Influence of the division of Cyprus on Turkey’s accession to the EU

The bachelor thesis deals with an influence of divided Cyprus on Turkish accession to the EU. The aim of the work is to find out whether Cyprus is the real obstacle of the further enlargement. The text is divided into three sections. The first one attends to Cyprus from its far history to the present time, when the island is divided into two parts. The second one of the text deals with Turkey. It contains the significance of Turkey not only for the EU but also for other countries of the region and the world. The last third part is made up of positions of single interested members -- Cyprus, Turkey and the EU. All these participants have an influence on a possible reunification of the island and on the further fate of the EU enlargement.
Turkey and the European Union

The purpose of the following thesis is evaluation of relation evolution between Turkey and European Union. Thesis is divided into four main chapters in logical subsequent order. First chapter covers the historical and economic issues from the foundation of turkish republic up to the present. Second part deals with the development description of relations between the Turkey and the Union since the fifties when the first integration attempts took place. In 1995 these attempts became real when the customs union has been set and resulted in an initiation of accession negotiations during 2005. Third chapter is dedicated to the present problems connected with Turkey accession, particularly one so called "EU absorption capacity". Last section contains opinion stands of selected member countries, both from the political elites point of view as well as the output from the public opinion polls amongst EU and Turkey citizens.
Cultural differences in Czech-Turkish business co-operation and their influence

In the first part of my thesis there are some facts about recent economic situation in Turkey. The second part illustrates Turkish attitude to Islam, actual problems in this country and Turkey compared to the Czech Republic according to Geert Hofstede indices. The third part is about cultural aspects in Turkey -- hierarchy, honour, solidarity, relations, relativism in rule and time perception, indirect communication and trade negotiations. Last part of my thesis focuses on business co-operation between Turkey and the Czech Republic.
Turkey-another member of the European Union?

The objective of the paper is to assess the economic and political development of the Republic of Turkey from its establishment till present. Another aim of the paper is to answer the question: "What might be possible impacts of turkish accession to the European Union on the Turkish economy?" The first part of the paper addresses the introduction into the issue. The second part-the main part- focuses on the development of the Turkish economy with its main economic indicators. The last part presents the possible impacts of the accession of the Republic of Turkey to the European union in view of the economic issues.

This bachelor thesis deals with Turkey, which is these days considered as a new potential member of EU. The main goal of my thesis is to analyze turkish entrepreneurial and business environment. There are not mentioned only basic information about the country but also practical and operative advices about setting up and running a business in Turkey or threats and opportunities which this country offers. There are recorded also the personal experiences of two czech companies, which have been doing business with Turks for couple of years.
Accession of Turkey to the EU – economic and political aspects

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate Turkey as a potential EU member. My thesis is divided into four main parts. The first chapter describes the basic geographic information about Turkey, the main historical and political milestones and the importance of the position within the whole region. The second chapter deals with the development of relations between Turkey and the EU and describes the customs union. The third chapter assesses the current economic situation in the country. The last chapter concentrates on the political aspects of accession - the respect for democracy, minorities' status, the Cyprus issue and the impact of a possible accession of Turkey into EU.
Economic and political aspects of integration of Turkey into the EU.

This thesis in three chapters, objectively and impartially summarizes the key economic and political integration of Turkey into the EU and refers to any present or future pros and contras associated with joining the EU. First chapter focuses particularly on the economic situation of the country, current and future important energetic position of Turkey and Turkish demographic projections. Second chapter analyzes the army's role in the country and its potential ability to protect the EU external borders. The chapter also seeks to offer a comprehensive look at the circumstances and causes of the Cyprus question, turkish good-neighborly relations and the persistent instability in the underdeveloped regions of the country, coupled with Kurdish separatism in the southeast and the so-called "Armenian genocide". For better understanding of the benefits and risks of selected political and economic aspects are tables in the beginning of chapters. Final chapter outlines the current situation of Turkey's accession process, briefly acquainted with the Copenhagen criteria, analyzing the Commission's progress report on Turkey in 2009 and finally outlines the probable developments of the possible variations of the Union and Turkey relation and describes the potential impacts on the EU and Turkey in case of refusal of membership.

The bachelor thesis focuses on the process of Turkey's preparations for possible accession to The European Union and puts emphasis on the current situation. The first chapter explains the economic development of Turkey since 2004 till today and mentions events that caused the accession negotiations to open. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the negotiations itself, illustrates arrangements Turkey has made and describes whether it meets the requirements of The European Commission regarding the implementation of acquis. The paper also provides an overview of the dissimilarities between Turkey and The EU which result in considerable obstacles to the progress of the negotiations.
Perspectives of European union enlargement - case study of Turkey

The thesis deals with a potential Turkey's enlargement of the European Union. The thesis deals especially with the eventual impact on member states and on the European Union as a whole. Main purpose of the thesis consists in the identification of aspects that together with the fulfilment of accession criteria are crucial for the decision-making in the European Union. At first the thesis presents the admission process and the conditions that every candidate state has to fulfil, then it analyses the gains of possible Turkish membership as seen by constructivists and rationalists and finally it features the attitudes of particular member states and important state representatives. The objective of the thesis was to prove that not only the fulfilment of the accession criteria is decisive for the European Union, but also the benefits and loses of such step for member states and for the European Union as a whole.

The bachelor thesis deals with economic and social differences between regions in Turkey. The aim of the work is to confirm that Turkey is a country with huge regional disparities and to describe and analyze the most problematic areas. The text is divided into three parts. The first chapter compares regions according to selected population, demographic, social and economic characteristics. The second chapter focuses on selected problems of regions. The third chapter analyzes the main reasons and results of regional disparities in Turkey and reveals the most possible perspectives of development in Turkey's regions, regarding to Turkey's candidature into the EU and current economic situation of Turkey.
