Weather Forecast Mashup
Gajdušek, Radek ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Kajan, Rudolf (advisor)
The goal of bachelor's thesis "Weather forecast - mashup" is the design and implementation of application, which gathers data from multiple sources in XML format using Silverlight technology. In addition to the description of the individual stages of application development the thesis also contains the clarifying of the term mashup, analyses Web 2.0 and defines the basic terms of weather forecast. Attention is paid to Silverlight and its comparison with the main competitor in the market. The thesis also includes the evaluation of the achieved results, together with thinking about the future possible application development.
Simple FITkit Based Weather-Station
Podivínský, Jakub ; Mičulka, Lukáš (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis, the design and implementation of FITkit-based home weather-station is presented. In the thesis, various methods of measuring meteorological quantities are detailed and discussed together with advanteges and disadvantages of common electronic sensor parameters. Then, weather forecast methods are classified and principle of a simple weather-forecast algorithm based on the atmospheric pressure measurement and analysis is described and discussed according to its realization by the means of the FITkit platform. At the end of the thesis, design and realization of an additional hardware needed to operate the station on basis of FITkit is described.
Short-Term Forecast Based on Image of Sky
Volf, Martin ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Hradiš, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis submitted is dedicated to weather forecast based only on a video stream. At first, basic weather information which the sky can provide are presented. Cloud types including their properties and methods which the sky can most efficiently describe are dealt with. At second, basic circumstances between weather information are discussed. The objective of this work is to prove accuracy of the methods used for gaining data from the video stream and to find out whether it could be possible to use them for forecasting the rain, air humidity and sunshine for the period of time one hour later.
Flight Management System Model
Vytvoření predikčního modelu předpovědi počasí pomocí neuronové sítě a asociačních pravidel
Kadlec, Jakub ; Rauch, Jan (advisor) ; Berka, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis introduces three different methods of creating a neural network binary classifier for the purpose of automated weather prediction with attribute pre-selection using association rules and correlation patters mining by the LISp-Miner system. First part of the thesis consists of collection of theoretical knowledge enabling the creation of such predictive model, whereas the second part describes the creation of the model itself using the CRISP-DM methodology. Final part of the thesis analyses the performance of created classifiers and concludes the proposed methods and their possible benefits over training the network without attribute pre-selection.
It's Gonna Rain: Analysis of Determinants of Pool Attendance in Czech Republic
Hyneš, Ondřej ; Hudík, Marek (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
This paper reveals by econometric analysis the determinants of pools attendance and analyzes them. In a sample of attendance of ten pools in the Czech Republic for three summer months concludes that, among others, the weather forecast, specifically the rain forecast, for the day significantly affects attendance. Although rain forecast is only for a less than a third of the observations consistent with actual rainfall observed in the day, visitors over time do not adjust their expectations and forecast is playing an important role. This may be due to rational ignorance or the high cost of transmission of information among visitors.
Meteorological quantities measurement
BEZDĚKA, Vladimír
The thesis consists of 95 pages and 41 pages of enclosure. Pictures, charts and colour graphs are included. The thesis and the enclosure contain data presented in charts and from the charts graphs have been made. Also, internal material provided by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, České Budějovice 7, Antala Staška 1177/32 is incorporated, as well as data from two amateur weather-stations situated in České Budějovice and Hluboká nad Vltavou. The objective of this work is to explain and describe measuring apparatus and methods used in meteorology. The work also compares results gained from a professional weather-station with those from an amateur one.
