Reconciliation of family and work life in healthcare
Mandíková, Marie ; Štangová, Věra (advisor) ; Tomšej, Jakub (referee)
Reconciliation of family and work life in healthcare Abstract Reconciliation of family and work life is currently a topic of fundamental importance, not only from the perspective of the individual, but also from the perspective of society, as it relates to many issues of societal importance, such as the promotion of equality between men and women on the labour market, increasing the employment of women and motivating young couples to start families in order to increase the birth rate. Although the topic of harmonization of work and family life is currently receiving relatively high attention, and the regulations of labour law and social security law contain a wide range of instruments supporting the reconciliation of family and work life, it shall be remembered that there are professions that are more accessible than others for harmonizing work and family life (especially, for instance, "white collar" jobs, with the possibility of relatively wide flexibility). However, there are also professions in which it is very difficult to imagine an employee working from home or using, for instance, flexible working hours, as the nature of that particular profession does not allow it. This diploma thesis is devoted to the conflict between the legal theory of the harmonization of family and work life with practice in a...
Care of a patient with mental disorder from the perspective of a health worker in a social care facility
HRÁDKOVÁ, Denisa
The bachelor thesis is titled "Care for patient with mental disabilities from the perspective of healthcare worker in a social care facility". The first aim was to map the application of healthcare workers' competencies within social facilities. The second aim was to identify the needs of patients with mental disabilities in a selected social facility. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the definition, etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, and degrees of mental disability are described. This part also includes the bio-psycho-social-spiritual needs of patients and addresses the provision of healthcare, the duties of healthcare personnel, and the social facility itself. The empirical part was processed through qualitative research using semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of nine nurses working in selected social facilities. To achieve the set objectives, seven research questions were created. In the qualitative research investigation of this bachelor thesis, it was found that nurses in social facilities do not have the competence to perform intravenous therapy. Their competencies are applied in administering oral medications and wound care. Furthermore, from the conducted interviews with the nurses, it was revealed that all of the bio-psycho-social-spiritual needs of patients are adequately met in social facilities. The output of the study is an informational material intended for the general public, nurses working with mentally disabled individuals, student education, and family members of persons with disabilities. Additionally, the thesis will serve as a basis for further possible quantitative research that would verify the data obtained or as a source of information in the reconstruction of health and social facility standards.

Health insurance of foreigners in the Czech Republic
Žabka, Jan ; Koldinská, Kristina (advisor) ; Tomšej, Jakub (referee)
Health insurance of foreigners in the Czech Republic Abstract The main topic of this master thesis is the issue of health insurance of foreigners in the Czech Republic. Its goal is not only an analysis of the current legal regulation of this insurance, but also proposals for its possible development in the future. The thesis is focused on foreigners primarily for the reason that, while Czech citizens' access to health insurance is relatively unproblematic, in the case of foreigners there are many complications and obstacles. In the first chapter, the author first deals with foreigners who participate in the public health insurance system. In this part, he mainly draws attention to the inappropriate legal regulation, which concerns the access of persons to public health insurance, as well as to the imperfect formulation of the conditions of application of one of the coordination regulations. In the second chapter, on the other hand, the author focuses on foreigners who do not participate in public health insurance and must therefore conclude commercial health insurance for foreigners. The chapter on commercial health insurance for foreigners is divided into two subsections. The first deals with basic health insurance for foreigners and the second with comprehensive health insurance for foreigners. The...
Health services from the point of view of value added tax
KUKRÁLOVÁ, Lucie
The thesis deals with value added tax and discusses it in terms of services provided in health care. The thesis specifies selected problems of organizations providing services in health care in terms of value added tax and offers such organizations in this area possible solutions. It contains a description of the key structural elements of value added tax, deals with the analysis of the most important judgments of the Court of Justice of the European Union, which are related to the health care and on their basis tries to define the health care and other related services precisely. The practical part of the work dealt with three model situations in which model returns for value added tax were constructed. For the creation of the value added tax returns were used internal data provided by selected health care facility. The first two model examples compared the advantages and disadvantages of applying the shortened coefficient and the complexity of its construction. The latest model example pointed to the need to exempt health services within uniform legislation and price regulation. Based on the results, it can be stated that it is advantageous for a health care facility to claim a reduced right to deduct, but it is always necessary to assess the amount of the reduced right to deduction within the entire calendar year. Another partial conclusion was that the exemption of health care was necessary, in order for the prices for this care to be sustainable, affordable and to meet its goal, especially to be provided for the protection of health and prevention.
Protection of Personal Data in Healthcare and New Technologies
Steindler, Daniel ; Exner, Jan (advisor) ; Kunertová, Tereza (referee)
Protection of Personal Data in Healthcare and New Technologies (Abstract) Abstract: Technological developments are advancing incomparably faster than legal developments can keep up with. It can be seen very intensively in healthcare, which affects the most important areas of all of our lives, and in which we also encounter very sensitive and important data. Due to this rapid process of change, there is a lack of the application of human rights in some areas. It is therefore necessary to constantly monitor whether the current legal framework is broad enough to be able to properly cover new technologies as well, thus securing the people who use these technologies. The "theoretically principled" viewpoint that GDPR accepted is showing to be lacking behind when we arrive at the clash between personal data protection legislation and the private sector, which is most often represented by the big technological companies with major share and influence over the personal data processing market. The legislation based on the system of commonly defined principles, values, and concepts, which was and still is efficiently used in most of our present legal system, cannot measure up with the technological advancements connected to the Big Data analytics. The modern technology can deduce any number of exact personal data...
The impact of the pandemic on women in healthcare
Pospíšilová, Marie
Healthcare workers have become the new heroes, or rather heroines, during the pandemic, as 85% of healthcare workers in the Czech Republic are women. The crisis has further exposed the problems associated with the difficulty of reconciling work in the health sector and caring for one's own family. Almost a third of nurses have children under the age of 12. The closure of schools and kindergartens, together with the recommendation not to use grandparental care because they belong to a risky age group, has confronted many nurses and doctors with the question of whether to give priority to their patients or their families. Although special care institutions were opened for their children, their use presented practical complications. The crisis situation associated with the pandemic showed that family care commitments (for children or other family members) are perceived as private and therefore invisible, and are still primarily considered to be women's issues. Research shows that if the possibility of reconciling work and care in the health sector is not satisfactorily addressed, there is a risk of an exodus of these much-needed female workers into other fields.

Testing the Use of Choice Defaults to Stimulate Behavior of Dancers
Skácelíková, Eva ; Chytilová, Julie (advisor) ; Landovská, Petra (referee)
The following thesis presents an experiment examining the effect of choice defaults on stretching of dancers. Stretching is one of possible injury prevention tools. The topic of the thesis is motivated by the importance of injury prevention in efforts to reduce public and private financial burden. Costs linked with injuries are shared among individuals and public finance sector. They are one of the components of government expenditures in the healthcare sector. We explored a sample of 202 participants aged 9-17. The treatment group was enrolled in an after-class stretching club as a default. The control group was exposed to opt-in condition, and they could sign up for the club. The participation in a club was voluntary for both groups. We observed whether participants were enrolled in a club and whether they stretched after class. The data were collected twice each week for a period of month. Analysis showed that the enrollment rate was 17.8 percentage points higher for the treatment group. Stretching rate was also higher for the treatment group, it differed by 11 percentage points. This result was not always statistically significant which might be caused by several limitations of the experiment. Next, we observed a difference of 19.3 percentage points in the effect of age on probability to...
