Quantum and tempo of population ageing process in the twelve countries of the former Soviet Union: Challenges, opportunities and public policies Abstract Population ageing is an omnipresent phenomenon which brings along unprecedented challenges to socio-economic development, especially to employment, social security and public health sectors. The broad goal of this doctoral thesis was to demonstrate that it is time to recognize the importance of population ageing and its dynamics even in the countries with relatively young population structures and to take urgent action through implementation of corresponding policy interventions in order to mitigate and eliminate the upcoming negative consequences and utilize potential opportunities. Research on population ageing in both more and less developed countries is abundant. However, amidst numerous studies, countries of the former Soviet Union remain largely overlooked. Besides, the quantum and tempo of population ageing have not been adequately addressed in the existing literature worldwide. The opportunities and barriers in the education of women in the Gambia

This paper discusses the education of women in the Gambia and delves into the opportunities and barriers in the education of the women folks gauging it from the enrolments rates, from primary to tertiary level in twelve (12) year duration from 2006 to 2017. This study explores the problems of education in the world, in Africa and Gambia. The research dug into women education conclusively reveal that there are cultural and psychological factors that affect the prospect of women in education. Thus, in many societies, social structures affect women from the individual, organisational, institutional and political levels. This study investigates these societal problems in the context of the situation in the Gambian to identify the pros and cons for women in education from levels of primary enrolment through secondary to the tertiary level. With the application of time series trend analysis in conjunction with the method of correlation analysis on the data collected. The findings came out conclusively that the psychological, socio-cultural and economic factors which must serve as an opportunity for women in their education in most of the cases, serve as barriers for women in their educational prospects in Gambia. The study discusses the problems and the opportunities drawn from the conceptual framework and theoretical background with a focus on the results as they relate to those psychological, socio-cultural and economic factors and made recommendations that can serve as an improvement on the opportunities and eliminate the barriers for women in their educational prospects.
Unused urban monuments – activation of the head of the Prague viaduct in Brno Urban planning and architectural study

First of all, the work should point out the possibilities of activating the non-functioning post-industrial area. The aim is to remove the “wedge” into the center and to bring missing urban activities to the site. For this purpose, I suggest the completion of a city blocks with a housing function, a square with a food market, a city park, and a connection to the surrounding of industrial buildings. The aim is to integrate the site into the city through the completion and rehabilitation of industrial houses. The great creative challenge is to preserve the genius loci of this post-industrial landscape.
Unused urban monuments – activation of the head of the Prague viaduct in Brno Urban planning and architectural study

The aim of the urban – architectural study is to connect the historic city centre with the so far problematic and neglected areas along to the viaduct via rehabilitation and conversion of industrial buildings and filling up the city structure with new volumes in order to integrate the area within the organism of the city. Creative efforts are supported by analysis of post-industrial cityscape generally and its problems. The focus will be on sustainable principles, connectivity, eco-friendly transport and creating quality public spaces.

The practical part is focused on the risk situations in a particular building company. Small and medium-sized enterprises together with start-ups are highly important in the nowadays economic environment. Such companies contribute raise of employment, stimulate the economic growth and innovation development. However, not all start-ups can survive more than five-year period. Support from government and private investors can help to overcome such problems. Moreover, SMEs internationalization and global functioning can support businesses during the tough times. The goal of the Master thesis is to analyze business environment for SMEs on the EU scale and to identify the opportunities and borders faced by SMEs. A more in-depth analysis is conducted on the example of three countries: Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. In order to get better picture of start-up procedures and companys operation, the example of business plan analyses for micro business is provided.
