Production of popular music using virtual instruments
Mottl, Jaroslav ; Vondra, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Doškář, Josef (referee)
This thesis deals with technological possibilities of music production with virtual instruments, it as well shows replicable method which the reader can use to create their own composition. In the theoretical part, technology which is used to create music with virtual instruments is explained. Practical part consists of the manual which shows how to produce this type of music accompanied with audio appendix.
Experimental software musical instrument
Čapandová, Zuzana ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on realization of experimental electroacoustic software musical instrument, which uses non-contact sound parameters control via Kinect XBOX ONE motion sensor. The software is developed in C# using the NAudio open source library.
Experimental Hardware Musical Instrument
Chaňo, Petr ; Vrba, Kamil (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The main aim of the bachelor thesis was to design and build a musical instrument that will have a signs of the experimentalism consist of combination synthesizer and sequencer, tuning, unusual kind of controls and its look. At the top of this work is the theoretical introduction to the musical instruments and to the process of generating and modulating sound. There is also written information about parts that the instrument consists of (microcontroller, D/A converter), principles that leads to being able to create this instrument (operational amplifiers, frequency filters, DDS) in the theoretical part. The description of the components is in the practical part followed by the information about the circuits at this instrument and about software solution as well.
Modular Analog Synthesizer
Jambor, Tomáš ; Vrba, Kamil (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work is to get acquainted with the principle of modular analog synthesizers and circuit design used in these devices. The subtractive synthesis was chosen like a main method, which is based on a modular design principle. The theoretical part include brief history of synthesizers and electronic musical instruments, review of other methods of synthesis and detailed elaboration of principles and modules used in subtractive synthesis. The practical part of this work is implementation and measuring properties of the module voltage controlled oscillator, voltage controlled filter, low frequency oscillator and voltage controlled amplifier. There is additionally implement calculation and design circuitry for voltage controlled amplifier.
FITkit Music Synthesizer
Melichar, Vojtěch ; Minařík, Miloš (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with sound synthesis methods and with design of a synthesizer for FITkit platform. In the first part of the thesis, there are described methods of sound synthesis and the history of sound synthesis is also stated here. Next part contains a brief characteristic of sound chip SID 6581. In the next part of the thesis, there is a design of each part of the synthesizer: oscillator, envelope generator, voice and filter. Then, these components are put together to make up an synthesizer. Correctness of the implementation is verified by a simulation in ModelSim 6.6d. Individual components are simulated separately and then in mayor groups.
Direct digital synthesizerfor microwave application
Dluhý, Vojtěch ; Vondra, Vlastimil (referee) ; Kasal, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is introduce readers to the basics of digital frequency synthesis and design of direct digital synthesizer with circuit AD9951 by Analog Devices. The device will be controlled from a PC via USB. The device works with internal oscillator, with the ability to connect an external frequency standard of 10 MHz. On input is frequency doubler with transistor. Outpu signal is filtered by low-pass filter and amplified by monolitic amplifier ERA-3+.

The aim of this thesis is introduce readers to the basics of digital frequency synthesis and design of direct digital synthesizer with circuit AD9951 by Analog Devices. The device will be controlled from a PC via RS232. The device will work with internal oscillator, with the ability to connect an external frequency standard.
DRM signal receiver
Mik, Šimon ; Charvát, Jiří (referee) ; Šnajdr, Václav (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with the design of DRM (Digital Radio Mondiale) receiver. The block diagram of receiver was chosen and particular blocks were theoretically analyzed. After that followed design and production of each block. The synthesizer was programmed and the receiver properties were verified. The last part of thesis deals with real receiving of DRM broadcast.
Design and realization of ADSR filter
Pokorný, Martin ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (referee) ; Slezák, Josef (advisor)
The master´s thesis is focused on design of ADSR filter and voltage controlled amplifier (VCA). Three additional circuits performing analog signal processing are added. Functionality of designed circuits is verified in simulation program. All designed circuits are practically realized. Thesis includes complete design of the mentioned circuits and all necessary informations for its practical realization. All designed circuits are measured and the results are presented.
Deisign of the simple MIDI network
Lečbych, Jakub ; Krček, Petr (referee) ; Roupec, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to compare advantages and disadvantages digital sound processing. Thesis is engaged in signal generating, editating, recording and mastering. It regards on the problem from the point of view of the sound designer, not like an artist. It also contains review of world-wide companies products. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to design a simple MIDI net, where audiosignal is generated and edited digitally, although output sound have characteristic warm abilities of analog synthetizer.
