The diploma thesis deals with ageing of population and its impact on consumption and living standard in the Czech republic. The thesis explores the selected indicators of living standard and compares development of incomes and spending of individual generations. In the thesis, there are used techniques of marketing research, specifically questionnaire and in-depth interviews. The output of the thesis is to evaluate living standard of seniors and expectation of young generations.

BALÁŽOVÁ, V.: Tourism Industry and Seniors in Selected Regions. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2019. The Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of improving the quality of life of seniors through tourism. The thesis is focused on the defining the tourism industry and its impact on a human, the rate of growth in the population, a senior and describing the age related difficulties. The importance of travelling is defined in the theoretical part of the thesis. Moreover, the reasons for changes in population are specified and the connection between the two mentioned issues is defined in this part as well. Assessment of the data gathered in the questionnaires is mentioned in the part dealing with empirical analysis. Findings of the research are provided in the conclusion. The main aim of the thesis is to create proposals tailored for the travel agencies in terms of meeting the needs of seniors associated with various types of tours.
Transition from Working Life to Retirement

The bachelor thesis was focused on the transition from active life to retirement. The topic of this work was very topical. It deals with adults in active working life who were preparing for the next stage of life, considering retirement options, or partially or fully continuing their employment. The thesis was divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts, describes the period of active aging and preparation for old age. Attention was paid to the pension system. Furthermore, the transition from working life to retirement pension was described, which describes retirement pension, its conditions of entitlement, necessary steps to obtain it and timing of departure. The aim of the thesis was to describe how people in pre-retirement age live their current life period, how they prepare for the post-employment and retirement periods, and what factors influence their decisions on termination of employment and retirement. To carry out the research part of the thesis was used qualitative type of research and semi-structured interview technique. The research sample was made up of people who are of pre-retirement age and are considering terminating or continuing their employment. The results were processed by the open coding method. The research was to determine whether people are thinking about preparing for old age and retirement life, what they are aware of the conditions for retirement, what decisions they make and what they expect from life after leaving employment. Work can serve as material for people approaching retirement age. It can help to specify indicators of transition from active life to retirement.
Implementation of the Concept of Active Ageing in a Retirement Home

This bachelor's thesis deals with an implementation of the concept of active ageing in a retirement home. The population is ageing in the Czech Republic which results in increasing demand for residential long-term care that should offer the possibility of active ageing and provide diverse activities corresponding with seniors' needs. Active ageing is researched by case study in specific retirement home. Semi-structural interviews and participant observation were used to collect primary data. Secondary data were obtained using the website of the retirement home. Thematic analysis served for identification of both positive and negative elements of active ageing in the retirement home. These elements are further described in detail in this bachelor's thesis. Potential solutions to problems and barriers that make successful activization of seniors impossible are outlined in the discussion.
Seniors activation strategy: from the perspective of Multiple Streams Framework

The theme of the diploma thesis is the policy-making process, specifically the process of making of the National Action Plan for Positive Ageing for the Period 2013 - 2017. It's about exploring its creation from the viewpoint of active members of the Government Council for Seniors and Population Ageing, who was discussing it at meetings. The theoretical framework - Multiple Streams Framework deals with the aspect of policy entrepreneurs. Using qualitative, semi-structured interviews and then analysis of qualitative data, it was possible to explore the means, used by policy entrepreneurs to promote their ideas at meetings. This diploma thesis does not only study the creation of an action plan, but also the identification of policy entrepreneurs, through document analysis. After that were analysed primary data from interviews with members of the Government Council for Seniors and Population Ageing, who had been appointed by The Ministry of labour and social affairs. The studied, strategic document is the answer to the demographic ageing phenomenon the population of the Czech Republic.
Elderly activization through social services system

The bachelor thesis deals with the activization of seniors in the system of social services. It focuses on issues in providing of activization services from the point of view of their providers. The key aim of the work is to discover and identify the main problems or weaknesses with strengths, opportunities and threats in the providing of social activization services for the elderly on the example of the Ústí Region. This issue is examined, in the work, on the basis of research interviews with providers of activization services for the elderly, further interviews with two experts at local and regional level. These data are compared and linked to data from relevant public policy documents dedicated to the area of the region and also to documents devoted generally to this issue at national level. This work is based on the theoretical and value points, namely the quality of life, active ageing, public policy cycle with a focus on the evaluation phase and ways of activization of seniors. Results from the Ústí Region clearly summarizes the SWOT analysis, which means that it finds not only gaps in providing of social activization services for the elderly but found strengths in providing of these services stand in contrast, too. Senior point in Havlíčkův Brod as a center of support and education in old age

This bachelor thesis focuses on contact places for seniors Senior Points and on education provided on these places. The thesis is theoretical, complemented by reflection and knowledge acquired from practise at a branch office in Havlíčkův Brod. In the introductory part of the thesis basic concepts of aging, preparation for old age, active aging and aspects influencing life quality in old age are discussed. The second part of the thesis describes senior education specifics and the general concept of Senior Point project with further details of activities at the branch office in Havlíčkův Brod. The main goal of the thesis is to describe Senior Point project and to evaluate its activities in context of senior education.
Development of the active aging concept in the Czech Republic in 2000-2016

Active aging is a frequently discussed issue in recent years due to the demographic aging of the population. The aim of this thesis is to map the development of the concept of active aging from its origin to the present (2000-2016). To meet the objectives there were done expert interviews and analysis of strategic documents and national action plans issued in a defined period. This thesis focuses on the development of the concept of active aging, specifically in the areas of education, employment, healthy aging and personal development. It turns out that the most important area of active aging is education that significantly affects other areas such as interest activities, longer working lives, engaging in social and cultural activities. Implementation of the concept of active aging takes place at several levels, at social level, at an individual level, or interconnection of these levels (multidimensional concept). The work is therefore focused on examining whether the concept of active aging in the Czech Republic is perceived rather as a tool for improving the quality of life of the senior, or whether it can be used as a tool to mitigate the effects of demographic aging. The work also shows that the development of active aging also affects how seniors are perceived in society (among other things)....
Acive ageing of the Czech Republic population in European context

Active ageing of the Czech Republic population in European context Abstract Population ageing is a global process. The active ageing concept aims to enhance life quality and expand participation in society. Active ageing index is a tool for policymakers. The purpose of index is obtaining evidences for public policies planning for older people. The first goal of this thesis is to explore the current situation of active ageing in the Czech Republic, and the second goal is to provide information of domains which do not reach their potential and to improve situation in these domains, that would enhance the life quality of elders. An alternative methodology of Active ageing index scores interpreting is presented in the thesis to support the second goal. The author considers Active ageing index to be an adequate tool for active ageing evaluation, however it does not provide sufficient information on what actions need to be taken to improve active ageing conditions. For this reason an alternative interpretation methodology is presented. The Czech Republic Active Ageing Index value is 34.4 point. It ranks the Czech Republic among slightly above average countries. Third Age education in Municipal library in Louny

The thesis' theoretical part focuses on resource research on topics: education of seniors, volunteering, communities, societies and library. In the practical part of this thesis, we focus on description of not-only educational work of Municipal library in Louny and the analysis of senior's attendance in culture using a custom survey. The survey was focused on middle-aged and older inhabitants in the town Louny, and developed, evaluated and collected by the author of this thesis. In the last part, we can find description of the collected data. Here it analytically evaluates and compares information about the socio-cultural activities in Louny, and offers the next step of development for management of the library.
