On-line comunication and new strategy of brand Rimmel

The theme of the diploma thesis is new media, namely, websites and social networks. The aim of this paper is to highlight the development of Rimmel on-line strategy, assess the strengths and weaknesses against other competitors and suggest solutions for the future, which would take advantage of the potential offered by new media, especially to better target the audience. Established knowledge related to online brand Rimmel activity were analyzed and compared with the competition. The main objective of this work is to recommend, what direction should the on-line activities of Rimmel brand move in the future.

The thesis describes actual status of national economies and multinational corporations in the global economic system and its role in international trade; defines possibilities of growth in competitiveness of national economies and analises an extent to which multinational corporations can participate on this growth or be its source.

Mexico at the beginning of the new millennium: PEST analysis

The aim of this essay is a survey of the Mexican economy. Its strong points and weaknesses shall be found and the international competitiveness of the country will be explored. The instrument of the survey is PEST analysis. The PEST analysis helps to explore the economy from four points of view in order to get a complex image of the country. Several factors, political, economical, social and technological ones, have to be judged together because they influance each other. AT the end of description of each factor, there will be a review of the situation. Problems of the economy will be found, the estimation of future development will be made, eventually innovation suggestions will be placed.

Master Thesis studies integrated Supply Chains and their particularities in the automotive industry and searches for ways how to rationalize them. It aims to find means how to make the lead times shorter, with the focus on an automobile producer in an effort to increase its competitiveness. It is geared to identify points in its Supply Chain, where flaws and errors or delays in the process of customer order fulfillment might occur. It also concentrates on the possibility of managing customer demand. The Thesis then investigates circumstances that especially in the automotive do play a role and influence the lead time. Based on the established information and facts it proposes measures that resolve this problem with regard to current trends in the industry and also consider the requirements and expectations of customers buying a new car.

Special types of insurance companies as a competitive advantage to businesses and industry

This thesis has to select a type of insurance which will cause a competitive advantage to selected business. Selected type of insurance will cover losses caused by the damage suffered. Based on descriptions of selected companies - TSE spol. s r.o. and Mektec CZ s.r.o, has chosen business interruption insurance related to property insurance. For each company has created more tenders of insurance according to their requirements by companies Allianz, as and ČSOB, Inc. Both insured companies came out Allianz´s offer better due to lower cost. The TSE spol. s r.o. has accepted the recommended insurance offer unlike the Mektec CZ s.r.o. Thereby TSE spol. s.r.o has gained a competitive advantage.. Both insurated companies shares the same space, so there is a high probability that any disaster could hit both companies.

Cost estimation methodology of productivity LEAN utilized in supply chain in market conditions of 2nd decade of 21. century.

The doctoral thesis is dedicated to cost estimation analysis of mass and lean logistics system productivity including their comparison. The main focus is on methodology of cost estimation of currently used supply chains. The methodological part encompasses contemporary knowledge of productivity, philosophical background of Logistics and identification of today market conditions emphasizing the importance of knowledge as a competitive advantage. The logistics value and waste are identified as a critical aspect in analysing of productivity of current logistics system. Regarding the scope of today knowledge analysis, experimental questions and hypothesis related to utilisation and measuring efficiency lean logistics principals and tools are defined. Based on the hypothesis verification, new theory and methodology of productivity cost estimation in mass and lean logistics system applicable not only in automotive industry are established. The doctoral thesis reveals new spheres of logistics theory, scientifical research in the area of logistics systems productivity. The case of automotive supply chain supports the utilisation of proposed theory and methodology in practice.

Central bank - advantages and risks of its independence

This work is about central bank independence and about advantages and risks resulted from this position. The beginnig of the work is about history of central banking in the world and in our republic. The next capture is dedicated to the question of necessity of central banks and it uses especially the work of F.A.Hayek. It also describes his suggestion to implement the competition between private issuers of money. The last and the largest chapter is about central bank independence. After the definition of independence, there is a part concerned types of independence, mainly the legal and the actual one. The level of independence can be usually measured by few indexes. The way how to calculate them is also in the text of this work. Final part of the work is aimed on advantages and risks resulting from the independent status of central bank. The main advantage is represented by elimination of time inconsistency problem, on the other hand the main risk is the absence of responsibility of central bank for her policy.

Imperfect competition on the market of television broadcasters SR and CR

Rise of imperfect competition, more precisely its oligopoly form, has became very wide spreed. In certain extent we can say that this is a result of government regulation in different areas of national economy. Aim of this work was to analyze and compare television stations market in SR and CR and evaluate those interactions among channels in their respective economies, which lead to rise in the concrete situation on the market. Also to show some oportunietis, that might be exploited by new TV companies entering this industry. Most importent in this sector will by liberalization, which will lead to better form of competetiv advantage and will bring more costumers to this market. It partly explains horizont of digital broadcasting, which implementing currently runs in all Europe contries.

Three essays on public procurement

The core of thesis lays in quantitative analysis of microeconomic data on public procurement and alternative forms of dealing with public money. It consists of three essays with one common attribute: extensive groundwork with data, including overlaps into legal and technical disciplines. The fist essay examines the relationship between transparency of ownership structure and (i) profits of firms winning public procurement contracts and (ii) competition for the contracts and savings of the public authority. It identifies a significant advantage of firms with opaque ownership structure in terms of access to public money. It concludes with a possible explanation of conflict of interest and corruption, which might channel such advantages. The second essay proposes and tests a novel methodology for benchmarking of contracting authorities. The proposed rating measures a deviation from best practice recommendations in the areas of openness, competition and transparency. Indirectly it measures efficiency and corruption potential in public procurement. The pilot results of the methodology are provided and extensively discussed for a group of Czech municipalities.
