Mental health, its diagnosis and therapy in people with hearing impairment
Belšánová, Tereza ; Hradilová, Tereza (advisor) ; Kotvová, Miroslava (referee)
This thesis was created for the purpose of obtaining closer knowledge of the mental health of people with hearing impairment. At the same time, it also deals with psychological diagnostics and therapy for people with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part is divided into three thematic groups. The first area describes the issue of hearing impairment, its classification and more detailed information regarding prelingual and postlingual hearing impairments. Furthermore, it also describes the field of mental health, which focuses more precisely on the description of mental health in individual stages of life, the process of coping with a disability, and the psyche of the parents of a hearing-impaired child. The last segment of the theoretical part is a description of psychological intervention, which is further divided into psychological diagnosis and psychological therapy. In the practical part, there is a qualitative research investigation based on semi-structured interviews conducted with six informants with hearing loss aged 20-35. The results of this research investigation point to insufficient support for psychological diagnosis and therapy for people with hearing impairment in the Czech Republic. For example, the following problem areas were mentioned: lack of...

Malá, Michaela ; Horynová, Jana (advisor) ; Klenková, Jiřina (referee)
This diploma thesis is dedicated to developmental language disorder (DLD) and particularly to studying how well future teachers are informed about DLD. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical, both consisting of three chapters. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines developmental language disorder, and examines and presents the basic terminology. Further, the chapter describes the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms (both verbal and non-verbal) and classification of DLD. The second chapter examines the individual components related to diagnosing DLD. The third chapter describes the therapy, prognosis and prevention of DLD, as well as the specifics related to educating persons with DLD. The applied part of the thesis presents the results of a research survey conducted as a part of the thesis. The main objective of the survey was to determine how well the (under-)graduate students majoring in teaching in kindergartens and primary schools are informed about DLD in the course of their studies. The information was collected through surveys spread among the respondents. The collected data are processed and analyzed, the results are presented in the form of graphs and tables. Based on the data collected, the relevant hypotheses are tested. Another goal of the...

Analýza nejčastějších onemocnění u dojnic českého strakatého skotu ve vybraném chovu
Müller, Tomáš
This bachelor thesis deals with the most common diseases in dairy cows of Fleckvieh cattle on selected farm. Literary part informs about the basic properties of the disease, symptoms, etiology but also about the possibilities of diagnosis and therapy. The described diseases were selected on the basis of an annual analysis of a specific farm, for the purposes of which the medical documentation of dairy cows was inspected. The analysis included 4 categories of diseases and 3 of them were evaluated throughout the year 2021. Inflammation of the mammary gland was evaluated during individual months. The annual analysis shows that inflammation of the mammary gland was the most frequently recorded disease. Other commonly observed illnesses were inflammation of the hoofs, uterus and decreased rumen activity.
Immunomodulatory and differentiation properties of MSCs in a mouse model of the injured cornea and retina
Kössl, Jan ; Holáň, Vladimír (advisor) ; Vištejnová, Lucie (referee) ; Heissigerová, Jarmila (referee)
Stem cells, in general, represent the potential for treating many diseases and disorders that are currently difficult to treat or the therapy has many side effects. One of the stem cells widely investigated these days are mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). MSCs have the considerable immunomodulatory and regenerative potential for treating degenerative disorders and severe damage to various parts of the eye or other organs. Likewise, their application could serve as supportive therapy in corneal transplantation and other eye inflammatory conditions. In this study of immunomodulatory properties of MSCs, we have focused mainly on their ability to differentiate into cells of different tissue types (in our case, corneal epithelium and retina), their production of immunomodulatory molecules in the inflammatory environment, their ability to migrate to the site of the injury, and their local anti-inflammatory, regenerative, and anti-apoptotic effects. In addition, we tested the therapeutic effects of MSCs in a mouse model of ocular surface injury and a model of retinal degeneration. Finally, we investigated the mechanism of this effect in in vitro models with explants of these tissues. Limbal stem cells (LSCs) are already used to treat severe corneal damage as limbal stem cell deficiency. However, this...
Prospects of PTSD treatment in war veterans with psychadelic-assisted psychotherapy
Štefánik, Timotej ; Kazharski, Aliaksei (advisor) ; Kučera, Tomáš (referee)
The work examines the prospects of the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in veterans of war with the use of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. At the moment, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy is only partially legal. The term encompasses many substances - currently the only widely-used psychedelic dissociative administered in therapy is ketamine. The substance which is most likely to be the next in the implementation queue is MDMA and psilocybin. This work examines the history of psychedelics and the sources of stigma this term carries. It also examines a number of compelling studies that are pointing to the fact MDMA-assisted psychotherapy might be a useful tool in dealing with veteran PTSD. The empirical part of this research is of qualitative nature. With the use of in-depth interviews, the author gathered data on the state of affairs of the psychedelic research in the Czech Republic and was searching for the obstacles to the implementation of psychedelic therapy. The main conclusion is that psychedelic-assisted therapy faces obstacles in implementation in the form of lack of scientific knowledge on the subject on part of the public, and also faces legal and financial hurdles. The legal hurdles might be lifted in the coming years due to the movement forward in this regard. The...
Applied Behavior Analysis, Therapy in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
HOLCOVÁ, Stela
The Bachelor's thesis focuses on applied behavioural analysis and therapy for children suffering from autism spectrum disorder. The Bachelor's thesis aims at analysing the opinion of parents of children with ASD on applied behavioural analysis. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical section contains six chapters discussing the theoretical definition of autism spectrum disorders and applied behavioural analysis. The practical part consists of a quantitative research strategy using a questionnaire survey method. The respondents were the parents of children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. A total of 205 respondents participated in the research. The obtained data were assessed using descriptive statistics in MS Excel software; the hypotheses were tested using IBM SPSS statistical software applying t-test and ANOVA techniques. The research results indicated that the awareness of parents of children diagnosed with ASD about the applied behavioural analysis is relatively high; nevertheless, a significant percentage of respondents had never been informed about this approach. Based on the research results, the attitude of parents of children with ASD towards applied behavioural analysis appears to be neutral. Parents generally did not observe any effects when the applied behavioural analysis was used. The first hypothesis investigated whether any positive effects of applied behavioural analysis were influenced by the type of autism, while the second hypothesis tested whether the age of their child influenced parents' more positive attitudes towards applied behavioural analysis. However, neither hypothesis was confirmed; the results failed to indicate any statistically significant difference. The Bachelor's thesis may provide feedback to therapists or organisations practising applied behaviour analysis. It may also help raise awareness of the therapy for parents of children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
Therapies Used in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
CAPOUCHOVÁ, Andrea
The bachelor thesis deals with therapies used in children with autism spectrum disorder. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out what effect therapies have from the parents' point of view on the development of a child who has an autism spectrum disorder. Furthermore, this work focuses on what therapies children with autism spectrum disorder use and how often these children use therapies. Within the research, a qualitative research strategy was chosen. The qualitative research strategy used half-structured interviews with parents of children with autism spectrum disorder aged between 2 and 18 years. The selection of the research group was realized using the snowball method. Half-structured interviews were literally rewritten and then evaluated using open coding, and the codes were categorized. The results showed a positive effect of therapies on children with autism spectrum disorder. A positive influence means that the therapy has a positive effect on children with autism as certain changes are visible after completing the therapies. The biggest influence of therapies was found in communication, followed by imitation and understanding. In the past, nine therapies were used in parents of children with autism spectrum disorder, but ABA therapy was used the most and music therapy and zootherapy were also very popular. Currently, half of the communication partners do not use any therapy. However, seven therapies are used at this time, where videotraining of interactions is the most applied. The frequency of use of therapies in children with autism spectrum disorder varies, but often therapies are used daily or never. With the help of this bachelor thesis, I expanded my knowledge about the issue of autism spectrum disorders and the therapies that can be applied in children with autism. We can never say for sure which therapy is the most suitable for a child with autism spectrum disorder because each person is unique and responds to therapies differently. The bachelor thesis can serve as feedback for therapists working with children with autism spectrum disorder.
The physiotherapy after soft tissue surgery of the knee joint after injury
ROZŠAFNÁ, Markéta
The bachelor's thesis deals with physiotherapy after soft tissue surgery of the knee joint caused by an injury. The work is divided into two main parts, the theoretical part and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis first describes the anatomy, function, and kinesiology of the knee joint. The function of the soft tissues of the knee joint - ligaments and menisci - is also explained. Follows the pathophysiology of the knee joint, divided into congenital malformations and soft tissue injuries. At the end of the theoretical part of the work deals with the treatment of meniscus disorders and the treatment of disorders of the fibrous apparatus of the knee joint. The practical part was developed in the form of mixed research. The research group consisted of three probands - adult men aged 45-55 years, who met the conditions of this work. Two patients came to the Center of physiotherapy - Faculty of Health and Social sciences in České Budějovice, where I had the opportunity to work with them. The third patient came from my family and I met him at home. The practical part of the work consists of elaborated case reports of individual probands, input and output examinations, and a description of therapies. This work aimed to determine the effect of physiotherapy in patients after soft tissue injuries to the knee joint. The second goal was to find out how quickly the patient can return to the regime and normal life after the injury, or if there are any differences between the treatment rates of the athletic and non-athletic patients. I met probands regularly for 7-10 weeks, depending on the severity of their injury. The success of the therapy was evaluated according to the objective evaluation of the patient, by comparing the entrance and exit examinations and the subjective evaluation. Thanks to the evaluation of patients, it can be stated that both selected goals were met.
Comparison of the Origin and Course of Gambling Addiction in Video Lottery Terminal Players and Betters
HAMHALTEROVÁ, Jana
The diploma thesis focuses on the comparison of the origin and course of gambling addiction in video lottery terminal players and bettors. The theoretical part focuses on pathological gambling, types of gambling and the distribution of bettors and players of video lottery terminals, for which sociodemographic data, origin and course are described. The next chapters specify the concepts of treatment, relapse, recurrence, prevention and self-limiting measures. Then, the gambling games that predominate abroad and their preventive measures are compared. In the practical part, attention is paid to the methodology used, results, discussion and conclusion. The aim of the thesis is to describe and compare the origin and course of player dependence between video lottery terminal players and bettors. Following the aim of the thesis, two research questions have been chosen. The first question is, what is the course and origin of gambling addiction among video lottery terminal players? The second question is, what is the course and origin of gamblers' addiction? A qualitative research strategy is used to fulfil the goal. The method is a form of questioning with the technique of semi-structured interview and secondary data analysis. The set of informants consists of 12 players using a purposeful selection in the Prevent 99 Non-Substance Addiction Counselling Centre. It has been found that video lottery terminal players and bettors have similar characteristics of the course of gaming, but a different onset of gambling addiction. The reason may be online gaming. For common characters, there is a reason to replay. Different aspects can be seen in the origin, frequency or length of the overall game. In practice, it may be useful to know these details about groups of players and to work with them accordingly. The diploma thesis will be used for professionals who work or want to work with this target group and also for students.
