Movement of the human body
Havelková, Gabriela ; Gebauer, Kurt (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
All through my bachelor's studies, I chose random subjects on single or not single subjects, and as I contemplated my selections in retrospect, I discovered connections between them that were not intended. I've learned that my entire work so far has been laced with the evolution of my personality, my emotions, in certain elements. My inner struggle is evident here. ...the subjects of my works were chosen random without any discernible emotional subtext, but still when I look at them, I see sculptures depicting my inner emotional development.

A content of the bachelor thesis is a theoretical reflection about possibilities of a painted depiction of a human figure and a phenomenon of a hanging picture. The theme of the figural painting is further applied to an educationally-therapeutic practice as an art activity subject for people with mental retardation. The work also contains a documentation of the author's own painting and its reflection. Key words: painting, human figure, stylization, expression, hanging picture, education, mental retardation Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Forest figuration
Jasparová, Lucie ; Bulava, Petr (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis Forest Figuration is set in the forest around Horní Loučky. In trees, trunks, uprooted roots and landscapes, I look for elements reminiscent of the human body. This process is recorded by various techniques. The whole work is accompanied by social separation, exacerbated by the pandemic of the Covid-19 disease, is based on closing in nature, watching natural cycles and respecting the landscape itself. The work is a collection of works within an exceptionally long time in the forest and is also an initiating moment for further development in later work.
(Now what?)
Šťastná, Kateřina ; Chamonikolasová, Kaliopi (referee) ; Gabriel, Michal (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor thesis is touch. The work builds on the fascination with touch, analyzes how different contents can be associated with a gesture that symbolizes something very subtle, fleeting and even fleeting, but at the same time can elicit a very intense and calmly long-lasting response. The output of the bachelor's thesis is a figural sculpture, the prototype of which is the author herself at the age of ten. By depicting a girl's body at an age when it is physically beginning to transform into a woman's body, I ephasizis the touch in its inconsistency, perhaps subtly uncertain the audience and raise questions focused on what the touch means to us.
MEDIATRE OF COMMUNICATION IN CONTEMPORARY PAINTING
Kopecká, Marie ; Pfeiffer, Jan (advisor) ; Kornatovský, Jiří (referee)
The content of this bachelor thesis is a comprehensive insight into the problematics of communication in art with the aim of application of specific theoretical principles into artistic experience with emphasis on the aesthetic education. Theoretical part of this thesis consists of two parts. First one is focusing on the historical development of the role of art in society, perception of art and starting points, which led artists to specific steps. The second part is focusing on the present. Here I mention the theoretical approaches to the issue of perception of art and visual communication, focus on what role the viewer plays in the process of communication and I analyze communication strategies of selected Czech contemporary artists. In the practical part I am dealing with approaches in my own art work, which is specific application of conclusions mentioned in the theoretical part. In this part I am focusing more on the process of my own work, on choices of particular themes, its specific rendition and following reflection with the aim of verification of particular effects of each medium, which should be integral part of every work in art. The didactic part contains theoretical starting points, which led to making didactic series and my own designed didactic series for the first degree of...

Playground
Haviarová, Kristína ; Sterec, Pavel (referee) ; Ambrůz, Jan (advisor)
In my work there is a great deal of handcuffing, conceptual approach to sculpture, space perception, aesthetic and intuitive work with material. I try to express a state that she can not always describe by words. All the knowledge and experience I have gained during my studies, I would like to apply to my bachelor work. Almost throughout my studies, I have been intensively engaged in plaster work as one of the basic sculptures. In exaggeration, we can talk about some obsession with the material. I deal with colorful but also structural deviations in different species. I work with it not only as a dense material but also as a material with a crust, but with a rough surface. It is some sort of rewinding into this material and through subtle objects and spatial installations I express the inner state, reaction to change and attitude to the environment. My final thesis will be a set of objects with interrelations but without a hierarchical arrangement. It will be about creating a stateless situation, variations in the state of a dead end. As part of the simple objects, gypsum "figures" will be the main actors of the already mentioned situation, with which they have to deal with themselves. I put in expectations that are never filled (static installation), a certain kind of tension occurs. However, gypsum does not have to play only the role of the main hero, it can be purely a part of an object based on aesthetic or sensual choice. I'm not trying to interact. The viewer is just an observer, the voyager who enters the frozen already. It can take the atmosphere and make a deliberate change into the situation of the main heroes of the work.
Figure portrayal in Czech painting of the second third of the 19 century in European context
Řezáč, Jan ; Prahl, Roman (advisor) ; Machalíková, Pavla (referee) ; Musil, Roman (referee)
In my Ph.D. Thesis I suggest methodological approach to the figural painting of the middle of the 19 century, creation of the Czech painter Josef Manes in particular. In this period figural artists still learned to copy historic models in both academic and non-academic institutions. But the figure starts to be also presented as identifying element of the society, newly establishing nations in particular. Also emancipation of artists and their effort for conceptual expression (self-representation) is reflected in the presented figural form. Painting of the European late romanticism is characterised by adoptions of Michelangelo's and manieristic way of portrayal of human body. Thus there is a remarkable shift from so far popular classical Raffaelo's renaissance figure. For Josef Manes, usually only graphic patterns were available. In this thesis I also analyse Manes's anthropomorfisations and his tendencies to deform anatomic proportions of depicted figures. I show that these features of Manes's art have social, mental and formal background. I aimed to find interpretations of Manes's artistic approach, probably influenced by ideas from Munich, Düsseldorf and Vienna. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
