Globalization - prerequisites, attributes and implications

This bachelor thesis deals with a current very significant word wide tendency, which is called globalization. It searches the prerequisites of its origin, historical emergence and phenomena, which are accompanying it all the time. An attention is also paid to its main attributes. The thesis is further concerned with international flows of trade, capital and with the movement of labour force together with migration. Finally there are introduced some implications caused by globalization.

Influence of Transnational Corporations on the Economies of Latin American Countries

Initially, the work describes the political and economical situation in the Latin American region with emphasis on the recent economic development of the region and the socioeconomic phenomena common for most local economies. The second part focuses on the general effects that transnational corporations' activities have on host economies. These effects are then demonstrated on concrete examples of Latin American countries. The third chapter has the form of a case study that deals with the role of transnational corporations during the economic development of Argentina with a stress on its last financial crisis (1999-2002).

Transnational corporations in the USA, their influence on american and world economy

This thesis deals with the transnational corporations in the USA. The first chapter is devoted to the general characteristics of multinational corporations in the world, the capital flows, mainly in the form of foreign direct investment and the current trends in this sphere. The second chapter is focused on the historical aspect of the development of the transnational companies in the world as well as in the United States. The last chapter analyzes the current situation, the position of the US based multinational companies in the world and their impact on the economies of individual countries and the domestic american economy. In conclusion all the sections are summarized with the outlook to the future.

Práce mapuje postavení transnacionálních korporací ve světové ekonomice. První část je úvodem do problematiky nadnárodních společností v té nejobecnější rovině, druhá kapitola popisuje geografickou a sektorovou koncentraci transnacionálních korporací a působení nadnárodních podniků ve specifickém oboru vědy a výzkumu, ve třetí části práce jsou uvedeny dopady existence transnacionálních společností na světovou ekonomiku.

The aim of this diploma work is to point out the importance, influence and activities of transnational corporations and to discuss the related trends in foreing direct investments (FDI) in the world economy. The basic questions which are to be discussed are the clarification of the term transnational corporation, how is it possible that these corportions became so successful, what is their role in the world economy and what are the trends in FDI flows in the past two decades.

TRANSNACIONÁLNÍ KORPORACE - NOVÉ FORMY PŮSOBENÍ VE SVĚTOVÉ EKONOMICE

Tato práce zkoumá fenomén transnacionálních korporací (TNK) a jejich postavení ve světě. Nejprve je zde sledován vznik TNK a jejich historický vývoj. V práci jsou dále uvedeny ekonomické teorie vztahující se ke zkoumané problematice a kritéria pro typologické rozčlenění TNK. Dále jsou analyzována dostupná empirická data, je posuzován vliv TNK na společnost a životní prostředí včetně praktických příkladů. Práce si rovněž všímá snah o regulaci TNK ze strany mezinárodních institucí a zmiňuje fondy suverénního majetku jako rostoucí globální protiváhu TNK.

Etický aspekt v éře globálního pohybu

Práce se zabývá fenoménem globalizace. Hledá odpověď na otázky: Kdo je beneficientem tohoto procesu a za jakých okolností? Kdo na něj doplácí a dotuje ho? Východiskem je zejména sociologicko-ekonomický kontext, který poukazuje na rozporuplnost tohoto procesu, během kterého nadnárodní koncerny získaly značný vliv, kterým ovlivňují světovou ekonomiku a nutí státy přizpůsobovat se jejich požadavkům. Pozornost věnuje dopadu symbiotického působení firem globálního významu a institucí jako Světová obchodní organizace, Mezinárodní měnový fond či Světová banka na své okolí v nejširším smyslu slova. Dále se zabývá nástroji, kterými lze chování globálních hráčů usměrňovat.

Transnacionální korporace a jejich postavení v české ekonomice

Tato práce popisuje roli transnacionálních korporací ve světové ekonomice, soustředí se na přímé zahraniční investice, vazby na hostitelské ekonomiky i sociální odpovědnost korporací. Druhá část je věnována postavení TNC v české ekonomice, přílivu PZI do ČR a srovnání TNC a domácích podniků. Poslední částí práce je případová studie zaměřená na fungování konkrétní nadnárodní společnosti, její vstup na zahraniční trhy a působení v České Republice.

Financování transnacionálních korporací (vybrané otázky)

Práce se zabývá transnacionálními korporacemi, zejména metodami jejich financování. Zaměřuje se hlavně na metody specifické pro tyto společnosti v porovnání s lokálně působícími podniky. V úvodu se zabývá obecnými charakteristikami transnacionálních korporací - jejich definováním, typy, statistickými údaji, jejich významem a vlivem na národní ekonomiky a etickými otázkami. V druhé části se zabývá strategiemi užívanými pro financování transnacionálních korporací, hlavně problematikou opatřování finančních zdrojů, centralizací finančních toků, využíváním inflačního vývoje a změn měnových kurzů a využíváním rozdílů v daňových systémech. Podrobněji je analyzována problematika multilateral nettingu, poolingu a transferových cen.
