Complementary cooperation, the Cardano's world, and the incompletness
Rajchl, Jaroslav
The Cardano’s world (CW) is characterized by the well known phrase about the triadicity of all the good and bad! It contains a cubic nonlinearity (NL) as its mainbase, together with the linear, bilinear and quadratic components (i.e. the positive and negative solutions). All these components are fundamental for its dynamical cooperative and relative stability as a system. But, the relation between its quadratic and cubic (NL) is, as has been shown previously, of paradoxical nature (Rajchl 2006), which is the source of dynamical evolution of (CW). It is shown that such a system is incomplete in the sense, that it evolves behind its relative stability state (dimension 3) to the deterministic chaos.

Species palatability, life history traits and litter decomposition rate
PÁLKOVÁ, Kateřina
Palatability of 20 meadow plant species was assessed in the slug grazing experiment conducted. Monocots exhibited significantly lower palatability than dicots. Litter decomposition rate was assessed in the field litter-bag test. Linear regression analysis was performed to answer the main question whether species palatability is related to litter decomposition rate and whether it is determined by the carbon or nitrogen content. Phylogenetically independent contrasts were used to eliminate correlated phylogeny effect. Regression trees were used to detect the effect of species traits on species palatability and litter decomposition rate.

The Effect of Non-Linearity Between Credit Conditions and Economic Activity on Density Forecasts
Franta, Michal
This paper examines the effect of non-linearities on density forecasting. It focuses on the relationship between credit markets and the rest of the economy. The possible non-linearity of this relationship is captured by a threshold vector autoregressive model estimated on the US data using Bayesian methods. Density forecasts thus account for the uncertainty in all model parameters and possible future regime changes. It is shown that considering nonlinearity can improve the probabilistic assessment of the economic outlook. Moreover, three illustrative examples are discussed to shed some light on the possible practical applicability of density forecasts derived from non-linear models.

Testing the impact of quarterly results and analysts' expectations on prices of selected equities
Šoltés, Viktor ; Radová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Musílek, Petr (referee) ; Krabec, Miroslav (referee)
The aim of the article is to find the relationship between the growth and decline in the share price during the promulgation period of quarterly results of companies and surprise, either positive or negative in the quarterly results. Quarterly results are compared with the forecasts of analysts who publish their forecasts for quarterly results at Thomson Reuters. Relationship is confirmed statistically, where stock returns in the period is the dependent variable, independent variables are three -- return of the corresponding market index, excess impact -- measure of surprise in quarterly results in comparison with analysts' estimates and VIX index. Linear regression is used for testing of return and GARCH model is used for testing of volatility, there is focus on adaptation of actual volatility to the long-term average volatility after accidental shock.

Similarity Search in Protein Structure Databases
Galgonek, Jakub ; Skopal, Tomáš (advisor) ; Porto, Markus (referee) ; Svozil, Daniel (referee)
Proteins are one of the most important biopolymers having a wide range of functions in living organisms. Their huge functional diversity is achieved by their ability to fold into various 3D structures. Moreover, it has been shown that proteins sharing similar structure often share also other properties (e.g, a biological function, an evolutionary origin, etc.). Therefore, protein structures and methods to identify their similarities are so widely studied. In this thesis, we introduce a system allowing similarity search in pro- tein structure databases. The system retrieves, given a query structure, all database structures being similar to the query structure. It employs several key components. We have introduced a novel similarity measure assigning similarity scores to pairs of protein structures. We have designed specific access method based on LAESA metric indexing and using the proposed measure. The access method allows to search similar structures more effi- ciently than when a sequential scan of a database is employed. To achieve further speedup, the measure and the access method have been parallelized, resulting in almost linear speedup with the respect to the number of available cores. The last component is a web user interface that allows to accept a query structure and to present a list of...

RADIATION PROTECTION OF PATIENT WITH USING INTENSITY MODULATED RADIOTHERAPY (ImRT) {--} DOSIMETRIC VERIFICATION OF TREATMENT PLAN.
KLEČKOVÁ, Naděžda
Nowadays more and more radiotherapy departments use intensity modulated beams for treatment of patients. Intensity modulated radiotherapy (ImRT) is able to modificate intensity of radiation across the iradiated field. In this way it is posible to achieve better dose conformity than in conventional radiotherapy. Implementation of ImRT allows us to escalate dose to target volume with same side effects of organs at risk as in conventional radiotherapy or to reduce normal tissue complication - decrease dose to organ at risk with the same tumour dose. This fact reguires extension of our guality system to all network of delivery dose to patients, inclusive linear accelerator with multileaf collimator, treatment planning system, electronic portal imaging device and so on. Quality assurance is guaranteed both periodical user tests and independent verification of The State Office for Nuclear Safety. The aim of this work is finding the optimal and effective way for the verification treatment plans, determining criteria for evaluation measured results, proposing summary all aspects of radiation protection patients which are treate ionisation beams with intensity modulated radiotherapy. The optimization one of the principles of radiation protection will be provided by routin verification treatment plans.

Financial relations between the state budget and local budgets
Bureš, Jiří ; Boháč, Radim (advisor) ; Marková, Hana (referee)
65 9. RESUMÉ Budgetary structure presents collection of the state budget, there are some links between them, although the concrete budgets are relatively independent. It is possible to observe their connections because there are some financial relations. On the local level we speak about a budget of municipalities and regions and then about budgets of subjects which develop on behalf of these regions. The state budget is constituted for the whole state, but there are some other budgets eg. budget of municipalities, budgets of voluntary bonds of municipalities etc. Budgetary structure consists of many different budgets, the most important role is playing the state budget. The state budget can be defined in many ways. A budget can be described as a financial plan, a balance sheet, monetary fund or a means of financial policy or means of government. There should be also defined its relation to budget of EU and to a budget of regions. The capital can be transfered among the budgets. If the subsidies are given by state to a local government, there are lots of tasks, which have to be fullfiled. The subsidies can represent an act of solidarity between the concrete budgets. The state budget and the local budgets are connected with the budget of EU. It is realized by structury funds and the Fund of solidarity. Their...

Possibilities of Independence and Reintegration of Clients Using Long-term Transitional Housing for Homeless People - Focusing on Prague
Brabencová, Eva ; Kodymová, Pavla (advisor) ; Davidová, Ivana (referee)
Diploma thesis Possibilities of independence and reintegration of clients using long term transitional housing for homeless people - focusing on Prague deals with problem of barriers in a reintegration process of homeless people. It is a primarily unavailability of follow up affordable housing and non-existent system of social housing in the Czech republic. The consequence is long term remain in the transitional housing or in a hostel without possibility of full return to the society. This problem is not resolved neither providing social benefits for housing. Because often the people in need don't get them or the benefits are abused by the owners of the hostels. This metod of solving is very overpriced and unpromising for the future. The solution could be creating a system of the social housing, which would include a few levels of housing which would follow one another. The top would be an ordinary affordable housing. Integral parts of social housing are supporting social services which follow needs of each client. This diploma thesis introduces several projects which are closest to the social housing. The important part of these projects is cooperation with a local authority. There is essential interest of politicians of homelessness to support these activities and interact. For this reason the...

Resonance behaviour of spherical pendulum – influence of damping
Fischer, Cyril ; Náprstek, Jiří ; Pospíšil, Stanislav
Experimental and numerical model of a uni-directionally driven pendulum-based tuned mass damper is presented in the paper. Stability of the motion in a vertical plane is analysed in the theoretically predicted resonance region. For the experimental part, special experimental frame is used, allowing independent change of linear viscous damping in the both perpendicular directions. Mathematical model respects the non-linear character of the pendulum and allows to introduce asymmetrical damping. Sensitivity of the resonance behaviour on the change of damping in both directions is studied and commented in the paper. The stability of the system is analysed experimentally and compared with numerical and theoretical results.
