Developing communication skills in children with Down Syndrome
ŠANDEROVÁ, Eva
This bachelor thesis is processed as a multiple case study considering children with Down syndrome. The main goal of the thesis is to develop communication skills of these children. The thesis itself is split into two parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the problematics of Down syndrome disease and its terminology. Next two sections of such part are dedicated to language levels and development of communication skills of those affected by the syndrome. In practical part of the thesis, the method of qualitative research is applied including techniques: analysis of professional literature, cases of studies and direct observation of the children. This part includes two cases of studies focused on preschoolers affected by Down syndrome. The main goal of the research is to propose exercises to help with developing communication skills of these children. Both examined children attend kindergartens, where one of these children is under control of speech and language therapist and the second one is surrounded by other children having similar problems and thus the teacher itself is taking care of them. With a collaboration of the headmaster of the kindergarten, I proposed several exercises to support development of speech skills. These include breathing exercises, exercises to improve speech organs motor skills, exercises to practice phonetics and vocabulary enlargement exercises. I also focused on the development of both gross and fine motor skills and perception development including visual and auditory perception.

Klement Bochořák: personality and work
Hradová, Jana ; Med, Jaroslav (referee) ; Wiendl, Jan (advisor)
The wistful poet Klement Bochořák (1910-1981), who decided to struggle for a poetic expression full of reconciliation and gratitude despite his "bitter maturing", belongs to the generation of "Spring Poetic Almanac". This author mentally resonated with impulse s coming from literature (Čep, Halas, Zahradníček, Mácha, Erben) and also from other inspiring areas (music, visual arts, folklore). He is usually considered to be one of catholic writers, a meditative lyricist of spiritual nature. The form of his work evokes concepts of Franciscan humility, tenderness, compassion, idealization, reflections of traditional folk Catholicism, and also the importance of connection with the specific region, i.e. the area surrounding Kunštát in Czech-Moravian Highlands. The said region forms a horizon of his poetic expression; it constitutes a literary space of homeland, the desired place, paradise on Earth. Bochořák inc1ines to an archetype of pilgrim; in the Čep's line he represents the poetry of dual home, being a poet of matutinal vision. In this work I focus (with respect to biographical details) on the introduction of Bochořák's literary work in its complexity, which encompasses not only his poetry, but also short prose, books for children, editorial work and translations (marginally). I shortly interpret these texts...

Exteriéry a interiéry ve virtuálních městech
Kmoch, Petr ; Sloup, Jaroslav (referee) ; Žára, Jiří (advisor)
Virtual Old Prague is a web-based application for browsing Prague's centre modelled in VRML. This thesis extends the project with support for interior areas and impostors, simplifi ed pieces of geometry used in place of distant models. Interiors are based on existing VOP structure. Automatic generation of interior walls is added, as well as ceilings and lighting. Interiors can be added to the existing model without the need to remodel existing houses. Depth-augmented impostors are introduced into the system. Their geometry is a fully 3D shape based on actual geometry they replace. This allows for better displaying of depth discontinuities compared to a traditional at impostor. A single texture, a pre-rendered image of replaced geometry, is used for the impostor, thus keeping its size small. A Java program is provided for automatic generation of impostors from the model. Two regimes are introduced for using impostors during browsing, with di erent visual quality and performance requirements. Results of performance tests are presented, comparing use of impostors to the original system.

Tool for editing PDDL projects
Chomut, Miroslav ; Plch, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dvořák, Filip (referee)
Title: Tool for editing PDDL projects Author: Miroslav Chomut Department / Institute: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor of the bachelor thesis: Mgr. Tomáš Plch Abstract: The Planning Domain Definition Language (PDDL) is one of standard languages used for defining planning domains and problems. PDDL is a syntactically complex language therefore developers often make syntax and semantic errors. Working with larger PDDL files is time consuming. Unlike imperative programming languages (e.g. C#, C++), there is no suitable widespread tool for editing PDDL. Our goal is to provide PDDL developers with tool for comfortable editing, which is known from tools for imperative programming languages (e.g. Microsoft Visual Studio). This thesis describes our project called PDDL Studio, which is capable of a) syntax highlighting, b) context sensitive code completion, c) error detection with Interactive Error Table, d) code collapsing, e) project management, f) XML export and import features, g) planner integration and h) common editor features (e.g. Bracket Matching, Line Counter). Our tool is multiplatform and it is designed to increase efficiency of PDDL developers and code readability. Keywords: Problem Domain Definition Language, Integrated Development Environment, editor, syntax checking,...

Výskyt kvasinek v silážích a jejich význam
Vaculíková, Barbora
The aim of the study was to assess the effect of yeast in silage and verify the fact that the additives will ensure inhibition of undesirable microorganisms. The literature review focused on the metabolism of yeast, their importance in silages limitations and possibilities. Model experiments were performed with peas with barley silage and with corn silage. The influence of additives on the final quality of the silage and their influence on the content of microorganisms, together with the quality of the fermentation process, was assessed. According to the provided measurements it can be argued that the use of additives was only partly due to the limitations of yeast and aerobic stability. Chemical preservatives based on organic acids favorably slowed the onset of secondary fermentation in peas with barley silage, even though there was no suppression of the number of yeast on this option. The negative correlation of yeast dry matter content was confirmed for the corn silage (r= 0.6219). In the silage with a chemical preservative (2,402 +- 0,775 log CFU/g) positive effect (P<0,05) on the limitation of yeast compared was detected to the control silage. Based on measurements of pH the degree of contamination of yeast cannot be evaluated. It was confirmed that even the best additive cannot guarantee quality and stable silage, if the principles of silage are not adhered to.

Study of mechanics as a search for interrelations
Höschl, Cyril
Author presents examples of analogous problems from various fields of mechanics of elastic solids which are solved using an identical mathematical model. Paper deals also with discrepancies between solutions obteined either by analytical or numerical methods. By the use of functional analysis, an interrelation is found between methods of solution of discrete and continuum models. The limitations of the linear theory of elsticity are discussed.

Právní možnosti kompenzace ztráty produkční funkce lesa vznikající v důsledku umístění veřejné technické infrastruktury
Raida, Lukáš
ABSTRACT The main goals of this thesis are to analyse the current laws that support public technical infrastructure development, despite limiting the forest management and legal institutions that provide compensation for such loss. Research based on analysing legal amendments related to developing the infrastructure, shows the impact on forest management and the possibility of economical compensation for such loss from the forest owner's point of view. The process of developing the infrastructure in forest land has been found transparent with adequate consideration to the forest owners. However, the compensation for the forest management limitation is not sufficient. The Rule of law in the Czech Republic keeps the previous restrictions of forest management where the infrastructure has been developed, without any compensation due to so-called law easements.

Quality of life in patients with COPD
KLÍMOVÁ, Pavlína
Theoretical foundation Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ranks among the most serious diseases in the population. The COPD prevalence is assumed at up to 7,7%. As the name shows, it is a chronic disease characteristic with typical symptoms including particularly cough, expectoration and noticeable dyspnoea. The symptoms may get worse above their common level in the course of the disease, which we call exacerbation. The presence of unpleasant breathing problems affects different life areas, restricting the individual when performing everyday activities. The patient's psyche is affected as well, including potential incidence of anxieties or depressions. Finally, the patient's subjectively perceived quality of life is significantly worsened. Goal of the thesis The goal of this thesis is to ascertain the areas in which COPD affects the quality of life. Hypotheses H1: COPD patients feel breathing problems. H2: COPD patients feel restrictions in the sphere of common daily activities. H3: COPD patients feel restrictions in the sphere of physical activity. H4: COPD patients feel restrictions in social sphere. H5: COPD patients experience negative feelings. H6: COPD patients perceive their quality of life as bad. Methodology The research investigation was implemented based on quantitative inquiry within the grant Project No. 120/2012/S "Reflection of life quality in nursing". The data collection was performed under use of quantitative method; the research investigation took place with the help of questionnaire technology. Two questionnaires were used: St. George's Respiratory Questionare Czech (SGRQ) and WHOQOL 100 generic standardized questionnaire. The questionnaires were distributed to persons with diagnosed chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The selection set was made up through quota selection that was observed. The quotas consisted in COPD diagnosis and the respondents' gender. The proportion of men and women was specified at 500 persons, 294 men and 206 women from that number. The research set consisted of 296 men and 207 women, i.e. 503 respondents in total. The investigation took place through addressing general practitioners, specialized outpatients' departments and chest disease wards. Results The results were processed with the help of the SASD program (statistic analysis of social data). The results can be divided into three groups. The first group includes the results characterizing the structure of the research set; the second group includes the graphically represented results, and the third group includes the results processed with the help of descriptive statistics. The last two groups include results from both questionnaires used. The results allowed us obtaining information on perception of breathing problems by the patients, on the sphere of common daily activities, on problems in the sphere of movement, on social sphere, on experiencing of negative feelings and on subjective perception of quality of life. Based on the results, the hypotheses were evaluated as follows: H1: COPD patients feel breathing problems confirmed, H2: COPD patients feel restrictions in the sphere of common daily activities - confirmed, H3: COPD patients feel restrictions in the sphere of physical activity not confirmed, H4: COPD patients feel restrictions in social sphere - not confirmed, H5: COPD patients experience negative feelings confirmed, and H6: COPD patients perceive their quality of life as bad - not confirmed. Conclusion The thesis provides comprehensive view of the spheres affecting the quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It may be used not only for nurses but also for the whole multidisciplinary team caring for the patient. The thesis may be used also as study material for nursing students. The results of the research investigation will be further presented at conferences and published in professional journals.
