Bypass - Rosice
Plucarová, Eva ; Všetečka, Martin (referee) ; Holcner, Petr (advisor)
The goal of the bachelor`s thesis is to design and rationalize a bypass of the road SI/23, which will divert transit traffic from Rosice. The town is situated approximately 25 kilometres west of Brno, in the South Moravian region. The assigned task is to work out a case study that deals with the routing and height solution of the bypass, which shall connect to the existing road SI/23 this way: in the west - between the village Zástávka and the town Rosice, in the east - in the area of the intersection with the road II/394. The route should be designed to make best possible use of the space reserve allotted in the local development plan and also to minimise the construction expenses as well as its environmental impact.

Social Media as a New Instrument to Influence Brand Value
Sizikova, Evelina ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Jurek, Martin (referee)
With the rising power of Internet and especially social media which includes different communities, blogs, portals(1) , etc., nowadays brand value, - its creation and control, is not in the hands of the companies anymore, but is shifted to the consumers. One aim of this paper is to investigate and try to prove the existence of social media influence on brand value. Another goal is to introduce a different vision of brand value in connection with Internet and the rise of social media's influence on consumer's minds. For the purpose of this research the terms brand value and brand equity would bear equal meanings. My theory, which I would like to introduce, was borrowed from biology and physics, namely from I.P. Pavlov's studies and his conditioned reflex theory(2) and the physics part is based on the dispersion of light theory which was first introduced, as we know, by Isaak Newton(3). I dare to say, that nowadays creation of brand value in consumer minds works the same way. When someone, man or woman, hears a brand name, a picture and a feeling, either positive or negative is immediately formed in the person's mind from personal experience with this brand. If not, then the brand is an unfamiliar one, thus we have to rely on a provided opinion, which was previously usually conveyed to us by family, relatives and close friends while recently, also by our growing virtual community. At the beginning of the thesis, I will present the theoretical background and data on World Wide Web and social media, followed by a concise description of some of the existing brand equity models, afterwards introducing my own vision on significant brand value components, elaborating on this theory with the help of relevant case studies and researches. Brand equity has generally been defined as "a brand's power derived from the goodwill and name recognition that it has earned over time, which translates into higher sales volume and higher profit margins against competing brands"(4). Further on in the second chapter I will bring together more definitions on brand equity/value to be able to propose a modified one, components of which will be discussed thoroughly in the same chapter. The main goal of my Master Thesis is to analyze the existence of a dependency between social media and brand value. A second goal is to assess whether the impact is a positive or a negative one or is a mixture of both.

Musculoskeletal System Dysfunction in Patients in Long-Term Remission of Wilms Nephroblastoma
Šafářová, Marcela ; Kolář, Pavel (advisor) ; Véle, František (referee) ; Eckschlager, Tomáš (referee)
Musculoskeletal System Dysfunction in Patients in Long-Term Remission of Wilms Nephroblastoma Objective: The objective of this retrospective clinical study was to describe the multidisciplinary program of childhood cancer survivors in their young adult age in an adult-based ambulatory medical setting and to report the latent sequelae of the pathology. The hypothesis is that the treatment with all three modalities (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery) causes the development of the latent effects in varying degrees. The goal of this study was to investigate the typical musculoskeletal system changes of survivors of Wilms Nephroblastoma who had previously received their basic treatment more than 5 years ago. Design: 151 subjects underwent clinical assessment of body posture, postural tests and evaluation on BalanceMaster® force plate. These tests were conducted in conjunction with other clinical evaluations, namely, pulmonary and renal function tests, immunology deficiency and exercise capacity to seek its relationship to the diseases' risk factors. The correlation between postural findings and the above clinical tests were investigated. Subjects: Ambulatory patients with a primary diagnosis of nephroblastoma who have undergone treatment greater than 5 years ago. Settings: Clinics at the University...

Cut & cover LRT tunnel in Norway
Zetková, Simona ; Růžička,, Pavel (referee) ; Uhrin, Michal (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to design and assess a Cut and Cover tunnel for light rail traffic underpassing a busy road. The tunnel is a part of route extension to the airport. As a part of the design it is required to assess ground conditions, design phasing of constructions, demonstrate construction sequence, perform simplified structural analysis, compare drained and undrained tunnel design alternatives and draw reinforcement schemes. All mentioned requirements were successfully accomplished with help of corresponding Eurocodes, books and technical advice. According to structural analysis it was possible to design a structure which meets the requirements of rail traffic and local geological conditions. The phasing was designed such that the impact on traffic on the road is minimal. Using the high quality concrete and reinforcement bars enabled designing sustainable and safe structure for the planned traffic. The comparison of the alternatives demonstrated that both design alternatives are feasible and realistic. When internal forces are compared, it is obvious that higher values occurred on undrained alternative, and therefore cross-sections would have to be enlarged or the structure would have to be more reinforced, which would increase its price. Important advantage of drained alternative is easier construction. On the other hand, the impact on the environment would be much lower with the undrained tunnel.
