The first group consists of players who come into contact with children at risk as a first (doctor, police, etc.)....

Significance of MLL gene aberrations in patients with acute myeloid leukemia
Šárová, Iveta ; Březinová, Jana (advisor) ; Král, Jiří (referee)
4 ABSTRACT Significance of MLL gene aberrations in patients with acute myeloid leukemia In acute myeloid leukemia (AML), predominantly in AML M5a, the most frequent recurrent aberration of chromosome 11 involves region 11q23. Molecular breakpoint studies of several translocations involving chromosomal band 11q23 led to the detection of a gene that was named MLL (myeloid/lymphoid leukemia). Since that time, more than 70 different translocation partners of the MLL gene have been described. This gene is important for the proper HOX gene expression during ontogenesis and hematopoiesis. Chromosomal aberrations affecting the MLL gene occur in 5 - 10 % of AML cases and are very variable. Aberrations of the MLL gene are associated with an aggresive type of the disease and its detection is needed for the treatment decision. Therefore, we investigated the occurrence of MLL abnormalities in bone marrow cells of the 66 newly diagnosed AML patients, using conventional cytogenetic and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analyses with a commercially available MLL Break Apart Rearrangement probe (Abbott VYSIS). Out of the 66 patients, we proved MLL abnormalities in 9 (13,6%): 5 (7,6%) showed translocation of MLL gene, in 3 (4,5%) we detected MLL gene amplification without any evidence of rearrangement and in 1 (1,5%)...

The role of nongovernment organizations in realization of environmental education
Hornová, Karolína
name: The role of nongovernment organizations in realization of environmental education autor: Karolina Hornová Abstract: A principal goal of this degrese work was specified a funcion of nongovernment organizations in realization of environmental education. The conclusions were determined on bassis of literature search, analyzing the proposition of learning programmes from aspekt of their issues, realizing an questionnaire research, which engaged in using learning programmes in Liberec region and also stand on creating and evaluatng of the learning programme "Planet Guardians". For realization of environmental education there is important freetime actvity (scouting, nature preservation for young, …) and work of centres for environmental education. The Czech model of working this centres, which are associated in professional web "SSEV Pavučina", is successfull. The proposition of environmental learning programme is wide and it involve a lot of issues, but there is still the tendency of pure ecological programme and there is only a few programmes, which are focused on concrete changes in students life-styles. In our country, we are succesfull in realization of international long-term learning programmes (GLOBE, Eco-school), but there is deficit of our original programmes, although there is demand for them...

Světlík, Pavel ; Pokorný, Jiří (referee) ; Míšková, Alena (advisor)
Operation "Náchod Terror." Files of this name found in the archival resources of the State Security (Státní bezpecnost, StB) document show trials with the so called Karel Rudolf and Karel Vondrácek groups. The case involving a group of private farmers from the village of Litobor and its surroundings became the largest show trial with private farmers in the former Region of Eastern Bohemia. It was conducted in two parts, 26th-27th January and 25th-26th June 1952. The State Court (Státní soud) sentenced 18 people for treason and other criminal acts. Four death sentences were passed, three out of which were carried out and one changed to life sentence. Most of the remaining convicts were condemned to 14 to 20 years imprisonment. In the outcome, the public trials, greatly abused by the regime propaganda, served finally to crush the stubborn opposition of private farmers in the area against the establishing of collective farms (Jednotná zemedelská družstva, JZD).

Conduction of low frequency current - TENS - through human tissues
Černíková, Kateřina ; Pánek, David (referee) ; Malá, Jitka (advisor)
Thesis title: Conduction of low frequency current - TENS - through human tissues Name: Kateřina Černíková The aim of the thesis: The aim of this study is to determine, whether applying low frequency TENS cause the conduction of electrical potential to muscle groups outlaying from the point of irritation. And if the frequency has an influence on the conduction. Subjects and Methods: Application of low-frequency current, namely transcutaneous electrical neurostimulation, in the frequencies of 45 Hz, 121 Hz and 235 Hz - on the paravertebral muscles, on the left side of the body. It's a pilot study involving 6 probands (1 man, 5 women) aged 20-30 years. Electrical activity was measured by surface electromyography. Spectral analysis carried out in the Master MyoResearch XP program was used to evaluate the measured data. Results are graphed for clarity. Results: It was confirmed that the condution of electrical potential in the organism exceeds the site of stimulated muscle. However, these are a very low values to be used in clinical practice. This conduction varies according to the applied frequency. With higher frequencies, electrical current gets more to outlying muscle groups. Furthermore, it was found that the frequency of applied current doesn't appears in the used frequency, but in its multiples....

Impairment of cellular metabolism as common pathophzsiological mechanism of CNS diseases
Hasala, Ondřej ; Otáhal, Jakub (advisor) ; Konopková, Renata (referee)
Name of thesis: Impairment of cellular metabolism as common pathophysiological mechanism of CNS diseases Problem definition: Every human cell needs energy for living. If the prodcution of ATP (as an universal energy carrier) is broken, cell restricts its activity first and during longterm depletion of ATP, dies. It was found, that cellular metabolism is broken in most pathologies in CNS. Disorder of respiratory chain by free radicals is the best known at Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, brain ischemia etc. Mitochondria, where respiratory chain is situated, is not only the aim of free radicals, but it is their major producer. The activity of respiratory chain decreases during the life and this phenomenan is called aging. Aim of thesis: To determine whether there is increased production of free radicals in mitochondria of rat (LE Wistar) hippocampus during the epileptic seizure. Method: Thesis involves experiment which was done with acute rat hippocampal slices. To induce epileptic seizure it was used 4-aminopyridine model. It was used fluorescence imaging as imaging method. Changes of superoxide production was detected with MitoSOX. Electrophysiological record was taken by programme Spike 2 with stimulation and recording electrode inside the slice. Results: There was no significant difference between...

Non-standard problems in mathematics education
Horkel, Jan ; Zapotilová, Eva (referee) ; Tichá, Marie (advisor)
My diploma-work wants to deal with non-standard task in math area. Theoretical part of this work wants to define the meaning of this term and summarize works and statements of contemporary experts. It want to name and divide the most important types of non-standard tasks, try find sources of them and find advantiges and difficulties of using them in teaching of math. Description of task-solving process and motivation in general are also involved. Practical part of my diploma work consists of analyse of children's solution of selected non-standard tasks and questionaires, that were given to teachers, to get a brief look into a reality of using them in teaching of math. .
