This PhDr. work is a comparative historical work comparing two of five most important chronicles of the Portuguese India of the 16th century, History of the Discovery and Conquest of India by the Portuguese (História do Descobrimento e Conquista da Índia pelos Portugueses) by Ferno Lopes de Castanheda and Legends of India (Lendas da Índia) by Gaspar Cor- reia. The work is divided into three sections. The first section is an introduction to the topic selected. It outlines the causes of the huge Portuguese ultramarine expansion and what preceded it, as well as its progress. In this section there is a chronological overview of Portuguese expansion to Asia, which was initiated and implemented to a decisive extent by Governor Afonso de Albuquerque (1509-1515). Thanks to him, the so-called Estado da Índia founded by his precursor, Francisco de Almeida, got firm foundations and expanded territorially enormously. A brief characterization of Estado da Índia is in the second part of this section. The very conclusion of the first section is dedicated to the rich literature of ultramarine discoveries. The first section is followed by two crucial sections, which are dedicated to the above- named chroniclers and their works, i.e. to Ferno Lopes de Castanheda and his History (the second section) and to Gaspar Correia and...

Extraction of unspecified relations from the web
Ovečka, Marek ; Svátek, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Labský, Martin (referee)
The subject of this thesis is non-specific knowledge extraction from the web. In recent years, tools that improve the results of this type of knowledge extraction were created. The aim of this thesis is to become familiar with these tools, test and propose the use of results. In this thesis these tools are described and compared and extraction is carried out using OLLIE. Based on the results of the extractions, two methods of enriching extractions using name entity recognition, are proposed. The first method proposes to modify the weights of extractions and second proposes the enrichment of extractions by named entities. The paper proposed ontology, which allows to capture the structure of enriched extractions. In the last part practical experiment is carried out, in which the proposed methods are demonstrated. Future research in this field would be useful in areas of extraction and categorization of relational phrases.

Roman Lamps From Cemeteries in Gerulata (Rusoviec)
Frecer, Robert ; Musil, Jiří (advisor) ; Ondřejová, Iva (referee)
This catalogue documents Roman lamps from the cemeteries of Gerulata (modern-day Rusovce). It consists of 16 Bildlapmen, 89 Firmalampen, and one special shape. These lamps were found mainly in two large cemeteries, in both cremation and inhumation graves, dated from the last decades of the 1 st century AD to the dawn of the 3rd century. Of the Bildlampen, several lamps with angular voluted nozzles (Loeschcke type I) and one fragment of a circular lamp with a rounded nozzle (Loeschcke type VIII) are represented. Of the Firmalampen, both Loeschcke types IX and X are found, type X and its variations being the most numerous (67 lamps). The iconography of relief decorations shows a range of mythological and profane images. Twenty different makers' stamps in relief are found, two without parallels, with Fortis as most common. The production, transport and copying of Firmalampen is described; resulting endeavors to locate their point of origin are determined to be often unreliable without chemical analysis. Both the relationship of lamps to other grave goods as well as their purpose in graves are assessed; lamps are found to have been an available luxury, as appropriate in a Romanized society. Most lamps had worn bases, and some had blackened wickholes; most are burned by their inclusion in the funeral pyre. The...

Art spaces outside institutional frames: differential spaces of art
Piškur, Bojana ; Wittlich, Petr (advisor) ; Pachmanová, Martina (referee) ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (referee)
The aim of this dissertation is to direct attention towards differential way of approaching spaces of art, on the basis of Lefebvrian space production. But the space production in question is just one aspect which cannot be isolated from the wider social environment. While differential spaces of art seem to be - in theory at least- an ideal place for discussion within recent debates on representation, culture, identity and so on, they have nevertheless been relatively isolated from these perspectives. The main reason is that it is impossible to analyze the actual production of differential spaces. lt is possible, however, to elucidate and expose the production and the product - space (they are inevitably connected) - through first-hand experiences (participation), and through secondary sources such as documentary materials, newspaper articles, interviews etc. Production of differential spaces of art can be recognized in the following spatialities: appropriated spaces, embodied spaces, spaces of the so called "third sector", and inner spaces of mind, to name the examples described in the dissertation. lt also seeks answers to questions: what is specific to the production of differential spaces of art? What is the relationship between different spatialities? Between differential spaces of art and the...

Estonia as a Nordic Country?
Vejmělek, Tomáš ; Švec, Luboš (advisor) ; Skálová, Barbora (referee)
The following thesis deals with two primary matters. The first being the effort of Estonian politicians to change how Estonia's regional belonging is viewed by other countries before the admission into the European Union. These efforts can be illustrated by political actions whose aim was to create the image of Estonia as a Nordic country. These efforts slightly diminished after the admission into the European Union although on some levels they can be still observed. Despite close cooperation Estonia isn't adequate member of Nordic countries to this day. This thesis aspires to explain reasons for these action of Estonian politicians and why they were left off after the admission into EU. The second matter being the region of Nordic countries. Collective Nordic identity helped establish transnational cooperation among involved nations which represents one of the essential characteristics of a Nordic country. The emphasis is on historical context of Nordic identity and the development of Nordic cooperation from its initiation until current state. First the thesis introduces a theoretical insight into the region matters. Consequently it deals with the first matter, the efforts to redefine Estonia as a Nordic country, which is followed by analysis of the concept of a Nordic country and Nordic...
