Specific grammatical features in Irish English
Mudrochová, Aneta ; Šaldová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Gráf, Tomáš (referee)
The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the description of specific morphological and syntactic features of Irish English. The list of non-standard features is based on contemporary literature and is comprehensive in number. The aim of this part is to provide a synchronic account of contemporary non-standard features which occur in the Republic of Ireland. The frequency of selected features is proved via the Irish branch of the International Corpus of English. The British National Corpus is used occasionally as a means of comparison with British English. In the practical part the non-standard features are traced in use. The list of specific features found in three plays by contemporary Irish dramatists is provided with a brief commentary. The specificity of these features is verified via works established in the field of the grammar of English.

Pictorial art in The return of the native by Thomas Hardy
Fantová, Jitka ; Beran, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Nováková, Soňa (referee)
The Return of the Native has proven to be a great example of the use of pictorial art in literature. Having been created in the middle of the second half of the 19th century, it became a mirror of the contemporary development of art. Not only does it use some principles from Academism, drawing heavily on the powerful impressions elicited by the sublime and the picturesque, but also it is inspired by Impressionism and a completely new point of view on the subject portrayed. Hardy is also influenced by the baroque play of light and shade, as well as by the symbolism of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Reading the novel is like going through a gallery where the subjects of all paintings of different styles are related to one plot. Hardy has shown us several ways of incorporating a clear visual image carrying a meaning into a text. Firstly, it can be a direct reference to a picture or a painter, which helps Hardy to create a more detailed image of a scene in the reader's head, in case he or she knows the picture or the painter. Secondly, he uses methods of artistic styles in portrayal of characters and scenes to enhance particular qualities. Most striking is his obsession with lighting, which binds the structure of the novel together. It allows for a very original style of writing that leaves a long-lasting...

The current situation of Social Services, comparation with the legal adjustment after January 1,2007.
SERBUSOVÁ, Martina
{\clqq}Everyone is equal before the law{\crqq} which applies also for the field of social services since 1st January 2007 because after many years of preparatory stages Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services entered in force. This act having been passed means a break through moment for social workers, social services providers as well as for the citizens and beneficiaries of social benefits and services. The paper is divided in a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part I dealt with the development of social services, introduction of the new Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services into our social system and I compared the allowance for attendance of a next of kin or other person according to Act n. 100/1998 Sb. On Social Welfare and the attendance allowance according to Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services. In the practical part I concentrated solely on the attendance allowance since, according to my point of view, this is the greatest change the new Act On Social Services brought about and it plays a very important part in this field. The research was carried out using the questionnaire research method. The questionnaire was filled out by social workers employed in the attendance allowance department at local authorities of communities with extended powers in South Bohemia. 57 questionnaires were handed out, 48 of which were in total used for the paper. Graphs were used to evaluate the research part. The goal of the paper was the assessment using the SWOT analysis of the allowance for attendance of a next of kin or other person according to Act n. 100/1998 Sb. On Social Welfare and the attendance allowance according to Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services. Regarding this goal the following hypothesis was set: Social workers consider the attendance allowance according to Act n. 108/2006 Sb. On Social Services offering more strong points and more opportunities than the allowance for attendance of a next of kin or other person according to Act n. 100/1998 Sb. On Social Welfare. Results of the carried out research confirm this hypothesis. In spite of other problems that are to be dealt with in connection with this Act, we can presume that the introduction of the attendance allowance into the system of social services was and shall be the right step.

Memoirs of the empress Catherine II. and Personal correspondence of Catherine the Great and prince Grigory Potemkin in Czech translations
Žídková, Ivana ; Oganesjanová, Danuše (referee) ; Rubáš, Stanislav (advisor)
The objective of this thesis is to compare the books II and II ... with their respective Czech translations. Unfortunately, the second publication is translated from a French original, and therefore we cannot analyze it. Empress Catherine II reigned between 1762 and 1796 and definitely belongs among significant rulers of the Russian empire. The introduction sketches out Catherine's character. We learn that she was quite well-read for her times, she had noble ideas and she was not in a hurry to realize them. She authored many tracts, theater plays, articles and her own memoirs. Those were meant to present her own persona, to justify her actions, and at the same time they were supposed to remain a permanent memory of the empress. Despite Catherine's stylistic ambitions, her writing does not reach the same artistic qualities as that of other writers. Her focus is on the content rather than on the form. That is also one of the characteristics of memoirs that belong to a documentary-artistic literature. Memoirs are likely to contain scholarly themes and that requires special preparation by the translator. The translator should not omit nor add anything and should provide explanation for difficult parts. We were interested in how this translator, Věra Amelová, approached the old-fashioned and challenging text...

History and narration. Palacký's "Dějiny" as a source of historical imagination of nation
Činátl, Kamil ; Šmahelová, Hana (advisor) ; Brabec, Jiří (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee)
This doctoral thesis mainly focuses on the narration of history and its culture creating potential - that is to say, its ability to form imagined communities. Primarily, it deals with the grand historiographic syntheses of national history (Michelet, Palacký, Lelewel etc.) emerging mainly in the 19th century, in which an important part was not played only by enlightenment criticism ad heuristics, but also by the traditional imaginative power of narrative. In the thesis this model of a "new" national historiography is particularly represented by Palacký's Dějiny národu českého v Čechách a na Moravě (The History of the Czech Nation in Bohemia and Moravia). The detailed narratological analysis of this work, which in many respects was the founding text of the modern Czech historical consciousness, attempts to illuminate to which extent the modern idea of nation was constituted by the historical imagination. Therefore, the analysis does not concentrate only on Palacký's The History, but also on the adjoining "gravitation field" of both historiographic and artistic representations of national history. The narratological point of view is employed also in the analysis of the mutual relations between historiographic narrative and historical fiction (historical novel). In many regards, the obscurity of the...

Comparison of Motor Coordination Tests for Pre-school Children
Nosková, Veronika ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Hojková, Klára (referee)
COMPARISON OF MOTOR d{OORDINATION TESTS FOR PRE- SCHOOL CHILDREN The pre-school child is in physiotherapy regarded as a unique, individua! being, with a completed postural development. With the help of play and individua! stimulation aids, the child is supposed to further elaborate on other skills dependent on gradual maturation of cerebellum and the overall development of his/her character. Majority of Czech physiotherapists do not employ the terminology defined by the concept of coordination abilities. The concept of motor abilities is currently not used either among Czech anthropomotorists. Particularly the coordination abilities as described by Hirtz in 1985 (and updated in 2002) are considered to be rather informative - non- metric. The tests applied in German research projects whose objective is to estimate the coordination quality in pre-school children do not include some important aspects that are crucial for coordinated locomotive activities, and thus also indispensable to diagnostics. Motoric testing, as conceived within the methods of the motodiagnostics approach, does not respect the chilďs individuality, and does not take into accoun the neurophysiologic principles of the central nervous system maturation. The coordination tests manuals are standardized on the basis of numerous...

Mauro Giuliani : Guitar Concertos
Zelinka, Aleš ; RAK, Štěpán (advisor) ; ZELENKA, Milan (referee)
In my thesis, I would like to emphasise to general consciousness relatively few played (but well known) guitar concertos of the guitar virtuoso and composer, living at the end of 18th century and the beginning of 19th, Mauro Giuliani. I would like to perform it in such a manner, that in the first part, I will set his musical personality into a context of his time and shortly describe his musical career and whereabouts, especially in a relation with many signifiant personalities from his surrounding, with who he has collaborated with, or got inspiration from, so that it influenced his work. In the next part, I would cite all the major fields of his work and evaluate them from today?s perspective as a performer. Technical requirements of his compositions are very individual and therefore the author is very valuable for a wide range of guitarists. Many of Giuliani?s compositions are very few known, so I would like to especially pick these up to attention, that I consider they don?t deserve to be quite forgotten or overlooked. Then, in the following chapter, I will analyse the 3 existing guitar concertos. That should be the core of my thesis. Especially, I would like to focus on 3rd concerto F-major op.70, originally written for the terz guitar. At the end, I will make an emphasis on the meaning of his concertos in the way, that I sum up the conclusions from the previous chapter. From the perspective of classical guitar literature are these concertos very valuable, because in comparison with some other instruments, we have a very few of them in general. Especially from this period of time and this quality. Aleš Zelinka

The image of villain in the "building" drama
Smetanová, Barbora ; JANOUŠEK, Pavel (advisor) ; BOKOVÁ, Marie (referee)
This thesis focuses on the characters of villains in the genre of ?výrobní? drama and drama of the village in years 1948 ? 1957. The content and form of a ?building? drama were firmly bond by strict standards that have been artificially created so the drama could spread the ideology of communism and became a tool of re-edcuation of the citizens of ČSR. The topics of ?building? drama were closely tied to political campaigns, which led to their transformation over time. It is interesting to follow this development. At the same time there are plays containing the same topics, the same intensity of the class conflict and the same type of the common enemy. In addition to the distribution of the characters into thematically similar groups, their description and their examples in drama, a majority of this thesis is devoted to the history and description of drama genres of the time. This procedure proved to be necessary to understand the development of characters and the growing class conflict. The bachelor thesis deals with the development of relatively short period of a ?building? drama, and it is through the characters of villains. It is somewhat of a first step for a more detailed study of this poetics. The ?building? drama has become almost forgotten form. It is understandable, given its schematism and slant it wouldn't be now possible to stage it, perhaps only as a theater experiment. As a reader with the knowledge of the historical development and, above all, knowing the crimes committed by the Communist party, which during the period studied reached their monstrous peak, I was not able to maintain the required distance. I doubt that it would be possible to anyone during these days. Still, I find exploring of this time and drama challenging, since only knowledge of history can avoid repeating the same mistakes in the present.

Movement and stagnation in Samuel Beckett's work
Kudrnová, Anna ; Wallace, Clare (referee) ; Pilný, Ondřej (advisor)
Upon encountering the dramas and shorter prosaic works of Samuel Beckett, the reader or spectator will probably soon notice, apart from other characteristic features, the exceptional number of characters that limp, have various foot defects and pains, have problems with locomotion and balance, or who are even legless. In other cases, external causes impede the protagonists from moving, as for example in the play Happy Days, where Winnie is stuck in a mound of earth. Incapability of movement and stagnation, whether voluntary or forced, does not appear merely on the physical level; hesitation, inability to decide or act despite an urge to do so are themes frequently occurring in Beckett's texts; when we think of these manifestations of impotence in abstract terms, we realise that they represent stagnation as well: the inability to progress from one situation to another, further from one attitude or mental state etc. The characters often experience the ancient dilemma of activity versus passivity in human life; in many cases, Beckett illustrates it on motion. Another level on which a certain form of immobility emerges is often the structure of a text; that is to say, the plot does not reach any conclusion; the situation presented therein, although usually close to unbearable, does not change, or becomes...

Red Dragon
Urza, Martin ; Jákl, Vojtěch (referee) ; Lukeš, Dan (advisor)
RDX2 Server is a program which allows operation of Red Dragon NeXt Generation game. This game is turn based online strategy with fantasy background and it can be simultaneously played by hundreds of thousands players. Red Dragon NeXt Generation is a continuation of Red Dragon 2 which in many aspects exceeds and enhances (in terms of game system and also in terms of performance i.e. possibility of server to seat much more players). Communication with server can be done e.g. via client, which is appended to this bachelor thesis, however is not part of it.
