Comparation of the Actual Bike Fitting Systems for olympic distance triathlon (case study)
Veselý, Vít ; Kovářová, Lenka (advisor) ; Šafránek, Jiří (referee)
Title: Comparison of Current Methods of Cycling Set Up for Cycling Olympic triathlon (case study). Objectives:. The main aim of the thesis is to compare the subjective and objective performance of selected fitting settings. Methods: : In our work we compared three methods of cycling setting - theoretical methodology of calculation and individual dynamic methodology of Retül and Guru Fit Bike. We used the objective performance evaluation Spiroergometric stress test. We have rated the performance achieved at the level of aerobic and anaerobic threshold and then compared the maximum achieved parameters. The pedal technique was evaluated using the Wattbike SW. Comparison was performed using percentage points. Subjective assessment was carried out by means of a controlled interview. Results : We found that proband in the subjective evaluation better evaluated the methods of the Guru Fit Bike and Retül compared to the objective rating in which the theoretical method achieved the best results. Keywords: biomechanics, fitting, effectiveness of cycling, pedal technique, spiroergometry.
Water supply of scout camp by hydraulic ram
Růžička, Jakub ; Duchan, David (referee) ; Špano, Miroslav (advisor)
This work is dealing with water supply of a scout camp from Trusovický potok. The water is pumped with a ram pump to the water tank. The construction of the ram pump is simplified and it is collected from commonly available fittings and fixtures. The water from the tank is distributed by pipe network gravitationaly. Operating charakteristics of the hydraulic ram pump were measured in the laboratory.
Simulation and analysis of tests of Belle II vertex detector sensors
Bilka, Tadeáš ; Kvasnička, Peter (advisor) ; Drásal, Zbyněk (referee)
This master thesis describes development and analysis of simulation, reconstruction and alignment for tests of Belle II vertex detector sensors as well as alignment procedure for the vertex detector itself. The first goal is to develop and test software tools which would allow analysis of sensor tests within common Belle II software framework. The second goal is to prepare the alignment chain for the vertex detector, being essential component of the detector calibration. First part of the thesis describes the Belle II experiment and its vertex detector, as well as the experimental beam test of the sensors and the common software framework. The theory behind the used alignment procedure utilizing Millepede II for alignment and General Broken Lines for track fitting is explained. Second part of the thesis then summarizes software tools developed or used and the results reached with these tools with emphasis on the alignment.
Modelling of yield curves
Šmejkal, Jan ; Hurt, Jan (advisor) ; Zichová, Jitka (referee)
In practice, yield curves, i.e. plots of relation between yields and times to maturity for a group of comparable securities, are an important tool for assets and liabilities pricing as well as for financial decision making. The theoretical risk-free yield curve represents the term structure of interest rates that are used e.g. in insurance industry for pricing the liabilities, for which reserves are created, or also as a benchmark for pricing other assets in the market. When constructing the yield curve, it is not possible to observe yields of a group of assets for all maturities. That is why we use various mathematical methods which enable us to construct the yield curve also for unobserved maturities. In this thesis, some of these methods are introduced. The Svensson's method is one of the most important and frequently used ones. We use this method to derive the coupon curve from Czech government bonds aiming to construct the risk-free zero coupon yield curve. Later on, we use different weights for particular bonds trying to improve pricing of all the bonds based on the derived curve. Then, we also look for the curve that minimizes the mean squared error of estimated (compared to observed) prices. Because problems with liquidity can appear especially for long maturities, we apply all of the procedures to a...
Evolution of interplanetary coronal mass ejections
Lynnyk, Andrii ; Vandas, Marek (advisor) ; Přech, Lubomír (referee) ; Rušín, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Evolution of Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections Author: Andrii Lynnyk Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: RNDr. Marek Vandas, DrSc. e-mail address: vandas@ig.cas.cz Abstract: This thesis deals with deformation of the Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections (ICMEs) and their sub-class Magnetic Clouds (MCs) during their propagation in the Solar Wind (SW). The statistical study of the expanded MCs has shown that expansion greatly affects the MC internal magnetic field. We had shown that this influence is more clear for the MCs observed close to their axes. The study of the stand-off shock distance in front of the supersonic ICME confirms a smooth deformation of the ICMEs along their path from the Sun into interplanetary space. We observed that this deformation is increasing with the velocity of the ICME. This study also confirmed the difference in sheaths that are created in front of expanding and non-expanding ICMEs. We found that velocity distribution inside the MC is not uniform and it has large fluctuations. We found that the MC cross-section is usually strongly deformed. Keywords: interplanetary coronal mass ejection, magnetic cloud, magnetosheath, flux rope, magnetic field, shock, fitting
Synthesis of astronomical images
Sauer, Petr ; Babinec, Tomáš (referee) ; Červinka, Luděk (advisor)
The aim of this work is to create a program for fitting astronomical images. The input image is corrupted by atmospheric influences. The work describes the way the alignment and fitting methods. To select appropriately aligned images are used filtration method "Lucky imaging". The program is created in the "Matlab" and is controlled via a graphical user interface.
Internet library of methods and algorithms used for medical image registration
Koňařík, Jakub ; Fedra, Petr (referee) ; Peter, Roman (advisor)
Image registration is a procedure which is heading to search for a geometric transformation, which ensures same position, orientation and size of coresponding objects in pictures. How does these methods work? These methods and principies are explained in first part of this work. Second part of this work is aimed to explain theory about information systems and practical creation of the internet databaze. These practical part was realized in editorial system called Drupal.
Computational analysis of residual stresses in autofrettaged high pressure rails
Blaha, Jakub ; Petruška, Jindřich (referee) ; Vrbka, Jan (advisor)
The master‘s thesis is aimed on numerical simulation of autofrettage of high pressure fuel vessel – rail in Common Rail system. First there is described Chaboche model, which is later used for simulation of autofrettage. There are described different approaches which can be used to obtain sufficient material model. Then there is observed influence of these different approaches on stress state of rail within the process of autofrettage. Suitability of Chaboche model for autofrettage and re-autofrettage simulations is assessed by comparing with more complex Jiang model. In the end there is a study of influence of autofrettage pressure on different properties, especially on residual stresses.
Design and lay-out of high pressure pumping station.
Václavík, Tomáš ; Franc, Zdeněk (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of diploma thesis is design and lay-out of high pressure pumping station with plunger pumps for splash of scales from slabs of hot-rolled. Theoretic (introduction) part of this thesis contain description of formation of scales and description of ways how it is possible remove these scales. And this part contains also explication of effect of water jet on solid material. The practical part of diploma thesis is focused on design of pumping station including of dimensioning of machinery. Part of this work is also technical documentation for proposed pumping station and specification of main machines and devices.
Identification of antiresonances with the help of reciprocal technique
Kozánek, Jan ; Taupin, V.
The antiresonances can be very sensitive to some perturbations of the system and can be used in diagnostics and for the amelioration of the robustness of the control systems with respect to parameter variations. A simple identification technique showing how to determine the antiresonances (including some numerical results) is presented in this paper.
