Residua of Drugs in the Evironment - Interaction with Higher Plants
Jirák, Jaroslav ; Smrček, Stanislav (advisor) ; Moša, Marek (referee)
- 4 - Abstract The aim of this study was to carry out phytoextraction experiments using corn plants (Zea mays) and determine the phytoextraction efficiency for specific non-steroidal anti- inflammatory drugs and carbamazepine and their combinations. After 10 days of growth, a nutrient solution containing ibuprofene, naproxene, diclofenac and carbamazepine in concentrations ranging from 5 to 10 mg/L was added to hydrophonically cultivated plants. Nutrient solution samples were taken every 24 hours and the samples were then analysed using a HPLC/DAD system. At the end of the experiment, the experimental plants and roots were analysed for extractable residua using HPLC/DAD + FLD. The greatest phytoextraction efficiency was found for ibuprofene. The second and third most effective extraction was observed for naproxene and diclofenac, depending on the evaluation criteria. The lowest phytoextraction efficiency was observed for carbamazepine. With multi-component experiments, lower phytoextraction efficiency was found out for all substances with the exception of ibuprofene in combination with diclofenac and carbamazepine. The toxic impact of ibuprofene on plant transport mechanisms was also proven. The extractable residua analysis confirmed the ibuprofene's toxicity on plant transport mechanisms and also the...
Use of biomarkers for assessing environmental pollution by platinum group metals
Nedvědická, Lucie ; Řezáčová, Veronika (referee) ; Komendová, Renata (advisor)
This diploma thesis in the theoretical part analyses the characteristic feature of individual platinum group elements, their toxicity, anthropogenic sources and the presence of platinum group elements in the environment of the Czech Republic. In addition, there are specified types of bioindicators focusing mainly on lichens, mosses and needles. There are described individual bioindication techniques and pre-treatment of samples for platinum metals determination in bioindicators. The subject of the experimental part is to verify the sorption efficiency and ability of platinum and palladium using the SPE method and to determine the actual platinum metal contamination in selected localities in the city of Brno. There was also the additionally subject to verify the sorption potential of selected bioindicators and determination of the environmental pollution by platinum metals using the bag technique. In the experimental part, the bioindicators of moss Pleurozium schreberi, lichen Xanthoria parietina, lichen Flavoparmelia caperata and needles Pinus nigra were used.
Impacts of anthropogenic pollution of lead on the environment
Grund, Daniel ; Francová, Anna (advisor) ; Ouředníček, Petr (referee)
The scope of this bachelor´s thesis is to define the lead as a toxic element, its occurence and impact on the environment (water, soil, atmosphere), the causes and effects of pollution on living organisms, to summarize information of bio-indication and bio-indicators and describe the method for detection metal concentrations in environment from collected specimens of mosses, lichens and snow in the Ostrava area. Part of this bachelor´s thesis is an experimental evaluation of the environment by using the measured concentrations of lead and comparing the measured values with other authors.
Recultivation of Landscape in Ostrava and Karvina Region
Maťko, Marek ; Ing.Andrzej Santarius (referee) ; Kocmanová, Alena (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on description of problems in the enviroment, especially recultivaton works solving. In theoretical part observations pertain to environment, its damage in consequence by pit-coal mining and possibilities of financing of recultivating job orders are mentioned. Practical section is bents to society dealing with this questions. Subsequently also with particular order, for whitch a budget by help of a calculation programs for whole order is built-up. This budget is analyzed in terms of proposal of optimizing of items and subsequent savings.
Obchod s emisnými povolenkami v priemysel
Horvátová, Lenka
This bachelor thesis is focused on identifying and assessing the influence of existing market with emission allowances on the economy of the Slovak Republic. Through analysis of each trading period established by the Emission Trading sys-tem of European Union (EU ETS) impacts on environmental and economic area in the country will be examined. The thesis is further studying the reach of this kind of business activity on chosen companies in the cement industry. Evaluation of regulatory measures, their implementation and the overall importance of the existence of the EU ETS will be accompanied by individual analysis carried out on national and intercompany level.
Old environmental burdens
Dále hodnotím úspěšnost provedené sanace porovnáním litimních hodnot škodlivých látek v životním prostředí stanovených zadavatelem zakázky a výsledků, kterých dosáhla sanujcící firma.
