by the discovery of footprints. Oral reports by several involved persons are a further source of information confirming the presence of large carnivores in this landscape.

Optimization of diecasting process of an electric motor bear shield casting
Krňávek, Štěpán ; Kolmačka, Marek (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
The present bachelor thesis deals with optimization of a die casting technology used to make a casting of an electric motor bear shield which is cast in the Siemens Elektromotory Ltd. foundry in the town of Mohelnice. There are foundry defects in the casting which are undesirable and must be removed. The introduction of the thesis is devoted to an analysis of the bear shield casting, its casting parameters, an alloy AlSi9Cu3(Fe) used and to problems resulting from the occurrence of defects in the casting. Subsequently, the die casting technology is explained, machines used in this technology and their new structural design are described, and the most frequently occurring defects in this technology and their causes are mentioned. In the following part of the thesis an x-ray analysis of the casting, a thermal analysis of the casting and a microscopic analysis of the defect cavity are carried out. On the basis of the analysis the casting defects have been identified as closed air - gas holes. To minimise the occurrence of the given casting defects several possible corrective measures have been suggested.

Postoperative nursing care of the pediatric patient with cleft soft palate

The mitochondrial genome in the ontogenesis
Töröková, Petra ; Brdička, Radim (advisor) ; Černý, Viktor (referee)
The main goal of this study is the comparison of sequences of the HVRII region of the mitochondrial genome in the cord blood sample and the saliva sample of the same individual, taken at average ten years from his/her birth. It is known that during ontogenesis the human genome changes. All the more the mitochondrial genome which shows a higher mutation rate, and moreover it is not taken care of it by repair mechanisms. In older individuals, there was found a distinctive amount of mitochondrial variations cumulated in different tissues in the process of the ontogenesis. This study is focused on the detection of these changes already in younger individuals. The tissue-specific variability which is created during ontogenesis might have an adverse influence on all sorts of the mtDNA based studies. The samples were taken in two regions (Teplice / Prachatice) that differ in the pollution of environment. With regard to that, the samples with discovered changes were compared from the standpoint of the region, which they had come from, with the aim to prove the influence of environment on the mutagenesis of the mitochondrial DNA. Samples were also compared from the point of view of sex. Furthermore the variability of the collection of Czech population was evaluated and the estimation of the genetic...
