Vaňková, Andrea ; Váchová, Alena (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on organic food and ecological agriculture problematics. The primary objective is to point out advantages and disadvantages of organic food and therefore, I mention comparison of organic and conventional food in the thesis. The practical part investigates attitudes and levels of knowledge of students of selected lyceums about organic food. The quantitative research (survey) was conducted at three lyceums in Prague. The statistical methods were used to verify the stated assumptions. While processing the survey I have learned that students struggle with the field of healthy nutrition than with the field of ecological agriculture and therefore, a proposal of healthy nutrition and organic food lecture has been chosen as the pedagogical output of the thesis. A tutoring presentation will focus on students of lyceums and its purpose will be to raise awareness about this problematic.

Work on the topic: The Actual view on Quality of Horticultural Products made in Organic Production, was compiled in 2014-2016 at the Department of Floriculture and Vegetable Growing of Mendel University in Brno. Organic horticulture was formed at the break of 19. - 20. cen. as an answer to negative consequence to environment and quality of food of industrialism and intensification. This type of horticulture is built on principles of considerate life between people and nature together. Graduate propagation of organic horticulture around the world were carried out to establish an international organization IFOAM, which are with Europe union the umbrella organization of organic agriculture system within the bounds of law, control and certification of companies and the products. After 1990 and after transition of power was organic horticulture propagated in Czechoslovakia and with IFOAM were authorized first allocations and first associations was created here. Organic production of food in this region has not so old history but it found many of supporters here. Quality of bio-products, theirs labelling and controls are strictly given by Commission regulations and on the other hand with the regulations of member states. Differences between products of organic or conventional productions are still the main point of studies. There were a lot of studies recently made which verify that in bio-products is lower incidence of pesticide residues and higher concentrations of antioxidants. In this case is actual need for uniformity of methodology and for other collection of experimental results which can bring definite conclusions. But it is generally known that content of plants reflected the environment where they were grown.

In thesis are comparing two cattle farms in area around Svratka, focussed on dairy cows of Czech Fleckvieh cattle. One is conventional farm and other is organic farm. Thesis is focused mainly on analysis of differences in volume of milk and its composition. Quantity of milk was monitored in monthly intervals for period of one year. Apart from milk quantity we observed contents of fat, protein and lactose. Number and day of lactation was also taken into account. Attention was given to composition of daily ration for dairy cows on organic farm, and we also monitored number of somatic cells and solids-non-fat in milk. It was found that dairy cows in organic farm breeding showed permanently lower performance of the animals, which was often statistically provable. Other factors differed depending on composition of daily ration and season. Content of fat and proteins had upward tendency in organic farm breeding. This bachelor thesis compares grain production efficiency in conventional and organic agricultural settings. The testing objects are wheat, barley, and rye. In the practical section of this work, the gained data are analyzed from the perspective of revenue, cost, and price from the years 2010 to 2015. From the research outcome the organic agriculture can ensure only about one half of the conventional agricultural production; on the other side, the price reaches 1.5 times higher values in the organic produced crops. The cost structure is different. Material cost appears higher under the conventional conditions. Manual labor and machinery use increase under the organic circumstances. Conventional agriculture shows more beneficial in reflection of the contribution margin and return on cost (ROC) calculations. However, when production subsidies are incorporated, organic agricultural production reaches more favorable economical results.
