Deduplication methods in databases

In the present work we study the record deduplication problem as an issue of data quality. We define duplicates as records having different syntax and the same semantics and which are representing the same real-world entity. The main goal of this work is to provide the overview of existing deduplication methods according to their requirements, results and usability. We focus on the comparison of two groups of record deduplication methods - with and without the domain knowledge. Therefore, the second part of this work is dedicated to the implementation of our method which does not utilize any domain knowledge and compare its results with the results of commercial tool deeply utilizing the domain knowledge.

Social and Health Services For Sexual Workers in Capital Prague; Existing and Missing

This thesis focuses on the findings of sex workers provided services in the Czech Republic and especially in the capital city Prague. It describes the different types of service, defines prostitution, its legislative basis, the historical development of approaches to the problems, and also theoretical approaches in social work focusing on the matching needs and service contracts. The practical part is then implemented survey among sex workers and district social workers. It aims to identify problem areas of sex workers, whether services adequately respond to them, or what service is in the list of missing. Finally, respondents' answers are evaluated from both groups and to create hypotheses about the "state service" and to draw the possible outcomes for practice. LNA for the APT signals receiver

This bachelor thesis is dealing with design, realization and optimization of the LNA (Lownoise amplifier) for receiving of APT signals from the NOAA weather satellites in 137 MHz – 138 MHz frequency band. The first part of this work is aimed on critical parameters of the amplifier and the filter circuits especially on a noise figure and a high selectivity. The next part of this project is about the particular concept and simulation of LNA by using the Ansoft Designer software. The printed circuit board is realized in the Cadsoft Eagle. The final part of this bachelor thesis is dealing with a production of such amplifier together with its measurement and testing in a real operation of receiving APT signals.

Smith Chart Visualization Tool

The objective of my bachelor thesis was to create a Smith chart visualization tool in computing environment MATLAB. I created an impedance Smith chart in graphical user interface which delineate parameters of basic line types. Parameters of transmission lines can be defined in the Smith chart as normalized impedance, reflection coefficient, normalized admittance or impedance in combination with line’s characteristic impedance. It is also possible to design simple matching circuits, e.g. with quarter-wave transformer, series stub, parallel stub or matching circuits with lumped elements.

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is description and design of low-noise RF amplifiers. This work is also focused on design and simulations of amplifier in Ansoft Designer software. In this thesis is in detail described design of amplifier ATF 54143, mainly focused on stability, biasing and noise matching. Suffix Trees Construction and Their Use in Bioinformatics

This work discusses problems of suffix trees implementation and their use in bioinformatics. There are given different sorts of algorithms for building suffix trees in this work. In the first place, it deals with the on-line method implementation for building suffix trees, proposed by E. Ukkonen and approximate string matching. That is made by application of dynamic programming principles, adapted for using suffix trees. Both of these methods are described by pseudocode and implemented in a work supplement.

Matching of a Turbocharger to a Combustion Engine

The master’s thesis deals with methods of matching of a turbocharger to a combustion engine and with the analysis of their mutual cooperation. Besides a methodology of analytical determination of the appropriate size for compressor and turbine stage, there was created a thermodynamic model of an engine that is to be used as a means of propulsion for a prototype single-seater for the competition Formula Student. Post processing of real engine data measured on a dyno helped to create a parameter database that could be used for validation of the thermodynamic engine model and for deeper understanding of the system’s internal processes.

Replacement of big diametral bearing at mounting of vertically lathe table

This dissertation deals with table seating at a vertical lathe made by TOSHULIN, a.s. The target is to design such table seating which would replace the existing seating solution with a cross bearing having better technical and economical parameters. The dissertation includes analysis of some chosen variants of table seating; this analysis has been done from several aspects and it is completed by the subsequent evaluation. After the results of multi criterion analysis have been evaluated, I performed calculation as well as designing of two table seating variants in the practical dissertation part.
