Awareness and attitudes of Mydlovary residents resulting from risks of radioactivity leak from the former uranium ore processing plant MAPE Mydlovary
HUSOVÁ, Iva
In South Bohemia, near the Czech town of České Budějovice, in close vicinity of municipalities of Mydlovary, Nákří, Olešník, Zahájí and Dívčice, there are 286 ha of uranium tailings impoundments, along with the former uranium ore processing plant known as MAPE Mydlovary. Althought this company terminated its operation in 1991, significant tailings impoundments contaminants, such as dust, radon emissions and gamma radiation are being found here. Nevertheless, radon emissions still represent a risk to the population in the neighborhood and airborne radon poses a risk also to other areas. Therefore, residents in a wide neighbourhood have long been loaded with increased doses of radiation. The thesis deals with negative consequences of the former uranium ore processing plant MAPE Mydlovary on human health and also describes the process of clearing works in progress in the locality. In this thesis, the level of awareness of Mydlovary residents, their opinions and attitudes to the damaged area are also mentioned. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused first on a brief description and history of the former uranium ore plant, the consequences of the MAPE Mydlovary activities and associated risks (e.g. higher doses of radon), which put inhabitants of nearby villages under threat. The next section provides information on the residents´ attitudes to decontamination works performed at the site and associated problems. The practical part of this thesis is devoted to the research, the aim was to determine if and to what extent Mydlovary residents are aware of the potential damage to land, water, air, and a possible negative impact on their health. The research also provides information on the residents´ attitudes to decontamination works at the site and about the preferred usage of the damaged area after decontamination is completed. The research was conducted by addressing 73 residents of Mydlovary in the period from January to March 2010. The results prove a relatively high awareness of Mydlovary residents about negative effects of radioactive substances and hazardous contaminants on their health, and also point to a lack of the respondents´ awareness about decontamination works and outline the current worries of Mydlovary residents.

Kontrast zrn na velmi nízkých energiích v REM
Pokorná, Zuzana ; Frank, Luděk
When lowering energy of incident electrons to 100 eV and less, the elastic scattering becomes heavily anisotropic while the inelastic scattering progressively drops off. Energy dependence of the reflected signal becomes then specific to the crystal orientation. The experiments with the imaging of the metal polycrystals were done in the SEM equipped by the cathode lens.

It depends on what "consious" means: Methodology of unconscious perception research
Špok, Dalibor
Research on unconscious cognitive processes has been a controversial topic since the foundation of experimental psychology. However, we cannot consider it a psychological relict, but developing realm of research, with ongoing conceptual and methodological progress. This paper chiefly presents methodological approaches having been developed mainly since 1980’s and thus illustrates not only vivacity of contemporary research but also interrelatedness of methodological changes with conceptual frameworks. It shows that it is necessary to change our traditional view of some psycholocial categories, such as perceptual thresholds or conscious-unconscious distinction.

HANČLOVÁ, Svatava
A social rehabilitation in the Seniors´ Home Máj in České Budějovice A social rehabilitation is a complex of activities encouraging an independence, self-sufficiency and social integration of clients of the Seniors´ Home. An aim of the thesis is to evaluate a progress of the social rehabilitation in the Seniors´ Home Máj in České Budějovice. A qualitative research was carried out to achieve objectives of the thesis. Five clients were chosen in order to determine a subjective evaluation of the social rehabilitation. Semi-standardized interviews were conducted with them. An observation method was applied at their engaging in activities in the Seniors´ Home as well as at seniors outside this facility, and a method of document analysis. Obtained information has been contained in case studies and they were analysed by using a grounded theory. Semi-standardized interviews were also conducted to find out attitudes of the professional staff and managers to the social rehabilitation. Factors affecting clients´ social functioning were also monitored in a course of the observation. Information from the interviews with the staff and the observation were again analysed through a method of the grounded theory. The thesis confirms findings of similarly oriented researches. It shows that the course of the social rehabilitation is influenced by institutional, personal and economic influences. The effect of applied methods and techniques of the social rehabilitation depends on an approach of the staff as well as clients and a quality of the clients´ social relations. The research has proven that an integration of clients in the facility as well as outside is supported by a wide offer of leisure time activities. Even if the clients in the Seniors´ Home have enough opportunities for mutual meetings, they are not usually successful in establishing a fully-fledged friendship and they often feel lonely. Although there is encouraged self-sufficiency per clients´ individual needs in the Seniors´ Home Máj, therapeutic activities are conducted and clients participate in physical activities, their level of self-sufficiency reduces. Results of the diploma thesis are stimulating for the staff of the Seniors´ Home Máj as well as for other social service founders and providers.

A technological progress in the large area growth of diamond films and carbon nanotubes by the modified linear antenna MW system is presented. We show a correlation between process parameters and nano- or poly-crystalline film character. A challenging part, diamond coated mirrors or ATR prisms, are shown as multifunctional optical elements suitable for detection of absorbed molecules. Additional positive feature of the presented plasma system is low temperature hydrogen functionalization of diamond films. Finally, we present that combination of pulsed MW plasma with radiofrequency substrate biasing results in growth of oriented CNTs over large area.

Patients knowledge about their rights during hospitalization in medical institution
ADAMCOVÁ, Eliška
Current situation: "As a result of social, economic, cultural, ethical and political progress, a movement for improvement and full utilization of patients' rights ensued (1. s. 56 )" . For a patient to know his legal rights may lead to his speedy recuperation as well as a psychological comfort. From my personal experience I know that, in the nursing patient´s case history records regarding familiarity with their rights, the corresponding column is but checked through without informing the patient about his rights. As well, I know the patient´s feelings in the absence of this information. Therefore, I wish to address this problem and furthermore, I wish to contribute to changes in this situation through this research. Research Aim: The aim of this research undertaking was to find out if patients know their rights and if they can describe them. Further, the research aimed at finding out if, upon admittance to healthcare facilities, the patients were advised of their respective rights and, if these rights were being observed by the nursing staff. For the purpose of this research aim the following questions were chosen: What is the cognizance of the patients regarding their rights during hospitalization in a healthcare facility? Through what approaches are the patients familiarized with their rights? To what extent do the nursing staffs adhere to the legal rights of the patients while in the hospital? Methodology: For the purpose of this research survey qualitative methodology and analyses of data were chosen. The qualitative study was realized through a technique of in-depths interviews with anonymous individuals. The collection of data took place in July of 2014 in the Hospital in the City of Jindrichuv Hradec. Data analyses were done through an open coding system, utilizing methodology "pencil and paper" (2). Consequently, individual categories of answers were organized in graphic diagrams in SmartArt program. Conclusion: From the research survey it is evident that, the patients lack knowledge about their rights. The reason for this rests in an incorrect education of patients by nursing staff upon admittance. Nevertheless, adherence to patients' rights within the wards under questioning meets good standards. This work should contribute to better familiarization with the rights; thus increasing the herein mentioned knowledge of the rights of the patients.
