This function generator operates in frequency range 10Hz – 100kHz and it is designed to generate square, triangle and sine waveforms with variable duty and output amplitude to 10Vpp. Function generator contains inputs for amplitude and frequency modulation.
Methodology for PLC evaluation in Smart Metering
Rusz, Martin ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is to acquire basic knowledge about PLC technology and to make a set of measurements focusing on the main parameters of this technology as well as to perform a set of short-term measurements of PLC communication in Smart Metering systems and to design a methodology for testing two real systems. Measurements were made in laboratory conditions on prepared tasks that covered all types of technology, both broadband and narrowband with one or more carriers. In addition, a methodology for testing PLC communications in Smart Metering systems was developed, which was applied to two systems using different technologies. On the basis of the results achieved, it was decided which of the two systems is more suitable for real use according to the methodology and set of short-term measurements.
Smart modul integrated in power plug
Rusz, Martin ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this work is focus on Powerline Communication technology and select a suitable type of broadband integrated circuit for the integration of a broadband communication module into an electrical installation box. In the introduction of this work, the Powerline Communication technology, the principle of communication, individual types of technology, factors influencing the quality of transmission, current possibilities and setting goals necessary for the design of the module are analyzed in detail. The result is a miniaturized functional prototype of a fully integrated broadband PLC modem in a wiring box.
The Optical Fibre Dispersion Effects on Multiplex Transmission Systems
Kyselák, Martin ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This doctoral thesis deals with present trend to turn up the bit rate of the optical fibres making use of wavelenght multiplex systems. There are new theoretical and practical problems caused by the new technologies. Except the known modal dispersion there exist problems caused by chromatical and polarization mode dispersion. In the opening of the thesis the known effects, which influence the payload signal, are introduced. The polarization mode dispersion has the main attention. Within the scope of this thesis there has been programmed the statistical calculator which can analyses the measured values of differential group delay by Monte Carlo calculation. Next meaningful output is the designating application of the optical routes. It is possible to mathematicaly unambiguously define the polarization mode dispersion by Jones, Stokes and Poynting vectors. This complicated calculations are mechanized and in the simulation application make possible to simulate the signification of the PMD influence at different input parameters. The thesis includes the study of the PMD modulation format impact with the results of simulations and confrontation with other scientists results. The significant output are the final practical results examinations, which can be implemented thanks to the possibility of using the FTB-5500B measuring device.
Classification of digital modulation type
Balada, Radek ; Kováč,, Michal (referee) ; Povalač, Karel (advisor)
The aim of master’s thesis is a classification of digital modulation type. The interest in modulation classification has been growing for last years. It has several possible roles in both civilian and military applications such as spectrum sensing, signal confirmation, interference identification, monitoring and so on. Modulation classification is an intermediate step between signal detection and successful demodulation. Therefore the known methods are based on different statistics obtained from received signals. These statistics can be derived from continuous time signals and they hold for sampled signals.
Digital television broadcasting according to standard DVB-H
Pospíchal, Martin ; Prokopec, Jan (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachelor work deals with problems of digital broadcast based on the standard DVB-H. It contains of the theoretic part and than there is the experimental part. The theoretic part compares the standard DVB-T with DVB-H in the introduction. Then comes after the theoretic explanatinon of the source coding of the picture and the standard for the coding the sound, channel coding and the modulation of the signal. Then it describes a scheme for metering the norm of DVB-H composed of a laboratory qauqing apparatuses and its brief describtion. Then comes after the description of the several metered and biased parameters and its impression on the quality and level of the recieved signal. The experimental part deals with the metering of the several parameters, that contains the description of the laid metering constellation diagrams, tables of the measured values, graphics dependences and evaluation of the concrete metering. The metering deals with the influence of the amplitude of the screened signal, phasic error, suppression carrier, amplitude imbalance, convolution code, guard interval and with the using the several modulations on a bit error rate BER, modulation error rate MER (S/N), the quality and the level of the received signal for the several TV channels.
Wireless lighting control
Pilmajer, Pavel ; Novotný, Radovan (referee) ; Levek, Vladimír (advisor)
Thesis deals with the issue of lighting technology control using wireless technology. Thesis includes a description of current possibilities of control light technology, methods of digital signal transmission using radio waves and protocols dealing with this issue are described. This thesis also contains a park aimed at the selection of suitable electronic components including the design of individual electronic blocks and printed circuit board. The conclusion of the thesis is the realization of electronic modules, including the creation of module software and measurement of achieved parameters under real conditions.
Transmission system for polymer optical fiber
Kubík, Martin ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Šporik, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with the transmission of signals via plastic optical fibers. First part contains basic principle and parameters transmission of light beam via fiber. The most common types of plastic optical fibers are analyzed, theirs characteristic parameters and trends in the development of this type of transmission medium are listed. In the second part is designed and implemented the proper integration of the optical transmitter and receiver to transmit signals via plastic optical fiber. The advantage of the implemented circuit is its modularity, so it is possible to further easily extend the system. Laboratory task is prepared for use system in the laboratory.
