Spectrum auction and It's impact on telecommunication industry

This work adresses oligopoly in telecomunication industry. Proper attention is given to the one of the biggest obstacles in entering the marker, which is acquiring the licence for the radio transmitting. Czech telecommunication Office decided to release these licences in a form of the auction. The work looks on the whole proces from the perspective of the game theory. Each participant is described and considered to be one of the players and regulatory agency as the rule maker of the game. Characteristics of the offered frequencies are alse discussed. The work investigates both of the carried out actions. Their results are examined and compared to the theoretical projections given by the game theory. Finally, a comparison with the auctions from the other european contries is given from the perspective of the outcome and defined rules.

Clean Code in C#

This thesis focuses on code cleanliness in the language C# on the Microsoft .NET platform and its goal is to create a manual for developers showing that it how and why they should measure, maintain and improve code cleanliness. It defines basic rules for the appearance of clean code beginning with the simplest ones such as code formatting, naming the language elements, modelling classes and methods and general recommendations for writing comments in code and how to handle exceptions using the tools available in the C# language. The second part focuses on the process of refactoring, it defines a list of code smells which can be used as indicators of poor quality code. The third part is focused on the challenges brought by the development of software in a team. I have also conducted a research to determine the state of knowledge of clean code among software developers. As an evidence of importance of maintaining code cleanliness I have included the economic impact on the cost of a software project.

Travel Documentary and Travel Show

This master thesis deals with travel documentaries. It presents the genre's basic definitions and briefly describes its history from the beginning of cinematography up to now, with a special focus on current Czech and foreign TV series. Filming and post-production dramaturgical rules and production limits are described in the case study of television series Na cestě, and their resulting impact on the show's traits is analyzed. The outcomes of television rating and viewer satisfaction measurements are also dealt with; moreover, based on the available data, a viewer profile is outlined, attempting to deduce what his visions and expectations are. As a contrast with TV production, the paper includes two creative documentaries, which characteristics also fit the travel genre: Notebook from China, by Danish director Jorgen Leth, and Šimon Špidla's Into Oblivion. The study compares their style and ways of narration, draws a comparison with series' features, and aims to answer whether or not the conditions of TV series production enable creative travel filmmaking.

The impact of the policies of Margaret Thatcher's government on the socioeconomic status of the Catholic population in Northern Ireland

The thesis deals with the issue of the socioeconomic situation of the Catholic community in Northern Ireland. It examines the economic, educational and housing policies that were put into effect in Northern Ireland by Margaret Thatcher's government and endeavours to determine whether an improvement occurred in the socioeconomic situation of the Catholic population during her rule. Education, employment and housing were examined for the analysis. Margaret Thatcher only implemented greater changes in education during her third term in office. When she was prime minister there were no budget cuts in this area, and the budget grew slightly in the second half of the eighties. In the eighties, the trend from the previous decade continued, in which the number of Catholic students entering university grew significantly. The proportion of students from the working-class also increased. Margaret Thatcher's government considered housing policy its priority in the years 1981 to 1987. It supported the private ownership of real property, construction in the private sector and reconstruction of the housing stock. During this period, almost all examined aspects of housing improved. Prague Spring Competition - oboe category

This master´s thesis discusses the most important czech international music competition Prague Spring which has a worldwide meaning. The competition is at first introduced in the historical context and then the specific chapters are dedicated to the individual years in which oboe was the subject to compete and also has had along with other woodwind instruments its own place in the competition since 1953. This thesis also follows progress of each competition year given within its repertoir in particular rounds, competition rules which were changed frequently, members of jury and mainly its laureates. Important complements to the individual chapters are laureates´ biographies pointing out influence of the competition to their professional artistic careers.

The transformation of czech TV quiz shows

Main task of this work is to find out the answers to the questions of the television quiz shows genre development. The work deals with foreign countries development, but the main attention is fixed to Czech republic and Czech full-area broadcasting media, which emphasise general matters. Concretely these television companies: Česká televize, Nova, Prima a Barrandov. The work emphasises the problem of formats originality. The time spread is since January 1993 to April 2012. A quiz shows development before 1993 is mentioned, but the analysis does not contain that. The analysis shows four copied quiz shows development. These examples uncover the variations of the quiz shows formats copying and domestication. They reveal the rules of the copying and domestication. They show the transformation of the quiz shows during recent years. The work tries to solve a few questions about the Czech quiz shows and their partial problems. Has the hosts behaviour changed? What about the hosts gender? Is there more men or women in the quiz shows? Is the number of recently broadcasted quiz shows higher than the number of the quiz shows, which were broadcasted nineteen years ago? What about the relation of the quiz shows production and social changes? Have the western models affected Czech quiz shows production? If so,...

Gender Analysis of the Status of Women in Iraq - Impact of the Current Conflict on the Life of Iraqi Woman

This thesis is focused on the impact of the current conflict on the status of Iraqi women. It extends my diploma thesis from the year 2007. With the aid of a comparative method, this thesis attempts to compare and contrast the situation of women during the period of Baath regime with the conditions after the US-led invasion. First of all, it discusses a position of feminism within the field of the International Relations and also a general impact of violent conflicts and wars on the situation of women. In comparison with the diploma thesis, a new chapter focused on the role of women in Muslim countries was added. Following chapter is devoted to the status of women prior the Baath regime seized the power. The core part of the thesis consists of the chapters 4 and 5 which include several sub-chapters. Chapter 4 describes the role of women during the rule of Baath regime and Saddam Hussein and it is structured according to time line. Chapter 5 deals with the situation of women in current Iraq. Compared to the diploma thesis, new data are available and a new sub-chapter focused on the period 2008 - 2010 was added. Transposition and Implementation of selected Provisions of EU Legislation on Value Added Tax in the Czech Law

This thesis contains analysis of selected provisions of the European and Czech legislation on value added tax, with attention to a specific role of invoices in VAT mechanism. The purpose of this thesis is an evaluation of the quality of transposition and implementation of the European law to the Czech legislation and analysis of selected rules and their effect on economic practice. The outcome of this thesis is a proposal of specific amendments to analyzed provisions of both European and Czech VAT law in order to secure businesses' burdens reduction and effective tax collection.

Zdanění příjmů z veřejných rozpočtů u neziskových organizací

The aim of this work is to find an incidence of taxation of public budget revenues on a tax base and a resulting tax by the non-profit making organizations. First is described possible resources financial from public budgets, which non-profit making organizations can receive. The rules of taxation of the public budget revenues and its comparison between corporate and non-profit sector is following. This revenue is not generally taxable by the non-profit making subjects, but there are some exeptions. Next it is analysis of some reasons for not taxation of this revenue. This work describes other revenue taxation because of a finding income tax by this tax payers. The calculation of income tax is analysed on a case study, where I set a values of revenues and expenses. In conclusion I anyses an incidence of taxation of public budget revenues on a tax base and a resulting tax by the non-profit making organizations.
