The Czechoslovak State Secondary School in Great Britain

The Perception of Colours in Deaf Children
Martínková, Michaela ; Jebavá, Jana (advisor) ; Bednář, Miloš (referee)
Název: Cíle práce: Vnímání barev u sluchově postižených dětí The perception ofcolour in deaf children Cílem diplomové práce bylo předložit v teoretické části základní fakta o světě neslyšících a o barvách a jejich vnímání. Anketa číslo 1 obsahovala 9 otázek s možností odpovědí ANO, NE i víceslovních...

Torres, Franchez Lynette ; Káňová, Šárka (advisor) ; Stará, Jana (referee)
The Perceptions of Pre-service Special- and General-Education Teachers on the Inclusion of Children with Special Needs in the Regular Classroom By: Franchez Lynette Torres ABSTRACT The purpose of the study is to explore the perceptions of pre-service special- and general- education teachers in the Philippines about the inclusion of children with special needs (CSN) in the regular classroom. Teacher perception has been found to be a significant factor on implementing inclusion (Norwich, 1994; Elliot, 2008; Avramidis & Norwich, 2002). However, studies on this topic are lacking in the Philippines. The study employed a mixed method approach using both semi-structured interviews and survey using an adapted version of Saloviita's (2015) Teacher Attitudes to Inclusion Scale. The interviews were analysed using a thematic analysis and the survey data was analysed using two-way t-tests. The study determined that pre-service teachers in the Philippines had different sentiments about their prior experience and training on teaching CSN. Participants also had different definitions and understanding of inclusion. Moreover, the participants shared their concerns about the lack of sufficient teacher training and the current educational situation of the country as potential barriers to implementing inclusion. Lastly, the...

Home Individual Education
Cihlová, Andrea ; Michalová, Zdena (advisor) ; Housarová, Blanka (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is to describe individual education in relation to home or otherwise educated children. Education whilst compulsory, however, does not by law mean that it must take place in a formal school. Pupils educated away from formal schools are described as, 'educated otherwise'. Their compulsory education does not take place at school, but at home, where a parent becomes teacher. For my active research I compared the legislations in both the Czech Republic and Great Britain (England). I also organised interviews with parents experienced with home education. Pointing out typical diferencies of individual edcucation in both countries, this is a consequence of this work. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Living conditions for children from sociocultural disadvantaged families
Podstawková, Edita ; Koťátková, Soňa (advisor) ; Mazáčová, Nataša (referee)
In my paper, I focus on children and families, who are socially and culturally disadvantaged. I am trying to explain their living and educational conditions and the way these families bring their children up. In the theoretical part, I mention families with majority society background as well as Roma family - as there are a great number of these families in our society and they have the status of being socially and culturally disadvantaged. To point out the difference in upbringing in these families I also analyse the needs of a child. That enables us to see which needs of a child are not fulfilled in the socially and culturally disadvantaged families. The chapter on the rights of a child should remind us of the fact, that we are all equal regardless of skin colour or of temporary crisis life situation that makes us become socially disadvantaged. In the next part, I write about education of the socially and culturally disadvantaged children. There is description of what kind of education there is for them in our society, if there are appropriate conditions for them or if they differ from the majority society and how this problem is dealt with by the Czech Ministry of Education. The last chapter is focused on the social issue. I mention the help that these families can claim from the government....

Usage of local green environment in teaching of science at primary school
Míčková, Jana ; Skýbová, Jana (advisor) ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee)
This paper titled: "Usage of local green environment in teaching nature science for 1st-4th grade at elementary schools" focuses on the local environment and its surroundings. It deals with the practical use of local regional knowledge when teaching nature science at elementary school (1st-4th grade). In the theoretical part, I look at green vegetation division and the role of nature science as a subject at elementary school. In the research part, I analyse whether there are enough ways for recognising timber species, and evaluate children's awareness of timber species. In the practical part, I highlight how I intergrate theoretical findings in teaching with practical applications in the classroom and expand on this further through the use of walks as work methods in nature science. This pedagogical approach develops students' relationship with their village and its close and distant surroundings.

Analysis of foreign language interactions in the context of early immersion. Qualitative research of communication strategies based on videorecording.
KŘIKAVOVÁ, Alena
This diploma thesis focuses on teaching German language to preschool children in Czech nursery schools. The theoretical section defines the conditions of early foreign language learning and opinions on it, and presents arguments for early German as a second language learning. Suitable methods for education of preschool children are discussed as well. The aim of this thesis is to determine and compare how early foreign language learning is realized in particular preschool institutions, based on the information from videos made within the project "Intercultural education of children, students and teachers". E.g. whether the children understand instructions given in foreign language and the teacher's speech, the extent to which the communication takes place in German within the group, which activities are most often used, the ways or forms of implementation of these activities and whether they meet the conditions of early foreign language learning. The diploma thesis summarizes the education methods of individual preschool institutions and identifies potential mistakes made, and it suggests more effective ways of teaching.

Domestic violence and the impact on its victims
Kirejevová, Iva ; Mašát, Vladimír (referee) ; Hubertová, Lucie (advisor)
Domestic violence is one of the essential problems of our society. Domestic violence is determined by high prevalence, enormous latency and great victimization impact. The aim of my thesis is to describe the psychological aspects of the victims of domestic violence. I presume that long-term psychological and physical violence has a crucial influence on the psycho-somatic health of the victim. I am aware of the fact that this problem does not concern only battered women. Nevertheless I want to devote my attention to them, because they are one of the most affected. In my thesis I deal with following effects of victimization of battered women. The victim usually faces fear, stress, pain, anxiety, uncertainty, shame and feelings of hopelessness. These symptoms consequently lead to loss of self-confidence, to confusion of standard values and life perspectives. The woman is confronted with apathy and self-destructive tendencies. This results in woman's incapability to effectively react to experienced violence. This phenomenon is called Battered Women's Syndrome. This syndrome can be summed up in four general points: 1. The woman believes that the violence is her fault. 2. The woman has an inability to place the responsibility for the violence elsewhere. 3. The woman fears for her life and/her children's lives. 4....
