Statistical Analysis of High-Frequency Financial Time Series
Langer, Roman ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Kreslíková, Jitka (advisor)
The goal of this Master's thesis is to analyze financial data by focusing primarily on the search of market inefficiencies that may lead to capitalization of found anomalies. The data comes from various sources and they need to be preprocessed. The analysis is based on high frequency time series statistical methods. The resultant characteristics are visualized.
Safe-life extension program for ZLIN Z 126 and 226 airplanes
Jančář, Milan ; Juračka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Augustin, Petr (advisor)
This master's thesis discusses the possibilities of safe-life extension program for ZLIN Z 126 and 226 airplanes, which despite their age and long-end production are still widespread and popular not only in the Czech Republic. The age of these aircraft is also related to the fact, that some aircraft are already approaching its border life, so there is an interest for the longest possible technical and legislative airworthiness. As mentioned in my bachelor's thesis, during the existence of this model series, there was no major damage occurred, except for sporadic exfoliation corrosion of wing flanges. Experience with maintenance of this aircraft points to certain underestimation of the current 5500hrs lifetime and it is obvious to suggest possible steps to increase the current limit. The thesis is therefore considered in this context the possibility of producing new wing flanges made of another material, performed the calculation for wing fatigue exchanged with flanges and designed technological process of this exchange, so that ZLIN Z 126 and 226 airplanes can be safely operated in the future.
Modern coding of speech signals using overcomplete models
Zapletal, Ondřej ; Průša, Zdeněk (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The theoretical contents of this thesis are studies of overcomplete models. Those are the models of signals, on which is set for their parametrization more variables, than it's necessary and consequently there's computed so-called sparse solution via iteration algorithms. A goal of this analysis is a selection just of the considerable (sparse) parameters. The theory is based on a linear algebra, vector spaces, bases and so-called frames. The task of the individual project of this thesis is a description and simulation of two speech coders: a classical coder based on linear predictive speech coding and a coder, that's making use of overcomplete stochastic ARMA processes models. A part of their realization is to simulate their decoders and a analyze their reconstruction quality. For their realization there is used MATLAB and an overcomplete models' library (toolbox frames).
Significance of emergencies modelling using specialized programmes
Ruhásová, Aranka ; Mika, Otakar Jiří (referee) ; Fazekas, Monika (advisor)
The Master's Thesis deals with the usage of various software tools in emergency management and in environmental protection. Nowadays, on every step we make, we can face emergency situations which can cause great harm to the environment as well as to human life and property. The theoretical part provides an overview of software tools. Different software tools, their basic parameters, development and usage are described. There are also explained terms like geographic information system, etc. The practical part is focused on the instruments used in selected countries, including Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, USA, Canada and the United Kingdom. In the conclusion is the comparison of the effectiveness of software tools in emergency management and in environmental protection.
Ranking
Koukal, Petr ; Neumaierová, Inka (advisor) ; Plandor, Josef (referee)
The thesis focuses on the ranking of ten largest companies in the Czech bakery industry. The ranking is made for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 and it is based on the comprehensive evaluation methods, such as credibility models and spread (ROE - opportunity costs). Results are summarized in the conclusion. Marlenka international was evaluated as a company with the best financial situation.
Performance of company in short-term and long-term
ŠIMÁKOVÁ, Kateřina
Diploma work deals with performance of company in short-term and long-term. The goal is to introduce the term of company´s performance, methods of its measuring and ways how to improve firm´s results. It is used profitability ratios and its decompositions, other indicators of financial analysis, model INFA with emphasis to indicator spread, bancruptcy and banking models.
Syndicated loans and their development between 2007 - 2011
Klimša, Petr ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor) ; Janda, Karel (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on syndicated loans. It analyzes mostly the development of syndicated loans during last years from different points of view. Special attention is given to the syndicated loan market in Europe and USA. At the beginning of this paper, it is proved, that syndicated loans are important source of corporate financing. Most important characteristics of syndicated loans are mentioned after that. The chapter three deals with pricing of syndicated loans in the theoretical way. Next chapter concerns with trading of syndicated loans in secundary market in the USA. After that, syndicated loans are given to the relevance to credit derivates. Next chapter analyzes different asspects of the development of syndicated loans during last years. The chapter seven empirically proves the impact of financial crisis on syndicated loans market. There is also a comparison of spreads on syndicated loans market in Europe and USA. Last chapter focuses on the relationship between syndicated loans and GDP.
Evaluation of invasive and expansive plant species occurence on reclaimed land of the Podkrušnohorská dump.
SYRVATKOVÁ, Petra
This bachelor thesis includes mapping of the current rate of giant hogweed at reculticvated areas of ?Velká podkrušnohorská? dump. The mapping was done on terrain errands during 2010-2011. The areas where this dangerous invasive plant grows was targeted by GSP. All the meassured coordinates were then transformed into decimal system and then putted into ArcMap program, which created the map of the actual spread of giant hogweed. In the end there is stated, how big danger there is, around the dump, if the problem wont?t be solved.
