Stress-strain analysis of screw-bone system used in a plate-fixation of fractures
Kalnický, Jakub ; Valášek, Jiří (referee) ; Marcián, Petr (advisor)
In the field of orthopaedics and traumatology, a whole series of problems appear related to fracture fixation by means of various types of plates. Appropriate application of the plate is the difficult task that a doctor needs to deal with in the operating room. Regarding mechanics, the number of screws and their spacing have a major impact on the healing process. If there are too many screws or lack of them, the fracture does not heal properly. This can lead to implant failure. This work deals with stress-strain analysis of screws and bone tissue with a fracture fixed by LCP. It deals with the influence of different geometrical configurations of the screws on the stress, deformation and strain of the system. For this purpose, the computational modelling was used by means of the finite element method. Two computational models have been created, on which different screw arrangement was analysed. The first computational model represents diaphysis of the femur that is at the beginning of the healing process. For the four load models and eleven geometric configurations and number of the screws, a total of 44 computations were performed. The second computational model represents the distal part of the femur. Femoral geometry model was created based on CT (computed tomography) examination, geometric model of the plate was created by 3D scanning. Deformations and stresses were compared in the three geometric configurations of the screws during the healing process.

Gratza, Jonáš ; Požár, Michal (referee) ; Panáček, Josef (advisor)
The content of the thesis is solved by a road bridge on one span. The bridge is on the road II / 369 across the river Branná. In this work we were drawn from three studies which option was selected No.1. It is post-tensioned plate-grinder construction. Static model with Load Model and its effects was solved in Scia Engineer 15.2. Opinion are processed manually, according to EC. Wind load, snow and horizontal forces from traffic were neglected.
Cast-in-place tank of sewage plant
Čožík, Martin ; Šiška, Radek (referee) ; Strnad, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with the design and assessment of monolithic reinforced concrete structures tanks and wastewater treatment plants in accordance with applicable standards and drafting drawings. The tank is divided into individual solved parts: base plate, walls and ceiling plate. These parts are designed according to the ultimate limit states and serviceability. Resolves an assessment of the foundation structure according to the second geotechnical categories.
Production System Simulation and Analysis
Hromková, Ivana ; Křivka, Zbyněk (referee) ; Zendulka, Jaroslav (advisor)
The work deals with creating of simulation model of production system (foundry) and its analyze. Simulation of production systems is discussed in the introduction as well as basic principles and processes during simulation model making. Next chapter describes problems arise when such type of systems are solved. Next issue about virtual fabric is discussed. Information regarding virtual fabric has been obtained from Siemens conference. Follows views of simulation tools specialized on manufacturing systems. In last one chapter is taking up of implementation of simulation system. The whole process of creating of simulation model which consists of making conceptual model, abstract model, description of model making, analysis outcomes and experimentation with simulation model.
Solution technology of cooling tower component
Dobiáš, Radek ; Kubík, Roman (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The content of this diploma thesis is solution of production technology of cooling tower component. A model the cooling tower according to customer specifications is designed. There are selected 2 plates from steel construction that will be machined by plasma cutting. The technology of production of the plates is also proposed. Technical and economic evaluation of production compares 2 versions of plate production using unconventional metal cutting methods.
Strain-Stress analysis of pig femur
Legerský, Radek ; Valášek, Jiří (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the strain-stress analyses of the pig femoral bone in physiological and pathological condition. Pathological condition is determined by a significant defect in diaphysis of the bone fixed by using direct angular stable locking plate with screws. The thesis describes the creation of computational models with special focus on bone tissues models of material, which are based on analysis of digital images from computed tomography (CT). There are created and analyzed three types of computational models: the first one corresponds to physiological condition of femur, the second one to femur with significant defect and fixation plate and the third one to femur with significant defect, fixation plate and rod. Every model is loaded in three ways: the first of them simulating the experimental conditions of pressure testing of the femur, the second one bone stress in the sagittal plane and the third one stress by using load determined from probational release of the pig hind limb. Strain-stress states are determined by finite element method using Ansys computational system. Gained results of stress and strain are compared with experimental measurements. The thesis presents a basic idea of the mechanical behavior of porcine femur and porcine femur with significant bone defect.
The manufacturing of the aluminium-zinc coated steel sheet transformer
Sykáček, Jiří ; Šlais, Miroslav (referee) ; Císařová, Michaela (advisor)
The project developed in within the framework of Magister ´s studies of field M-STM is elaborated to meet customer requirements for manufacture of transformer station, which is intended for use in photovoltaic power station. Design and drawing documentation were prepared using 3D CAD System Solid Edge. Self-supporting frame of the transformer station welded from separate parts made from alu/zinc plates is in the form of a technological unit, which is equiped with electrical technology needed for safe and failure-free operation of the power station. It deals with technology of components production, including subsequent process of hard soldering and surface finishing. As the best solution was chosen processing of forming punching and using brake press. Chosen production methods are assessed not only form point of view of used technology, including the technical pitfalls associated with processing of alu/zinc plates, but also in terms of economic costs of manufacture throughout the transformer station. The forming processes are made using punching press TRUMPF TC200R, with rated shear force of 165 kN and brake press URSVIKEN Optiflex with rated compressive force 1 300 kN. Forming tools are optimally selected according to parameters of different types of parts. Finally, it compares the technical-economic aspects of production transformer station made of alu/zinc plates compared with whole-concrete construction of the station using bell-casting method.
