The subject of this paper is a comparison of the economy and commercial relations of Ancient Greece with the European union. It is an analysis of the two economies and their way of establishing the business relations. The work explores the ancient civilization between 499 BC and 31 BC and the European Union, particularly in the years 1993 to 2012. The aim is to illustrate similar economic development of Ancient Greece, as the European nations have undergone hundreds of years later and to compare the maturity of Ancient Greece with the current state of the European Union.

Práce analyzuje specifika zemí skupiny BRIC (Brazílie, Rusko, Indie, Čína) a zabývá se konkrétně charakteristikou jednotlivých ekonomik a jejich vývoje, hospodářskou politikou jejich vlád i výhledy ekonomického vývoje do budoucna. Analyzuje také ekonomiky některých zemí (Jihoafrická republika, Turecko a Indonésie), které by mohly v budoucnosti do této skupiny patřit, a to jak vzhledem k dynamice jejich ekonomického vývoje, tak i díky nedávno zvýšenému hodnocení ratingových agentur. Práce se také pokouší identifikovat slabší a problematická místa všech výše zmíněných ekonomik, která by mohla jejich budoucí vývoj výrazněji poškodit.

Analysis of economic development of privatized banks in the Czech Republic in the period 1992-2010

The aim of the thesis is the analysis of economic development of banks, which were subject of the privatization process in the Czech Republic, mainly in pre- and post-privatization period. Based on this analysis, there should be identified factors which enabled to reach good economic results in close time interval after the sale of banks. Economic development of banks after the process of privatization proves the fact that their economic condition was not as bad as was presented before their sale. The research of bank development enables to check how was their real economic situation. Theoretic part of the thesis will deal with general characteristics of banking, theoretic approaches to the central banking and theories of free banking. Then there will be described basic columns of the economy transformation, among which belong changes of owner's laws, liberalization or stabilization. The target of the practical part is the analysis of economic bank development in the period 1992 -- 2010 where is considered Komerční banka, Česká spořitelna, Československá obchodní banka, Investiční a poštovní banka and Živnostenská banka. Method of the research will be the analysis of basic economic parameters describing economic bank development. The banks will be analysed in pre- and post-privatization phases.
Accession of Croatia to the EU

This bachelor thesis focuses on the changes in Croatia during the 21 years of their independence which led to accession of Croatia to the EU and presents the country as a 28th member of EU. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter explains the political development of Croatia since 1991 till today. The second one is focused on the economic development of the country. The final chapter concentrates itself on the accession negotiations of Croatia with EU, and describes the most important disputes which made the negotiations so slow. This bachleor thesis provides an answer to question if the Croatia is ready to be a new member of EU.

The influence of Francisco Franco on the spanish economy after the World War II.

The main theme of this thesis is associated with the person of Francisco Franco and his influence on political and economic situation in Spain after the World War II. Each chapter is dedicated to a specific period of Franco's rule. The thesis deals especially with following periods: period of international isolation between the years 1945-53, consequently it investigates the phase of escape from the international isolation between 1953-59 and in conclusion there is analysed the development of the economy and policy in Franco's Spain during the period of 1959-73 which includes so-called "Spanish miracle". In the thesis I will try to evaluate Franco's era from the economical point of view and I will study the influence of "Caudillo" on the spanish economy. One of my aims will be the typological classification of the regime based on economical and political theories. In my research I will focus on analysis of monographs, studies, published literature and I will also try to analyse some of the unpublished resources which were provided to me with Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Czech republic.
Norway, Iceland, Sweden: Economic development and the relationships to the Czech Republic

This thesis focuses on the general and economic characteristics of Norway, Iceland and Sweden. Analysis is made primarily of the economic situations of the individual countries and their relationships to the Czech Republic, focusing on economic development, principal areas of economic activity and foreign trade. The impact of these factors on the relationships of these countries to the Czech Republic is examined, specifically in the areas of the import/export commodity structure and the resulting balance of trade. The thesis also evaluates the effect of the global economic crisis on trade relations with the Czech Republic.
The Swedish economy in a period of boom and crisis at the beginning of the 3rd millennium

The thesis provides an analysis of Swedish economic development since the accession to the EU till present with emphasis on a period of boom and crisis at the beginning of the 3rd millennium. Basic macroeconomic indicators, such as GDP growth, inflation rate, public balance, general government debt, unemployment rate, foreign direct investment, current account of balance of payments are used to describe the economic development of Sweden. The first chapter focuses on the Swedish economy from the accession to the EU till the turn of the millennium. The second chapter deals with the Swedish economic development during the years 2000-2006. The third chapter describes the economic development of Sweden during the global economic crisis in 2007-2009 including selected issues related to the crisis.
