Applications of wavelet transform in Mathematica and Sage
Novotný, Radek ; Trzos, Michal (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis focuses on image processing using wavelet transform. The usage of wavelet transform is analysed especially for image compression and image noise reduction purposes. The analysis describes in detail aspects and application of the following wavelet transform methods: CWT, DWT, DTWT, 2D DWT. The thesis further explains the meaning of the mother wavelet and studies certain specific kinds of wavelets, kinds of thresholding and its purposes and also touches on the JPEG2000 standard. Mathematica and Sage software packages were used to design algorithms for image compression and image noise reduction, utilising relevant wavelet transform findings. The concluding part of the thesis compares the two software packages and results obtained using different algorithms.
Objects Classification in Images
Gabriel, Petr ; Petyovský, Petr (referee) ; Janáková, Ilona (advisor)
This master's thesis deal with problems of classification objects on the basis of atributes get from images. This thesis pertain to a branch of computer vision. Describe possible instruments of classification (e.g. neural networks, decision tree, etc.). Essential part is description objects by means of atributes. They are imputs to classifier. Practical part of this thesis deal with classification of object collection, which can be usually found at home (e.g. scissors, compact disc, sticky, etc.). Analyzed image is preprocessed , segmented by thresholding in HSV color map. Then defects caused by a segmentation are reconstructed by morfological operations. After are determined atribute values, which are imputs to classifier. Classifier has form of decision tree.
Real-Time Image Processing Algorithm Implementation
Rypák, Andrej ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
This Bachelor's Thesis was performed during a study stay at the École Supérieure d'Ingénieurs en Électronique et Électrotechnique Paris, France. In this project, I deal with designing program components for a rapid prototyping software called SynDEx that is used for automatic code generation, real-time application development and optimization for multicomponent mixed architectures. I briefly introduce this software. I present techniques I used to implement two different specific image processing chains and a displaying component. The chains perform image segmentation and labelling. In this project I deal with designing program components for a rapid prototyping software called SynDEx that is used for automatic code generation, real-time application development and optimization for multicomponent mixed architectures. Automatic detection of microcalcifications in mammogram images
Hývlová, Denisa ; Jakubíček, Roman (referee) ; Harabiš, Vratislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on detection of microcalcification in mammography images. The introduction describes connection between their presence and breast cancer, principle of mammography and the DICOM standard used in radiology. In the following part the methods used for microcalcification enhancement and segmentation are explained. Detection algorithm based on wavelet transform, morphological closing and thresholding was designed in MATLAB. For evaluation of the results a graphical user interface was developed and an algorithm for automatic evaluation of the success rate in annotated mammography database was implemented.
Software for Microscope Image Processing and Analysis
Pavlišta, Libor ; Odstrčilík, Jan (referee) ; Čmiel, Vratislav (advisor)
This project informs about the basic image processing on grayscale and binary images. The project deals with analyzing the data obtained. Acquaints with terms such as morphology and image segmentation. Acquired knowledge is applied to create a program to complete the processing of microscopic images in LabView programming environment with subsequent analysis and plotting of results into image. For a better idea supporting data about operation in progress are continuous images.
Monitoring Trends of Electrical Activity of the Heart Using Time-Frequency Decomposition
Čáp, Martin ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Provazník, Ivo (advisor)
Work is aimed at the time-frequency decomposition of a signal application for monitoring the EKG trend progression. Goal is to create algorithm which would watch changes in the ST segment in EKG recording and its realization in the Matlab program. Analyzed is substance of the origin of EKG and its measuring. For trend calculations after reading the signal is necessary to preprocess the signal, it consists of filtration and detection of necessary points of EKG signal. For taking apart, also filtration and measuring the signal is used wavelet transformation. Source of the data is biomedicine database Physionet. As an outcome of the algorithm are drawn ST segment trends for three recordings from three different patients and its comparison with reference method of ST qualification. For qualification of the heart stability, as a system, where designed methods watching differences in position of the maximal value in two-zone spectrum and the Poincare mapping method. Realized method is attached to this thesis.
Segmentation of the kidney from the renal perfusion MR image sequences
Jína, Miroslav ; Walek, Petr (referee) ; Malínský, Miloš (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with kidney segmentation in perfusion magnetic resonance image sequences. Kidney segmentation is carry out by a few methods such as regionbased techniques, deformable models, specimen-based methods, edge-oriented methods etc. The universal algorithm for patient kidney segmentation still does not exist. Proposed method is an active contour Snake, which is created in programming environment MatLab. Final contours are quantitatively and visually compared to manual kidney segmentation.
Thresholding rules for noise reduction in sound signals
Ráček, Tomáš ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Balík, Miroslav (advisor)
The master's thesis focuses on the study of algorithms dealing with noise separation from musical signal. The first chapter is an introduction into methods which are used for noise removal of the musical signal. Furthermore, this chapter describes theory to the issue, specifically a description of transformations for converting from time to frequency domain, and finally thresholding method of spectral coefficients is explained in detail. The aim of the second chapter is an analysis of the proposed algorithm, which is engaged in testing. From the beginning fast algorithms of gradual transformation are described and then a detailed description of the algorithm as a whole. Later, this chapter deals with the selection of audio recordings and with preparation of these recordings for the actual testing. Finally, testing of audio samples is presented in the third chapter of this thesis. This chapter also concludes comparison of individual transformations, achieved results and review of algorithm.
