Consumer behaviour of foreign visitors in Prague

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of consumer behaviour of foreign visitors in Prague. Foreign visitor is understood as a consumer demanding not only goods but also services related to his stay in Prague. The main part of this thesis is dedicated to a questionnaire with the goal to identify the level and the structure of visitors´ expenditure in Prague.

Living Standards Measurement Using Income and Expenditure for the Czech Republic

(in English) The aim of this thesis is to show the differences in results regarding living standards when using income and expenditures in the Czech Republic. The main factor which leads to inaccuracy in the results when using only income is consumption smoothing. The thesis examines income and expenditure inequality and poverty between 2001 and 2011. Each measurement uses more measures (coefficients, indices, etc.) to gain the most comprehensive impression possible and to avoid possible deficiencies. Namely, the head count ratio, the aggregate poverty gap, the Sen index and the Takayama index for poverty, and the Gini coefficient, the coefficient of variation and the Theil index for measuring inequality are used. An analysis of the relationship between average income and expenditures shows that average monthly income was higher than expenditures. The trend in inequality was more or less the same for income and expenditures when considering the whole population (constant or increasing depending on the measure used); with regard to the inequality of pensioners, the results were quite different depending on the measure. An Analysis of Households Expenditure of Vietnamese Community living in the Czech Republic

The aim of the thesis is to describe the household expenditure of the Vietnamese who create the third largest ethnic group in the Czech Republic. We focus on how the house- hold budget is allocated to buy certain goods and services and what are the factors that determine its overall value. This work also contains some basic facts about the Viet- namese community such as the reasons for their migration, the nature of the society, the regions that are most inhabited by the Vietnamese and the famous centers of their gathering. The data used for analysis were obtained using a questionnaire that was compiled by the author and further distributed through out all significant centers of the Vietnamese living in the Czech Republic. Our findings about the distribution of expen- diture suggest that the food forms the largest share in total expenditure. In comparison with the Czech data, the Vietnamese spend significantly more on education. The reason why the Vietnamese put emphasis on this item is further described in more detail. The results of empirical part show that the facts such as the gender of the head of household, the permanent residence of a Vietnamese family in the Czech republic and further four household characteristics have a significant effect on the level of total expenditure. Bachelor thesis „Evaluation of the financial situation of the city and proposals for its improvement“ deals with the management of the city Hluk in the year 2009 – 2013. The first part of the thesis contains the theoretical basis of the work, which define the basic concepts of management of the municipality. The following section involves a brief characteristics of the city Hluk, SWOT analysis of the city and budget analysis of each year during the observed period. In the third part of this thesis I try to propose measures that would reduce spending or increase the city budget.

Property Valuation for Insurance Purposes - a Detached House in Lipovec Damaged in a Storm

The aim of my diploma thesis is to establish the expenditure on house insurance in a particular case, namely on a detached house in a village called Lipovec. The fundamental terms, which one has to be familiar with to understand the issues of the thesis, are illuminated in the introduction. The theoretical part is dedicated to the methods of evaluation and procedures focused on insurance business and evaluation. The particular area and the detached house are described in the practical part. Procedures stated in the theoretical part are used for conducting a survey of the particular case. Firstly, the value of the object before an insurance event (a hurricane, for instance) will be calculated. Secondly, the expenditure on refurbishment of the damaged features of the house will be calculated. Finally, considering the cost of refurbishment, the value of the object will be evaluated again. The diploma thesis might be used as an exemplary piece of work. Furthermore, it provides a reader with a deep insight into its issues.

A project developed during a magister´s study of a program M-STM Mechanical engineering and industrial management brings in a proposal of a technology of cold forging part out of 12 040 steel. The forging on a multi-stage processual automatic machine TPZK 25 with nominal forming power 5000 kN was projected based on consultations, study of literary resources a calculations.

Analysis of the Municipal Budget of selected Cities

The thesis aims to answer the question whether the budgets of Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in the years 2011 - 2015 correspond with objectives and needs of these cities and the differences in the structure of the individual budgets are caused by the different objectives that are determined by municipal policy. The specific goal is to evaluate the financial stability and indebtedness in regard to appointed goals. The analysis, synthesis and subsequent comparison of budgets, final accounts and the available data and informations about cities Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in years 2011-2015 was conducted. Based on these methods the hypothesis was confirmed that the municipality budgets of Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in years 2011-2015 correspond with the objectives set out in planning documents and with the needs of citizens. In fulfilling these appointed objectives cities not risk hazardous indebtedness and bad economic situation. It was further verified that the structure of the municipal budget Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in years 2011-2015 differs in regard to the appointed municipalities objectives.

Budget implementation in the specific conditions of the community Vestec within the periods 2010 - 2012

Bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of budget management of the town Vestec in the years 2010 -- 2012. It provides information on basic principles for the functioning of municipalities as territorial self-governing whole. It explains the problems of the budget system and finance communities. It describes the ongoing reform of accounting and also includes commentary on the impact of accounting reforms in selected municipalities. The theoretical knowledge are used for the practical part, which is focused on the analysis of the budget management of the town Vestec and above all implementation of its budget.
