Potential of renewable energy sources in the Republic of Belarus
Sarakavik, Ivan ; Adámek, Petr (advisor) ; Dobrylovský, Jiří (referee)
This thesis deals with the situation in the field of the renewable energy sources (RES) in the Republic of Belarus. It describes the current state of the economy and energy industry in Belarus. It also contains a description of the impact of political, economic and social factors on the development of the renewable energy sources. The aim of this work is to evaluate which renewable energy sources can be used in conditions of the Republic of Belarus and also determine the technical and economic potential of installation of the renewable energy sources in Belarus.
Renewable resources in the EU with focus on photovoltaics
Höll, Jakub ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Kašpar, Václav (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the energy situation in the European Union while focusing on renewable energy resources. Clasification of renewables, their history and use is described in the first part of the thesis. The second chapter is focused on the energy industry in the EU and the field of primary energy resources. It also analyzes the current situation, future and trends in the EU with relation to renewables. The final chapter deals only with the photovoltaic segment in the EU where is examined its history, current use and its perspectives, trends and potential in the future. The conclusion of this thesis is an analysis of the fotovoltaic situation in the Czech Republic, its progress and prediction for the future.
Financial analysis of Plynostav Pardubice holding a.s.
Pančáková, Alexandra ; Schönfeld, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Smrčka, Luboš (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is description and understanding of financial analysis. In the first part, we describe the basic concepts and characteristics of different types of financial analysis. The base of knowledge created in the previous parts supports the analysis of Czech energy company - Plynostav Pardubice holding stock company. Methodology of BtoB customer segmentation in the utilities on the Czech market
Filová, Andrea ; Koudelka, Jan (advisor)
Loyalty, improvement, better understanding of customers -- all these notions attract the interest and striving for improvement of many managers. The segmentation has become an indispensable part of path from a company to customers. Dividing market into distinctive groups allows a company to target customers in a better way. The energy industry in the Czech Republic is an example where the segmentation methodology is not working clearly, so entire organisations become disoriented as an effect of not clear B2B customer division. As there are not so many segmentation tools that would be made exclusively for an energy company, I decided to study this field and design a new one. In the first part, I will look into the energy industry specificities and functioning of the electricity market in order to understand the specifics of this industry on the Czech market. By looking into segmentation methods, particularly in the area of B2B, the important assumptions of the correct and effective segmentation will be discovered. In the second part, I applied the knowledge from the theoretical framework where the basic knowledge about the B2B market and the segmentation in this area were introduced. Moreover, the most appropriate variables of segmentation were grouped in the logical way. This knowledge will be used as a base for the creation of new segmentation methodology and application of the knowledge gained from the extensive research conducted abroad. All in all, the ultimate goal of my work is to create the new advanced segmentation methodology tool and to propose how the most suitable solutions can be designed.

Carbon Capture and Storage Technology in Energy Industry
Šulcová, Anna ; Melichar, Jan (advisor) ; Dvořák, Antonín (referee)
Given the growing worldwide interest in fossil fuels on one hand and mitigation of climate change on the other hand, it is necessary to research into new technologies as Carbon Capture and Storage. This technology became a matter of interest as an option to diminish greenhouse gas emissions of power plants. It is essential to find out about the costs of Carbon Capture and Storage and expected future costs of power plants with CCS. Impact of this techology is not only in the sphere of capital and operational costs, but it also influences power plant efficiency and fuel consumption in negative way. Analysis of reductions in the costs of this technology as a result of learning-by-doing is observed on Experience Curves. This study observes influence of CCS on costs of mainly PC, IGCC and NGCC type of power plant. CCS technology has positive impact not only on environment, but it is possible to assess Enhanced Oil, Methane or Gas Recovery, which can partly offset costs of this technology.
