The aim of this work is utilization of solar energy for electrical energy production focusing on photovoltaics. First, the principle, function and structure of photovoltaic cells is described. Then the current types of cells are introduced, followed by possibilities on how to increase the production of electrical energy from photovoltaic modules. Subsequently the connection methods between the photovoltaic systems and the network are discussed. The thesis is concluded by a design of a small scale photovoltaic system for a family house including an economic evaluation.
Off-grid system and container housing
Filka, Tomáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
This thesis sums up current possibilities of using renewable energy sources and addi-tional technologies which can be suitable for off-grid systems. Specifically, it describes the possibility of their application to the increasingly common container structures. The first part of this work contains information about history and present trends in the area of renewable energy sources and container housing. The second part shows a concept of such house, completely disconnected from the public grid. The results of this study allow basic insight into the problem and illustrate the practical application of acquired knowledge.
Heat Pump Supplied from Photovoltaic System
Kaděra, Jan ; Pěcha, Jiří (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
This thesis provides heat pump usage in heating mode, heating of potable water or cooling mode. The heat pump is connected with photovoltaic power plant. The main aim of this study is to create photovoltaic system connected with heat pump and present the results of an energetic and economic evaluation. The theoretical part describes principle function heat pumps, photovoltaic power plants and components. The study provides as well a description of heating systems with a heat pump used for space heating or cooling. In the practical part of this thesis was performed calculation of energy consumption in a building. Based on this data, has been selected a suitable heat pump. To reduce the energy consumption was designed a hybrid photovoltaic power plant with a battery accumulation. Utilization of electric energy from photovoltaic system was calculated. Solutions provide the option of the energy flow analysis in specific interval. Results are summarized in the energetic and economic evaluation. The proposed solution can be applied for reconstruction or construction of a new building, focused on usage of renewable resources and emissions reduction.
Optimation and Innovation of Family Houses Heating
Vafek, Petr ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to resume present types of heating in the family houses including new modern types, which gradually supply old unsuitable heating sources. Further, these types are compared and in the last part a technical-economical proposal of heating source for model house is made.
Heating systems with the use of renewable sources
Hrdličková, Petra ; Blasinski, Petr (referee) ; Formánek, Marian (advisor)
The thesis is interested in renewable energy sources and their use for heating systems of a multifuncti-onal building. It is a community centre including housing units for the elderly and medical facilities. The topic of the first part of the thesis is renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, water, biomass and geothermal energy and the equipment that uses these heat sources. The devices mentioned include pellet boiler, biogas plant and heat pumps. The second part focuses on the design of the heating, hot water and heat source. The second part includes drawings, a technical report and annexes. The third part is experimental and deals with the technical data obtained, from a cascade, of one ground-to-water type heat pump in Čejkovice.
Heat pumps for heating and hot service water preparation
Valášek, Martin ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is aimed to describe heating and water warming in the detached houses by basic technical devices and there are suggested various types of heat pumps for a particular object. These heat pumps are compared technically and economically. In the beginning of the thesis there is a summary of the possible ways of the house heating and water warming systems, such as heating by electric power, by gas, by solid fuel or the centrally distributed heating. Then the thesis concentrates on heat pumps. There are described various types of heat pumps, also their advantages and disadvantages. There were chosen four main types of heat pumps – air/water, air/air, water/water and earth/water – and with each type there’s constructed a plan for a low-energy house heating. This house is located in Vyškov and there’s thermal loss of 6 kWh and water-warming of a capacity of 260 l per day. At last there were used economical calculations, which shown, that the water/water heat pump has the shortest return rate in comparison with a gas-using heating system – 5 years. Considering the lifespan of the heat pumps – 10-20 years – all the heat pumps are profitable except for the air/air heat pump. The investment in this heat pump doesn’t return.
Reactive power changes at the TSO-DSO interconnection point by RES power factor regulation
Pololáník, Pavel ; Fiala, Zbyněk (referee) ; Ptáček, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the long-term development of active, and primarily reactive energy flow at 110/22 kV distribution transformation points in the E. ON distribution network. It compares two different areas (city vs. countryside), differing in type of used distribution network and in composition of decentralized energy resources. Another point of this thesis is to describe current controlling possibilities for decentralized resources installed to the voltage level of 22 kV considering reactive power compensation. Thesis introduces proposed methods and conditions used in remote mass controlling of power factor of decentralized resources. There is mentioned an evaluation of an already performed test whose purpose was to verify possibility of influencing reactive power at the interconnection point between distribution and transmission system. The factors causing the overflow reactive power were analysed. In this thesis were analysed factors, which causing overflow reactive power from distribution to the transmission system. This analysis will be the basis for future use of mass reactive power regulation.
Forming of solid pollutants from biomass
Havlínová, Denisa ; Štelcl, Otakar (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part is research and deals mainly with biomass and pollutants. In this section, we will find a two-dimensional distribution of biomass, a comparison of fuel forms and a discussion of basic pollutants with a focus on solid pollutants. The second part is experimental. It starts with a fuel laboratory, where the water, ash and heat content of the biofuels examined is determined. The following is an investigation of the dependence of the PM formation on the properties of the biomass, which was measured by the measurement of these PM by the filters in the collecting device, while the examined biofuels were gradually burned on the fireplace insert.
Photovoltaic, as an alternative source of electricity
Honka, Pavel ; Moskalík, Jiří (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The work deals with alternative sources of energy and it concentrates on a photovoltaic. There are represented the main types of solar cells, the principles of their functioning and methods of increasing their efficiency. There is also a summary of possibilities of connection of the photovoltaic system and related methods of energy accumulation. On the basis of above mentioned extent of information there is suggested a project of photovoltaic power station which supplies a holiday house by produced energy.
