Vladimir Nabokov - as a Translator of his own Works
Srpová, Kateřina ; Hlaváček, Antonín (advisor) ; Hříbková, Radka (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to compare the output of Vladimir Nabokov - the translator, and Vladimir Nabokov - the translator of his own works. Therefore the first part of this thesis deals mainly with Nabokov's language background. Nabokov was a bilingual author who wrote with equal fluency both in Russian and English, sometimes even in French. He was able to translate from and into these languages too. Nabokov began his translating career as a significant representative of free translation method. His translation of Carroll's Alice in Wonderland into Russian may serve a good example of this approach. However, during his life his attitude towards translation completely changed to an extreme of literalism. After the disastrous translation of his novel Kamera obskura into English carried out by Winifred Roy, Nabokov concluded that it is only the author himself who has the right to change anything in the process of translation. In agreement with this principle, he embraced an extremely literalist doctrine in translating Eugen Onegin into English. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The introductory chapters are discussed theories price behavior of the stock markets and methods to estimate future price developments. The main part of the theoretical part is focused on technical analysis and its tools. Technical analysis tools understand graphical analysis and analysis based on technical indicators, which are then used to create busi-ness strategy. In the practical part is first mentioned methodology for creating and evaluating business strategies. For creating business strategies have been selected tech-nical indicators, exponential moving average, Relative Strength Index, Com-modity Index Channel and Parabolic SAR. For this investigation implies that none of these strategies has not been in business del-SIM period (2008-2012) able to overcome yield market. In all calculated based invest-ment strategies loss. Overcoming yield market has been only in the short term, in 2008, the most successful strategy was published strategy based on exponential moving ave-rage. This result helped the financial crisis in 2008, which caused the market to become a loss in the amount of $ 1,978.44 (ie 39.6%) while the loss in busi-ness strategies were lower. Another positive year was 2012, when managed business strategies established by the oscillator Commodity Channel Index (CCI) and trend indicator Parabolic SAR outperform the market. In both business strategist-ICH achieve higher profits than the market return. The results in the long term and are consistent with market efficiency, which states that no created business strategy will deliver higher returns than the market itself.

Prague folk-tales in the second half of 19th century
Janeček, Petr ; Sochorová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Sochorová, Ludmila (referee)
Presented study analyzes local oral tradition in the second half of the 19th century with particular interest in Prague local legends, their character, genesis and function. The ca se study of Prague local legends, collected by Czech writer Popelka Biliánová, has two main goals: to analyse and classify these oral texts, and to connect their interpretation by their collector to Czech national movement, ethnic stereotypes and archeological, historical and mythological studies of the period. Prague local legends collected by Popelka Biliánová represent, unlike other prague local legends, which were heavily influenced by medieval chronicles or literary tradition, in its larger part authentic oral texts. None of the collectors of Prague local legends before and after Biliánová's period, with possible exception of Biliánová' s precessedor, historian Josef Svátek, was able to collect such authentic local folklore tradition. Biliánová' s Prague legends could be classified as a folklore genre of superstitious legends and have relatively recent origin: some derive from Catholic pious legends connected to local churches and holy places (the oldest of them stemming from the 17th and 18th century), some are quite recent individual memorates. Although Biliánová' s Prague legends were collected mainly for support of Czech...

Reinforcement concrete column strengthening via steel bandage
Stloukal, Štěpán ; Laníková, Ivana (referee) ; Šimůnek, Petr (advisor)
The steel bandage is an economical and effective widely used method for strengthening RC columns. Diploma thesis reviews most common design proposals for the types of the bandage with directly loaded and not directly loaded steel angles. This work also includes a comparison of the different constitutive laws for confined concrete. In order to simulate real behaviour of strengthened structure the numerical analysis has been carried out using non-linear software ATENA. According to the European standards and adopted hypotheses the simplified analytical model has been derived to be able to calculate load-bearing capacity of a strengthened column under normal force and bending moment. The proposed model considers the contribution in confinement pressure caused by steel bandage and the contribution of directly loaded angles. In addition, the direct application on real frame structure has been performed.

Digital comic
Zajíčková, Žofie ; PIXA, Libor (advisor) ; KLIMT, Aurel (referee)
The aim of this work is to give some insight into the enviroment of digital comic and look at what kind of language is this new medium using, what is it´s specific quality. The work should put some light on what we can imagine when we say „Digital comic“, scatch out some possible issues around comics that had been transferd into digital form after they were released like a classical comicbooks. After that I am trying to analyse few works that had been designed specificly for the digital enviroment. At the end I am comparing these works to the classical comicbooks and trying to find out what makes them specific. I´m also finding an answer to the question what are the basis of these digital comics that didn´t lost characteristics of their original comic medium and at the same time were able to absorbed some new media.

Integration of clonal plants in heterogeneous environment
Vinšová, Jana ; Weiser, Martin (advisor) ; Macek, Petr (referee)
Clonal plants may be able to cope with spatial and temporal heterogeneity due to the physiological integration of ramets. To begin with, I discuss basic characteristics of clonal plants and then I provide a review of theoretical and empirical work dealing with the advantages and disadvantages of clonal growth in heterogenous conditions. Three main traits - translocation of resources, division of labour and foraging - are examined in terms of their contribution to the success of clonal plants. Despite a large amount of attention which this topic has received in the past few decades, a number of issues still remain unclear.

Individualized approach to student early learning at the start to prevent school difficulties
Mrázková, Andrea ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Wildová, Radka (referee)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out and present primary school teachers' attitude to the possibilities of the implementation of an individualized approach in terms of the prevention of school difficulties. The method that was chosen in order to achieve this aim was a structured interview carried out with primary school teachers. The collected data were processed with the use of the grounded theory method and assessed in discussion. The results of this thesis offer a great amount of information and topics about the means and conditions of realization of individualized education in the first grade with the aim of the highest development of a pupil who is potentially at the risk of future school difficulties or who already has them. These findings may help not only for broadening of primary school teachers' awareness about the possibilities of an individualized approach but also for another research into this issue. Key words: early childhood, individualization, teacher, school difficulties, family cooperation

Plan of Measures for Implementation in the Event of an Emergency Situation at a Swimming Pool
Macečková, Lenka ; Doležel, Ludvík (referee) ; Svoboda, Bohuslav (advisor)
The thesis focuses on creation of precaution „Plan applicable in case of exceptional/unsafe incidents taking place at TJ Tesla swimming pool located in Brno”. The theoretical chapter(s) deal with legislative framework and related bills regarding leak of dangerous substances from buildings. It also deals with protection of population within the Czech Republic with regard to separate measures applicable according to the character of incident. The practical chapter(s) deal with analysis of risks within the premises and define the character of unsafe attributes of the risk sources. The various risks are therefore modelled in order to show the possible range of unsafe effects on population. These models are necessary to define the most effective protective measures applicable while exceptional/unsafe incidents occur. The aim of the thesis is to create the specific precaution plan as well as dispute the way the incidents of unsafe substances of below the legislative limit amount could be handled.

České malé a střední podniky a efektivita jejich PPC marketingu
Zachová, Hana ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Hlaváček, Josef (referee)
This thesis examines the problem of evaluating the effectiveness of digital marketing; more specifically it looks at the topic of Pay-per-click advertising on the scope of Small and Medium-sized businesses in the Czech Republic. The thesis provides literature review of the historical and current possible practices of what specific measures can be used to evaluate the success of pay-per-click advertising. Moreover, it connects the measurement subject with the associated area of attribution modeling. This topic represents an important issue for the online marketers mostly because of a currently widely used last-click attribution model that is not able to attribute the fair value of the different channels on the consumer journey to purchase. The primary research conducted in the form of qualitative research through in-depth interviews brings insights into the current practices of selected representatives of Czech SME sector as well as the digital agencies on the matter of measuring the success of online marketing and the attribution modeling. Derived findings give a picture at what stage of development the measurement and attribution of PPC currently is in the Czech SME market.
