Analysis of business opportunities in the market for rail passenger transport

European Commission sees further development of rail passenger transport as one of the main pillars for maintaining and further strengthening of competitiveness of Europe. With rail passenger transport, as a growth industry that connects all the other sectors, we can count on further economic development in future while preserving diversity and beauty of European fauna and flora as well as growth in living standards. It was found that the trends in the use of railways in the Czech Republic and advanced European countries are different. The paper assumes that the role of rail passenger transport in the Czech Republic will strengthen in accordance with trends in western countries. The paper analyses the Czech rail passenger transport market. The Prague -- České Budějovice route has been identified as the most suitable for entry of a new private operator. There are strong streams of passengers. After completion of the railway corridor the route will offer extension of activities onto the Austrian market. The paper analyses the competitive environment. The main competitors are RegioJet and LEO Express. The operator can compete using low-cost concept, especially EMU trains. High quality of offered services will also play an important role. Leasing was identified as the most convenient financial instrument. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are summarized in the SWOT analysis.

Registered (prescribed) capital of capital companies, its creation and protection

Résumé Authorized Capital of Stock Companies, its Formation and Protection Czech legal regulations related to authorized capital stem from the European concept of the real formation and preservation of the authorized capital that leads particularly to providing minimum guarantee rate of the stock company to its creditors. Authorized capital is an abstract number and it expresses the financial value of assets invested in the stock capital by its partners. The Commercial Code shall expressly stipulate the duty of authorized capital formation for the limited liability company as well as joint-stock company. The duty to form authorized capital at their formation may be indirectly permitted also for limited partnerships. In professional literature, the three basic functions of authorized capital are traditionally listed. Guarantee function, authorized capital as profit and loss measure and authorized capital as a mean to specify partner's share in the company. The concept of real authorized capital formation adopted by most European legal systems is based on achieving correspondence between the authorized capital and real capital and capital preservation through protective rules. Migration to selected EU countries: Labor market integration

The aim of this master thesis is to analyse the labor market of European Union and its certain countries in relation to the immigration with the backgound of various social welfare models. The paper is analysing the topic of labor market of European Union, integration of immigrants on this market, with focus on economies and labour markets of Sweden, United Kingdom and Germany as countries with high level of immigration that are representing three different social welfare models, such as Nordic model, Liberal model and Conservative model. The main objective of this thesis is the analysis of labor markets in selected countries of the European Union in relation to immigration and their subsequent comparison using the background of different social welfare models. The result is the evaluation of effectivness of the various social models based on statistical data, acquired knowledge and performed comparisons. The thesis is divided into four chapters and contains 13 tables and 8 charts.


Products with Protected Designations of the European Union and Their Position in Regional Tourism

The master thesis deals with products with protected designations of the European Union. The main objective of the master thesis is to evaluate the importance of the chosen product with protected designation of the EU in regional tourism and analyse the perception of the product by a producer and by tourists. The sub-objective is the description of the European system of food labelling. The thesis is divided into five main chapters. The first part explains basic concepts which are related to the thesis. The second chapter introduces the best known food quality labels. Greater attention is devoted to the description of the food protection system of the EU. The third chapter deals with the characteristics of the chosen region Beskydy-Wallachia. The second part of this chapter is focused on the chosen protected product Štramberské uši. The forth chapter includes a structured interview with the chosen producer of Štramberské uši and a survey research, which was conducted in two phases. The last chapter contains the evaluation of the implemented survey. The main finding of this thesis is the fact that a relatively high percentage of respondents know the product Štramberské uši. An interesting finding is the fact that only a small portion of them know that the product Štramberské uši is the holder of the protected designation of the European Union. The chosen producer of Štramberské uši sees the main benefit of the label in greater publicity. Among problems he ranks the enforceability of the label and lack of general promotion of Štramberské uši.

Impacts of invasive plant species on European environment

The DAISIE project in the 6. framework program of the European Union provides valuable data about European invasive species. Invasive plants have various impacts, positive and negative, and effects all four types of ecosystem services (supporting, provisioning, regulating and cultural). Invasive species are also known to cause serious economic looses. Public support from the Czech and Community law perspectives

Resumé The state aid from cognition of Czech and Community law The definition of state aid consist primary the Treaty establishing the European Community (TEC). In article 87/1 TEC is explicit basic signs, which comprehensive: support in any form, attractive act, grant from state resources, possibility violation of contest and influence on members states. It's also referred as primary Community law. It's base on principle "common prohibition" their grant. But exist the three exceptions: compatibility on TEC, block reserve and compatibility by decision of Commission. The secondary legislation includes many regulations, directives and court rulings. Especially I illustrated: statute n. 659/1999/EC, which consists detailed form of article 93 TEC, statute for national regional aid (n. 2006/C 54/08), environment (n. 2001/C 37/03), science and research (n. 2006/C 323/01), employment (n. 2204/2002). The Czech Republic is a member of European Community and that is why must respect above mentioned legislation. The others statutes exists as supplement to community legal rules. As main base present the investment incentives act, n. 72/2000 Col. . But presently be in progress. Quality of life in Roma Children in the Age between 11 and 15 Old Years in České Budějovice.

This work deals with the research quality of life of Roma aged 10-15 years in the České Budějovice. The theoretical section explains the concept of quality of life, it's development and the evaluation. It also describes the history of the Roma ethnic group from the beginning of the Roma migration from Europe to the modern history. This study further describes the Roma culture, the differences between female and male roles in their particle culture, analyzes of the Roma minority and their role in the European Union. The practical part of this study is focused on studying the physical, the mental, the social and the emotional status of the Roma respondents in the age group 10-15 years. This questionnaire survey confirmed the results of the National report on the health of the Roma population in the age group 10-15.

Analysis of drawing contributions from the Regional Operational Programme in the Košice Region 2007 - 2013

Regional policy is becoming one of the strategic priorities of the European Union after its extension. The main tools of the policy are subsidies for less advanced regions in EU. This work aims to evaluate the Regional operational programme in the Košice region during the programming period 2007 to 2013. In the theoretical part author describes the process of forming the European Union, the overall characteristics specified by EU funds and gives basic information on Slovak Republic and Košice Region. The analytical section is dedicated to the characteristics of the Regional operational program. This work compares the individual priority axes of the operational program and the successful utilization of the allocation. For an objective assessment Košice region is compared with other regions of the Slovak Republic at the level of priority axis. Based on the analysis the author reviewed the regional operational programme in the Košice region as successful with space for improvement in the fulfilment of allocations
