Title: Basic anthropometric characteristics of 400 m and 800 m runers. Student: Bc. Vendulka Praská Supervisor: PaedDr. Jitka Vindušková, CSc. Objectives: The main objective of this dissertation is comparison of anthropometric characteristics of 400m and 800m runners. Another objective is analysis of relation between somatometric parameters and physical performance of 400m and 800m runners. Methods: In this thesis was used comparison method of athletes' body characteristics using graphs and correlations of anthropometric characteristics with physical performance. Results: We found, that average body height and weight of 400m run athletes is 1,84 m and 73 kg for men and 1,70 m and 60 kg for women. Average body height and weight of 800m run athletes is 1,77 m and 65 kg for men and 1,66 m and 53 kg for women. Furthermore we found by using statistical calculations that there is a direct relation between body height, weight and physical performance. SUMMARY: Title: Monitoring of the sports performance of the best czech hurdler, P.Svoboda, on 110 metres hurdles. Made by: Petra Matějková Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. Objectives: The goal of the paper has been an analysis of the sports performance between the years 2002 - 2010 and selected kinematics parameters of the hurdler Petr Svoboda. Methodology: Content analysis of the results of hurdle races between 2002-2010 was used in this work. The best result values and the arithmetic average of the 5 best results each year were compared. I also made the analysis of technical parameters of the hurdle overrun evaluating all the overrunning phases on the basis of watching. Then the measuring of selected kinematics parameters had been made which was later compared with the results of other European hurdlers. Conclusion: The results of the paper show that during the monitored period the sports performance decreased at first but then increased significantly. The analysis of the hurdle overrun style in the years 2009 and 2010 shows a certain improvement between the two years.
