Inscriptions on mural and board paintings in Czech Gothic art of the 14th century

This bachelor's thesis deals with inscriptions on mural and board paintings in Czech Gothic art of the 14th century. The selection of the artworks that meet the set criteria was treated in a form of comparison from different point of views. As a result a set of three separate typological units has been created. Transcriptions and translations of all the inscriptions used in forming the typologies are a part of the work presented.
Use of aorist, imperfect and perfect in Czech prose in the middle of the 14th century

This thesis deals with the use of the aorist and imperfect tenses and the periphrastic preterite in four Old Czech prosaic translated texts dated back to the beginning of the 2nd half of the 14th century. Analyzed texts are the part of the first edition of the Old Czech translation of the Bible (part of the Dresden Bible completed with the text of Proroci rožmberští (Prophets of Rožmberk), the Legend of St. Wenceslaus from The Old Czech Passional, The Apocalypse of Paul and two chapters of the text O svatém Jeronýmovi knihy troje. We deal with the percentual occurence of the verb forms under investigation and with the aspectual characteristics of the verbs of which the investigated forms are constructed. Also their relationship to the Latin pretext is examined. The acquired results are presented in tables and graphs. This thesis also includes an electronic database of the investigated verbal forms.
John Henry, margrave of Moravia, and his wife Margaret of Tropau

This thesis deals with life of John Henry of Luxembourg and his second wife Margaret of Troppau. Their marriage life had important part in politics of Charles IV, who was master of marriage policy. Work is based on sources, in which Margaret of Troppau is mentioned. For example chronicles, acts and bills. First chapter is about terminology of marriage, then there is short chapter about first marriage of John Henry and Margaret, countess of Tyrol. Family of Margaret of Troppau is also mentioned. Main part of the work is about marriage of John Henry and Margaret of Troppau, but we cannot say anything definite. Bachelor work would like get to know family life of margraves, where they lived, how their court looked like or what happened to their children. Legislation in the Tuscany Region in the Trecento: A Long Way from Latin to Volgare

The subject of this diploma thesis is legislation in today's Tuscnay region in the Trecento. Its introductary part focuses on the general political and administrative legal situation in the determined area, the historical excursion also deals with sources of law in the Trecento. The second part focuses on the evolution of the tuscan dialect in the Duecento and Trecento, taking into account legal language as well. The third part is dedicated to legal language itself, to its specifics and peculiarities regarding the lexicon and also morphology and syntax. The final chapter is dedicated to a practical analysis of a legal document from the fourteenth century, Statuti dell'Opera di San Jacopo di Pistoia.

A survey of parallel bilingual texts in connection with determining various translating individualities within the oldest Czech translations

The aim of this article is an attribution survey in case to determine various translating individualities within the oldest Czech translation of the Bible from the mid-14th century, which is a collectively translated text. A survey of a corpus of parallel texts is introduced as a suitable method for deeper investigation of this problem.
Commandery of the Johanit´s order in Strakonice - building history and mural paintings

The theme of submitted bachelor work called "Commandery of the Johanit´s order in Strakonice - building history and mural paintings" are remarkable high medieval mural paintings from first half of 14th century in the building of former Johanit´s commandery in Strakonice. The work deals in detail with formal and iconographic analysis of mural paintings. Besides iconographic analysis the work deals with foreign inspirational influences and binding on creation of illuminated manuscripts as well. The work is enriched by outline construction history of the building, history of Johanit´s order and relations between the Johanit´s order and Bavarian noble family.

Minnesing and court literature at the court of last members of Přemysl's dynasty and the first membe luxembourg's dynasty

Qualifying work has interdisciplinary charakter. This work is concentrate on knowledge of history and culture of age last members of Přemysl´s dynasty and the first members of Luxembourg´s dynasty. The primary aim of work is to identify the conditions under which there is courtly literature and minnesing on the courts of these rulers. Next aim is using the comparative method to define the basic topics in prose and poetry. The secondary aim is recognizing influence of German and Latin literature domestic and foreign on literature written in Czech. The work ?Minnesing and court literature at the court of last members of Přemysl's dynasty and the first members of Luxembourg's dynasty? deals with years 1283?1306 and 1310?1333 taking into account also past years.
