Vizualization of music in animation film

Purpose of this work in to find possibilities of vizualization of music, analyze masterpiece of vizual music. There are written about relationships between arts and five senses ? mostly sight and hearing, to make clear how pictures and music work differently, several experiments of visual music on history, animation films as vizual music, composer inspirated by pictures, and writer inspirated by music. Finally there is mention about meaning of expression of art works in different forms.

Artistic tendencies of Cinematographers in the Czech between the wars and protectorate film

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze creative approaches in selected art major feature movies that were shot in the early sound era by the cinematographers worked in what was then Czechoslovakia. Were selected seven movies representing the most significant creative achievements of almost all cameramen, who at that time in our country worked. The movies are conquering to an analysis of their visual aspects sequentially by the premiere in the movie theaters. Individual works are generally first evaluated using the views of contemporary critics and then they are already subjected to photographic composition and design analysis. In the graphic annex at the end of the thesis is then possible to see reproductions of selected film stills including illustrated film posters from preserved advertising materials.

Solar heating tap water

This bachelor thesis deals with the heating of hot service water by means of solar energy through solar collectors. At the beginning the author describes the most frequent methods for heating of service water in Czech houses with the help of electrical energy, fossil fuel, gas and central heat supply, including the input expenses for buying equipment. The author describes a solar system and his basic elements and suggests two variants with supplement heating by means of electrical energy, which compares with electrical heating of service water. The overall thesis is conceived as a review of possibilities of heating hot service water in households with economical budget at the end of the work.

Life and work of a Silesian photographer and painter Józef Raszka (1875-1929)

The Master thesis deals with life and work of a Silesian photographer and painter Józef Raszka (1875-1929). During the compilation of the thesis emphasis was put on searching and collecting information in archives and finally on their processing into one comprehensive unit. Generally, the thesis is divided into four main parts. The first chapter outlines historical events that took place during Raszka's life in a region he lived in. The other two chapters describe Raszka's life and the research method in detail. All of the chapters mentioned above should introduce this extraordinary and controversial personality to a reader and simultaneously get him/her acquainted with the artist's complicated character and interesting attitude toward life. In the last chapter the findings are applied in order to interpret Raszka's work. The indivisible part of the thesis consists also of a photography illustration and a catalogue that can be found at end of the thesis and which encompasses reproductions of all Raszka's photographs which are known.

The meaning of ideas about the end of the word in the process of conquest and colonization of America

The aim of this diploma thesis is to explore the possible influence of the idea of the end of the world on the process of conquest and colonization of America. The author tries to answer this question through the study of selected images of the Last Judgment. The purpose aim of this thesis is not to describe or stylistically classify given works of art, but to interpret them using the methodology based on the semiotic conception of culture as public symbolical system that allows to interpret the culture and its expressions in their social connections. As the topic of this work is related to the question of death and finality, the chosen works of art are interpreted also in connection with A. van Gennep's idea of "rites of passage", which enables to pass from one life stage to another. The main source for analysis is the photographic material, which illustrates images and reliefs of the Last Judgment in their natural environment.

TITLE The nature of the revolt of The Angry Young Men with reference to selected works of Kingsley Amis and John Osborne AUTHOR Marie Hronová DEPARTMENT Department of English Language and Literature SUPERVISOR PhDr. Petr Chalupský, Ph.D. ABSTRACT This thesis is concerned with the literature of the Angry Young Men. The theoretical part depicts how World War II influenced the political, social and cultural situation of Britain. One of the main topics of this part is the solution of the post-war financial crisis, therefore the Marshall Aid programme and Welfare State policy are examined, just as their impact on the development of social classes in Britain. Further context is provided by the description of political changes in the late 1940s and the 1950s, specifically of the loss of British colonies and the Suez Crisis of 1956. Moreover, the theoretical part contains an analysis of different tendencies in British post-war literature. The main focus is put on the literature of the 1950s and the authors belonging into the movement of the Angry Young Men. More detailed characteristics of this movement is then featured in the practical part. This part deals with the portrayal and criticism of the social, political and cultural situation of the 1950s in Britain, which is expressed in Kingsley Amis's Lucky Jim...

Czech publications of Jean de La Fontaine´s fables and their illustrations

The diploma work is focused on analysis of illustrations in the Czech editions of fables of the French writer Jean de La Fontaine. The first part is based on theoretical approach, dealing with the definition of the fable as well as with the classicist writer{\crq}s life, his literary work, his contribution to the literature of the 17th century and events that influenced them fundamentally. The diploma work makes the reader acquainted with the acceptation of Fables by the public and what La Fontaine intended to tell them by his literary work. Because the Fables are the kind of genre where the illustration is one of the basic elements, the diploma work presents also a brief history of illustration in the literary work, especially in the Fables and concentrates on how the illustrations correspond to writer´s intention. This work deals also with the most successful French Fables illustrators. The practical part of this work consists in analysis of all the Czech editions, their division in illustrated and non illustrated editions and the detailed description of chosen illustrated titles and their common features and differences. The last part evaluates the originality of these editions and the results of the analysis.

The Bachelor's Thesis A Dystopian Prediction of Inevitable Future in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World is a thorough analysis of Huxley's masterpiece Brave New World. The work focuses on discovery of all the inspiration which could Huxley find in his life, in the society of the United States of America and in other thematically similar works of his time that could be taken as inspirational for writing the novel. Main literary works - Men Like Gods (1923) by H. G. Wells and We (1924) by Yevgeny Zamyatin, that are often mentioned with Brave New World, are analysed regarding possible inspiration in them and compared with Brave New World.

Díla Maffea Pantaleoniho vybrané otázky

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na významnou italskou osobnost, Maffeo Pantaleoni, a na jeho velký vklad do italské a světové ekonomie. V práci jsou také popsané dva z mnohých problémů, kterými se zabýval italský ekonom na konci 19. a na počátku 20. století; jeho přátelství s Vilfredem Paretem a o skandálu Římské banky, ve kterém Pantaleoni hrál jednu z hlavních rolí. Maffeo Pantaleoni zdůrazňuje důležitost výchozích a konečných pozic pro ekonomické subjekty v díle Výchozí a konečná pozice. Kde ekonom analyzuje a snaží se aplikovat vzájemné působení výchozích a konečných bodů krátkodobých a dlouhodobých časových intervalů v ekonomickém aspektu pomocí příkladů a alegorie. Pomocí druhého díla Některé fenomény ekonomické dynamiky Maffeo Pantaleoni pokračuje ve studiu ekonomů neoklasiků, kteří přesně definovali pojem statiky, a uvádí a vysvětluje dynamiku druhého druhu. Tady autor klade důraz hlavně na vliv rostoucí poptávky na dimenzi podniku a na rozdělení hlavních a specifických výdajů. V obou případech Maffeo Pantaleoni je proti státnímu zásahu a vystupuje pro "svobodnou" ekonomii.

The use of audiovisual work for a promotion of fashion blogger and her brand on the Internet

This bachelor thesis deals with options of using audiovisual work for a promotion of fashion blogger and her brand. The first chapter of the theoretical part is summarizing important pieces of knowledge about blogging and social networks. The second chapter is dedicated to audiovisual work, its production chain and distribution of videos on the Internet. There is an analysis of Czech and world's fashion blogs in the beginning of the practical part to find out what are the actual trends in the fashion industry. The practical part describes the process of creating videos for the blog of a fashion designer. In the end it also evaluates the impact of videos on success of the fashion blog.
