The bachelor's thesis deals with the problems of international financial organizations, primarily of the chosen financial organizations: The International Monetary Fund, The World Bank, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, The European Investment Bank. In particular chapters the roles, perspectives and problems of the chosen financial organizations are presented. The aim of this thesis is the definition of the international financial organizations, the operating principles, the decision of the current problems, the prediction of further development and perspectives.

World Bank as an International Environmental Organisation?

On the background of the world's evolving view of the terms "environment" and "development", I am analysing the ways the World Bank reacted to this process of evolution, and its reactions to the criticisms aimed on the World Bank's environmental activities. I am analysing the reasons for and outcomes of the World Bank's reforms performed in reaction to that evolution. I am shortly outlining the Principal - Agent model, which I am then applying to the World Bank's case.

The globalization and the function of international organizations

The first chapter of the thesis deals with the theme of the globalization, its development, causes of origin, displays and impacts. Chapter two deals with the International Monetary Fund, its function and its position in the world economy. The third chapter is devoted to the Group of the World Bank, the activity of its particular institutions and the function of this organization. The last chapter deals with the World Trade Organization, its history and its up-to-date activity.

Iniciativa HIPC - oddlužení nejchudších rozvojových zemí

Cílem práce je podat ucelený přehled o multilaterálních oddlužovacích iniciativách (prováděných Mezinárodním měnovým fondem, Světovou bankou a dalšími regionálními bankami). Tyto iniciativy usilují o snížení vnějšího dluhu kvalifikujících se chudých zemí a o redukci ekonomických i sociálních problémů, které z nadměrné zadluženosti vyplývají. Práce seznamuje čtenáře s účelem iniciativ, důvody vzniku, principy jejich fungování, ale i s vývojem oddlužování v minulosti a současnými trendy na poli oddlužení. Jedná se o poměrně aktuální tematiku, neboť zmíněné iniciativy fungují teprve od poloviny 90. let 20. století. Jádro práce tvoří doposud aplikované iniciativy: původní i rozšířená verze iniciativy Těžce zadlužené chudé země (HIPC I + II - Heavily Indebted Poor Countries) a nejnovější Multilaterální iniciativa za odpouštění dluhů (MDRI - Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative).

This thesis is focused on The World Bank, it's beginning, organisation and analysis of critique. This thesis begins with reasons for foundation, historical aspects and problems. This involved the world stage before Second World War and the beginning of the IBRD. The thesis continues with a frame look at the organization, projects, finance and the World Bank position. The study shows the righteousnees of critique, analyse it and interpret it. The remainder of the thesis is concerned about the decision power in the bank and it's consequences.

Postavení Světové banky v globálním světě a zhodnocení její pomoci dvěma konkrétním zemím - Mali a Kamerunu

Podstatou této práce je posouzení role Světové banky v rozvojových zemích a zhodnocení konkrétního projektu směřujícího do Mali a Kamerunu. Podstatná část práce je věnována programům Světové banky a nástrojům, které tato instituce používá k dosažení svých cílů. Cílem této práce je představit Světovou banku jako takovou a zároveň zhodnotit její činnost. Přínosem této práce by mělo být posouzení role Světové banky ve dvou konkrétních zemích ? co vlastně dokázala a zda byla její činnost úspěšná či nikoli. Tato práce usiluje o to, nedívat se na Světovou banku jen pozitivně, ale poukázat i na její chyby a nedostatky. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována problému byrokracie ve Světové bance.
