Experimental evaluation of prioritization of animal stimuli by human

In some previous studies, felines were evaluated as one of the most beautiful groups of mammals, but at the same time, they were rated as dangerous. Some studies suggest that felines may be among those dangerous animals that are prioritized by humans in terms of faster neural response and preferential processing of visual information. This thesis tests the prioritization of potentially dangerous animals with each other while trying to identify the factors that influence the positive evaluation of felines. It has been found that felines are prioritized among potentially dangerous animals, but the experimental design is very important. Prioritization has not been proven when respondents have followed a different task and the animals have only acted as distractors. Big cats were evaluated as the most beautiful and most feared felines, with morphology, especially the weight of the animal, influencing both of these ratings. The ranking of beauty was also influenced by the presence of the pattern and saturation and lightness of the colors. Compared to viverrids, felines were rated both as more beautiful and more feared. Year with animals in kindergarten Čechtice

This bachelor thesis leads to establishing of yearlong project for children from kindergarten in Čechtice, in which there are introduced selected animals species living in the neighbourhood of kindergarten in Čechtice to children. The aim of this thesis is both introduce animals to children and especially establish positive relationship to living creatures and to nature all around them. This work contains theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is focused on problematics of including animals to kindergartens education and its appropriateness both according to various criteria regarding to needs and capabilities of preschool children and in compliance with Framewok Education Programme for preschool education. In addition it includes information about key animal species. There is described yearlong project in the practical part, which is bound with the class mascot centipede Jůlie and focused on integrated education of children. There are also characteristics of each selected animal with descriptions of activities and reflection.
Forest days in kindergarten Slapy

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make a schedule of Fridays "Forrest days for kindergarten children" from Slapy near Tábor. Theoretical part deals with the influence of nature to children and their all-round development. Further it brings processed information in the form of literary research of history of the city Slapy, Silver nature trail Tábor Horky Větrovy, specific animals, trees and plants around the city Slapy. The practical part creates particular programmes for 5 Forrest days and three of them were realized. Children got to know nature and history of city Slapy and its around.
Possibilities of three-dimensional creation in kindergarten

The aim of the thesis is to introduce and test in practice a variety of options of threedimensional crafts on the topic "Fauna" in kindergarten. The theoretical part deals with the contribution of spatial art, its influence on the development of imagination,thinking and overall personality of the child. Social learning is of great importance, as children cooperate during the activities. The work introduces different kinds of crafts in terms of used material and the environment in which they are created. The practical part focuses on creating three-dimensional crafts of animals. The topic of fauna is very popular with children and they can be extremely enthusiastic about the activities. Individual craft projects are described and documented in detail, as well as evaluated according to the interests and abilities of children and according to educational strategies.

The work is focused on creating a set of teaching materials on the theme "Birds", which are designed for work groups of pupils aged 8-11 years old elementary school under the guidance of a teacher without the presence of the trainer Zoo Hluboká nad Vltavou. File ("teaching package") will provide information and tools used to help demonstrate the approach of the topics dealt directly with exhibitions focusing on birds, guidance and information for teachers and worksheets for children, including solutions. Individual locations are related with biogeography and apply to the specific environment selected birds groups.

Animals as Laboratory Objects: Analysis of the Power Discourse PhDr. Tereza Vandrovcová Abstract This dissertation thesis encompasses a critical discourse analysis of the power correlates of expert knowledge and other factors that can hinder the open and unbiased discussion concerning the ethical aspects of the use of nonhuman animals in biomedical experiments. A brief history of "the animal" is first provided before the issue is positioned within the theoretical framework of Animal Studies. The fourth chapter is composed of an overview of the most frequent arguments both for and against the use of animals in biomedicine. The author draws upon her research as she analyzes scientific texts to reveal how laboratory animals are socially constructed as scientific objects and subsequently describes the effects this has on the perception of their moral value. A series of semi-structured interviews with critics and advocates of animal experimentation, such as animal rights activists and laboratory workers who conduct experiments on animals, is the pivotal section of the paper. Names of Animals in Spanish Phraseology and Idiomatics with Regard to Czech Language

1 Abstract The topic of this thesis is Czech and Spanish phrasemes containing denominations of animals or parts of their bodies. Theoretical part of this thesis deals with delimitation of the concepts of phraseme, idiom etc., it describes the various attitudes to these issues in the Czech and Spanish field. The practical part, which is based on the theoretical premises, focuses on analysis of idiomatic expressions enlisted in a vocabulary attached to the thesis. The practical part further examines the vocabulary from different points of view, focuses on the extent of equivalency among individual idioms, frequency of use in particular languages, affiliation with the specific zoological categories and etymology of selected phrases. The target of this thesis is to identify both the differences and the similarities among the idioms.
Animals as prioritized stimuli in human mind

Stimuli percieved with priority are stimuli which are preferentially percieved by humans, because these stimuli have some emotional valence. These often include stimuli which indicate potential threat for the observer such as dangerous animals. Priority perception in humans is provided by special neural circuits that have arisen during evolution and similiar circuits can be found in phylogenetically older lines of tetrapods. The purpose of this thesis is to describe neural mechanisms of priority perception and to summarize and compare three methodical approaches to this perception as well as summarize the findings that were acquired by these methodical approaches in papers testing the priority perception of animals.
