The focus of this bachelor thesis is on operative lease, primarily from the providing company's point of view. The thesis elaborates on its accounting and how the process works. It will also explain important relevant points, such as legal advantages and disadvantages of why you should buy cars on operative lease. The aim of the thesis is to help with understanding the accounting of the two most common types acquisition of the object of the operative lease in everyday life. All theoretical knowledge is applied to practical real-life examples.

The effects of changes in the reporting of leases under IFRS

The bachelor thesis deals with the reporting of leases under International financial reporting standards and the changes that will bring the newly issued IFRS 16, which was created in cooperation with the IASB and the FASB in the framework of the convergence process. The first part of the work is focused on the current arrangements for the reporting of leases under IAS 17 and describes the reasons for the formation of the convergence process. Further are described the ways of transition to the new standard and the new reporting rules of the lease. The practical part deals with the analysis of the annual reports of the airlines, when confirmed by the frequent use of leases, especially operating. The impact of the introduction of the new standard IFRS 16 is outlined on the example of a specific airline.

The aim of this thesis is to work out a topic regarding airliner acquisition and financing methods. Fleet planning is an important decision-making process because acquiring an aircraft is a capital-intensive investment. There are different methods of acquiring and financing and each of them have its advantages and disadvantages which complies different operational, tactical and strategical needs of an airline. The aim is also to analyze and describe current and forecast situation within the airline industry both globally and regionally. The last part is dedicated to flight fleet management instruments, such as performance, operational, financial metrics and indicators that helps an airline to operate its fleet efficiently, and a case study based upon a real ACMI contract.

The theoretical part includes characteristics of fixed assets, fundamental indicators of financial analysis and potential funding options. In the analytical part is evaluated the financial situation of company planning investment in a truck and its impact on the possibilities of financing, which are specified. In the suggestions part is suggested the suitable solution and its impacts on company are evaluated.

It consists of possibilities of financing analysis, comparation of proper options of financing, prediction of the interest rate development of 1M PRIBOR till the half of the year 2011, prediction of the cash flows and proposals for optimal way of acquisition of the warehouse.

The Proposal for an Appropriate Method of a Company Car Fleet Funding

The master‘s thesis concerns an analysis of the current estate of the company car fleet in the company ABB Ltd. and with a proposal of an appropriate method of its funding. The thesis considers the theoretical base of funding methods and account and tax aspects of lease funding. In the next part the current estate and current funding is analysed. Chosen leasing companies and their offers of financial and operational leasing are examined. In the suggestions part different methods of lease funding are compared. The monthly costs of each method of funding are reckoned and the appropriate method is suggested considering account and tax aspects. This method will decrease the costs of the company car fleet and will increase the efficiency of its controlling.

Lease reporting according to IFRS

In the final thesis I deal with problems of lease reporting according to effective framework of International Financing and Reporting Standards. In the thesis, which is divided into theoretical and practical part, I focus on impacts of leasing transactions primarily on the lessee side. In the theoretical part of thesis that is divided into three subchapters I summarize facts about leasing. The first two subchapters are based on standard IAS 17. I devote the third subchapter to preparation of new standard, which should replace IAS 17. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is to find out which way the European airlines use to finance their aircraft, I focus especially on using of both types of leasing. Therefore in the second part of the thesis I analyze annual reports of European aircrafts and examine how much these airlines exploit the possibility to finance the aircraft by leasing and how they report it in their annual reports.

This diploma thesis deals with business strategy of company Autocentrum Elán, Ltd. which should strengthen its competitiveness and provide direction and possibilities for the following period. This work is based on theoretical knowledge and describes analyses of company environment and mainly internal sources and company capabilities. The analytical part deals with the preparation of a company business strategy draft based mainly on analysis of current situation and its evaluation. The greatest emphasis is on development of operating leases when selling the new Škoda cars on which other stages and points of proposed strategy are based on.

The practical part compares different offers from leasing companies on financing a new vehicle Škoda Octavia forms consumer credit and financial leasing and then their valuation and choose the advantageous offer.

Comparison of Accounting and Tax Asspects of Financial Lease and Acquision of Fixed Tangible Assets with Bank Loan

This bachelor thesis discusses a long-term tangible asset and its financing possibilities, especially the possibilities of financing from sources that are not owned by the company. That means mainly financial lease, operating lease and loan.
The theoretical part is based on the studied literature that describes the laws that must be followed when negotiating lease or a loan.
The thesis furthermore describes the history of financial lease, as well as the functioning of financial lease and classification of financial lease.
Much of the bachelor thesis is devoted to highlighting the distinction between financial lease with the obligation to purchase the object of leasing and financial lease with option to purchase the object of leasing. This topic is devoted to a large piece of the practical part, where everything is explained by using a model example.
