Modification of the rig for testing the bearings for space applications
Škubna, Michal ; Okál, Michal (referee) ; Košťál, David (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with design modification of current device, intended for function verification of rolling bearings under space conditions. Due to the larger dimensions of the newly tested bearing, the existing device cannot be used and therefore it is necessary to modify it. One of the main priorities is to use the most of existing components and maintain the torsional rigidity of the original device. The output of the work is an accompanying report and drawing documentation for production of newly designed components and drawing of full assembly of the device.

Dostál, Martin ; Dostál, Lukáš (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
Every machine needs to be maintained and controlled, if may work reliably during they service life. Big part of service life of expensive machines are those machines in operation. Vibration diagnostics is type of analysis, that doesn’t need removal of rotation machinery. The vibration, that are created by running machinery, are used as source of information about mode of operation. This master’s thesis contains theoretical analysis of vibration diagnostics and vibration measurements of a particular machine. This thesis contains 3D models of bearings and rotor asynchronous machine, which are created by software Autodesk Inventor 2014. Bearings vibration analysis of this models is performed by software Ansys Workbench.

Noise measurement of electric machines
Fodor, Viktor ; Vítek, Ondřej (referee) ; Janda, Marcel (advisor)
This work discusses the problem of generating noise in electrical rotating machines, engines. First we explain what noise and sound is, its characteristics, its distribution in machines. Then we discuss the possible sources of noise in electrical motors and the possible reduction of noise. To verify the theory mentioned in this work, we will execute a noise measuring on an induction engine. Further we realize a measurement of the operating curve of the machine. Finally, we describe various measurements.
Steam turbine for SMR
Guliš, Jan ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the design of condensing steam turbine for small modular reactor (SMR) with nominal heat power of 250 MW. Steam turbine is designed in two variants. The first variant operates with all the heat power of nuclear reactor. In the second variant the heat power is equally divided into two identical steam turbines so the designed turbine process half of the heat power. In the first part of the paper the haet balance diagrams with low pressure regeneration are proposed. In both cases the turbine has a total of four bleeds. Three bleeds for low pressure heaters and one bleed for degasification system in feed water tank. Both turbines are designed with an impulse stage and reaction blading. Turbine that processes all the heat power is designed without gearbox at nominal rpm of 3000, contains 15 stages and achieves a clamp power of 71,11 MW. Turbine that operates with half of the heat power is designed with a gearbox at nominal rpm of 4500, has 14 stages and clamp power of 34,91 MW. The consumption characteristics are created for both of designed steam turbines. Drawing of the turbine section is attached to the thesis.
Numerical simulation of oil flow in bearing housing
Zogata, Filip ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Řehák, Kamil (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with the development of a computational model of the bearing node, since in the development of a synchronous generator, great emphasis is placed on the proper design of the bearing node, as this complex component has a direct effect on the overall efficiency of the generator. A large number of engineering experiments need to be used to test on the physical model, but it is also necessary to test using the numerical model, as the production of the prototype itself for testing is very costly, and therefore it is advisable to verify the prototype itself before production by a series of numerical simulations. Another important feature is the possibility to investigate even unfavourable or even extreme conditions, which are already very difficult, sometimes impossible, to test physically in the laboratory, and these numerical simulations can be divided according to several parameters, but in the field of bearing nodes we mainly encounter structural, dynamic, temperature or flow problems. This thesis in particular is focused on establishing a basic overview of computational fluid dynamics in the oil flow domain, while this knowledge is used in practice, as another objective is to develop a numerical model of lubrication of the aforementioned bearing node. However, this is a very complex problem, and therefore a study is first carried out to investigate the key components, and only by gradually adding different elements is the numerical model created in the Particleworks software environment, while a sensitivity study is carried out focusing on particle size. Subsequently, the individual partial results are summarized in the conclusion of this paper.
Steam turbine for biomass heating plant
Cmajdálka, Ondřej ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design of a condensing steam turbine for a biomass block burning wood chips with one regulated take for a hot water heat exchanger. The temperature gradient for the hot water is 90/110 ° C. The thesis guides through the designing proces of a steam turbine from the thermal scheme proposed according to the specified parameters, through the design of the regulatory stage and the stage part of the turbine, including strength calculation, to the design of the compensating piston, seals system and bearings. Finally, the operating characteristic of the turbine is constructed.
Design of direct shift gearbox
Kliš, Vojtěch ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Řehák, Kamil (advisor)
This thesis deals with the conceptual design of a double clutch gearbox and the inspection of selected designed parts of this gearbox. The first part of the thesis is focused on the theory of automotive transmissions and analysis of already available double clutch gearboxes. The following is the conceptual design itself, which is based on the selected vehicle on which the transmission will be located and on driving resistances. Based on these default values, the gear graduation is selected, which affects the vehicle’s driving dynamics. With regard to the installation space, a conceptual arrangement of the gearbox is proposed. Furthermore, the thesis is focused on the basic design and calculations of individual functional components of the gearbox. The last part of the thesis is involved to the control of selected structural nodes using the finite element method in the ansys workbench software. The whole thesis describes the individual steps for the design of the basic concept of a double clutch gearbox and the design of their basic components.

Steam Turbine for the Waste to Energy
Janata, Petr ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the design of a condensing steam turbine for a waste incineration plant with regulated take for a heat exchanger, which has a heat output of 15 MWt and a temperature gradient of 60/90 °C. In the thesis, a thermal scheme was first designed, which was based on the required design parameters. The maximum mass flow of steam into the turbine is 38 t/h. The pressure and temperature of the admission steam is 37 bar and 440 °C. The degassing temperature is 105 °C and the cooling water temperature at the condenser inlet is 20 °C. The following is the design and thermodynamic calculation of the turbine flow channels. The first stage of the turbine is designed as a regulatory with equal pressure blades. The rest part of the turbine is designed with overpressure blades and is divided into 6 cones, in which there are a total of 27 stages. The strength inspection of the designed blade profiles was performed. A compensating piston and a gland system were designed. Finally, bearings for the rotor were designed and then the operating diagram of the turbine was constructed. The work is supplemented by a structural drawing of the longitudinal section of the turbine.
