Subculture of football fans in Czech Republic

TITLE: The subculture of football fans in Czech Republic AUTHOR: Michala Vršecká DEPARTMENT: Social Sciences & Philosophy Dept. SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Zuzana Kubišová ABSTRACT: This thesis focuses on the analysis of football fans Bohemians Praha 1905th. It is divided into two main parts. In the theoretical part of the basic concepts, such as identity, ritual, play, football and club Bohemians Praha, 1905. Additionally, there are specified theoretical concepts such as the concept of we and they, or the concept of mob behavior. In the empirical part was first described research strategy, a strategy of qualitative research, data collection method, the selection of the research sample and maybe critique research. Subsequent data analysis has helped us to answer the research question and to find out the basic characteristics of football fans Bohemians Praha 1905. Communication of AC Sparta Praha,a.s. in 2009-2011

In the opening chapters of this thesis are described the individual components of the marketing and communication mix and also the most important moments in the history of the AC Sparta Praha fotbal, a.s. The main objective of this thesis is the analysis and evaluation of the major factors of marketing communications and public relations methods of the club in 2009-2011 leading to the conclusion that Sparta Praha is from this point of view best functioning club in the Czech Republic. This was achieved by illustrating the development of the number of spectators at matches and number of fans on the social network Facebook and its consecutive comparison with the other club playing in the first Czech football league.

The thesis also shows the marketing of the clubs, marketing mix, promotion, promotion actions and fan base. The data, which I recieved from the clubs, I compare and analyse. From this data I deduce conclusions, which can improve communication and the presentation of the clubs to the public and can help improve attendance. Punk: History, main features and subculture

The bachelor thesis deals with music history of punk and the main participants of the first punk generation, especially with the band the Sex Pistols, it provides comparison of the contemporary and the former punk followers, it creates the overview of the main features and activities related to punk, it examines definitions of the word 'punk' and describes how members of punk subculture act. The thesis is also concerned with connection of punk and political opinions, which is crucial for this music genre. The beliefs of the literary authors are contrasted with experience of the author of the thesis. Analysis and Proposal of Marketing Strategy of PSG Zlín Hockey Club

The Bachelor thesis deals with an analysis and suggestions of marketing strategy for an ice hockey club. The theoretical part concerns itself with the general theory of marketing, specifics and trends of sports marketing. The practical part then analyses the current situation of the club and also results of a questionnaire, which serves as a basis for improving the marketing communications toward fans.
Marketing strategy of professional sports club

This Master's Thesis is focused on sports marketing of professional ice hockey club, which plays the highest league in the Czech Republic. It is ice hockey club called Pirates Chomutov. The aim is to show the status of marketing in a professional hockey club and describe it, analyze the process of changing club's identity and the relocation of this club into a new arena, analyze the marketing environment and create own proposals and recommendations that could be used in future. The theoretical part is based on knowledge of the issues and describes the specifics of the sports marketing and management, marketing environment, marketing mix of this club and the current trends in marketing. The practical part is focused on the process of changing club's identity, organizational and budget structure, analysis of marketing environment and marketing mix with an emphasis on communication. Own proposals, ideas and recommendations are presented at the end of this part. Contribution of this work is revelation of the issues and trends that relate to sports area, studying the topic in one of the fastest growing ice hockey clubs in the Czech Republic. All is completed by own proposals and recommendations.
Analysis of working with fan SK Dynamo České Budějovice

The aim of this thesis is to identify and analyse factors affecting the attendance of domestic football matches of SK Dynamo club České Budějovice. The main emphasis is placed on working with fans. The theoretical part relates to the topic and focuses on the determining factors of demand for sport events, the sport product theory and phenomenon of a fan. The practical part introduces the club SK Dynamo České Budějovice more closely and analyses individual factors affecting demand for the club's matches and defines the significance of these factors. A chapter on working with the fans follows. At first the elements of sport product are characterised and secondly the club marketing elements. The practical section chapters are underpinned by the results of a survey which was carried out among the fans of SK Dynamo České Budějovice. The discourse and conclusion summarize the analysed results, evaluates working with fans and last but not least outlines possible steps for improvements of attendance and working with club's fans.
The Influence of Fans on the Regulation of Professional Football Clubs

The environment of professional football clubs has undergone numerous and considerable changes recently. The changes in ownership structure above else have brought the goals of investors - club owners into conflict with expectations of soccer fans and even jeopardized the survival of professional soccer clubs. The dissatisfaction of football fans has led to attempts to regulate clubs and give the fans a share in the management of the clubs. This dissertation attempts to analyze the conflict between ownership and fans and offers possible solutions. The core of the dissertation is an analysis of the influence of football fans on the sport and the ways in which they may use their economic leverage to participate in the management of clubs. Recently, fans have become more prominent as stakeholders in professional football clubs with the development of the supporters trusts in the British Isles and continental Europe. The dissertation analyzes the regulation tools of Financial Fair Play (FFP), and Supporters' Liaison Officer (SLO), created by the UEFA. It investigates the broader application of these and other regulatory tools for the sport. It offers a model for the measurement of value of fan support to a club. Research conclusions based on a survey of Czech fans are also included and added by recommendations that arise from them.
Work with fans of HC Pardubice

Main goal of this thesis is to describe and analyze factors that influence attendance of sport events (matches) of HC Pardubice with the focus on the work with fans as one of the assumed factors of attendance rate. The theory part si focused on theories which refer to this problem. These are: demand for sport and its determinants, theory of sport product and fan definition. At the beginning of practice part, the thesis describes characteristics of the hockey club. Next chapter deals with factors which influence the attendance rate with the goal to determine the significance of particular factors. Subsequently the thesis analyzes the work with fans with special attention to sport product of the club, its price, sales promotion and other elements of club's marketing. Individual chapters are supplemented by the results of the research of HC Pardubice supporters sample that refer to the content of each chapter. In conclusion, the work with spectators is evaluated and possibilities of spectator care development are propounded.
