Childrenś nursing care with pneumonia
HRUŠKOVÁ, Lenka
Pneumonia still belongs to most frequent and most serious disease of child age. In the Czech Republic, approximately 30,000 children at the age within five years are attacked by pneumonia annually. In total, as many as 100,000 Czechs come down with pneumonia every year. Even today, a certain percentage of children die of pneumonia. The clinical picture of acute pneumonias has changed over the last years. The number of bacterial pneumonias has decreased whereas the number of viral ones has increased. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis contains classification and description of differences of pneumonias occurring in children; the persisting hazardous character of this disease is accentuated and the overview of the nursing care for children suffering from this disease is provided as well. The application part of the research determined 2 goals; on the one hand, to discover what nursing care for children with pneumonia is provided currently and on the other hand, the level of education and knowledge on the part of the parents of the children suffering from this disease in home environment. Based on the foregoing, 3 hypotheses were determined. H1: The nursing care for children with pneumonia focuses on specifics of the respective disease. H2: The parents of the children are educated with respect to nursing care for children with pneumonias in home environment. H3: The parents of the children are well-informed of the prevention against the disease - pneumonia. The data were collected by the method of quantitative research in two hospitals in Prague, namely in FN Motol (teaching hospital) and in Nemocnice Na Bulovce (hospital) on the paediatric wards. The quantitative research was executed by means of questionnaires for the nurses and for the parents of the children hospitalized on the paediatric wards of FN Motol and Nemocnice Na Bulovce. The research set consisted of the hospitalized children at the age of 0 to 19 and their parents. In addition to the nurses working on the paediatric wards of both the hospitals. Collection of data proceeded from January 2012 to March 2012. The research confirmed in practice that the nursing care is provided by the nurses at a relevant level that it is accommodated to the child's age and the ability of the parents to cope with the necessary tasks. Information, education, advice are provided regardless of the mostly short period of hospitalization of the child within sufficient extent. The research focused on the parents of the hospitalized children revealed that with respect to the child's health condition, the parents cooperate readily; they learn to cope with the tasks concerning care for the child in home environment before the child is released to home care. The research revealed that the weak side is the remembering of all the necessary facts. Here the parents would welcome more extensive printed material concerning the disease, home care and more detailed prevention. The results of the thesis can be used for the parents as well as the nursing personnel as the overview of the pneumonia disease in children and the nursing care devoted to such children as this issue is paid less attention in the information sources than in the case of adult patients, and a comprehensive overview containing a guide to care for child with pneumonia has not been published in an integral form yet. The output is the information booklet for the parents of the children with this disease, focused in particular on the care for the child.

Old age as a social event
PAVLIŠOVÁ, Ludmila
Abstract Old age as a social event The Old Age is a natural period of life. This period brings wisdom, insight, sense of fulfillment, but physical, mental and social changes occur at the same time. A retirement is a fundamental change in this period. How do these changes actually affect the senior life? Some individuals are not ready for these changes and they do not know what to do, how to cope with their Old Age. And therefore it is a very important thing not to underestimate the retirement preparation process. Attitudes of the majority population to the seniors are among others influenced also by the media which constitute key factors in the society involved in a social construction of the reality and in a socialization of all generations. The population ageing has an impact not only to intergenerational relationships but also to a subjective experience of the Old Age. The senior issues cannot be only reduced to the issue of the pension reform but there will be necessary to deal with the status of a senior in the society, the recognition of a senior contribution, questions of the their upbringing and education, a media presentation of the senior issues, an adaptation of services to the needs of the seniors, to the senior fashion, transportation, environment... The aim of my bachelor thesis was to acquaint with particular consequences of the retirement (coping with the retirement, positive and negative aspects of a pension, a health state and plans of seniors for the future). In the course of my work I respected a personality of each person and his or her attitude to the life. My research aim was to find out whether seniors perceive their retirement as a social event in the meaning of a change in their social status. The partial aim was to characterize factors that most influence the perception of the Old Age. I think that the aims were met. I chose a qualitative form of the research using a narrative dialogue method and an inquiry. The research sample consisted of seniors older than sixty five years who are retired and live in the region of Tábor. Results of my thesis show that the retirement preparation and adaption process is very important. In order to get to a gradual change of the lifestyle, a transitional phase between the unemployment and the retirement is necessary. Seniors need to familiarize with a new situation and how to cope with it. The senior economic situation is getting worse with the retirement as well. It is obvious that senior living standard has got its own social significance and that indicates, in a certain way, their social status. The results of the conducted research show that seniors perceive their position in the society negatively and they consider their retirement as a social event with a meaning of a change in their social status. A declaration of the above mentioned European Year for Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity is therefore considered to be a useful step in the process of the coping with consequences of demographic changes in the Czech Republic. The theme concerning seniors is currently very timely, because with the demographic development the number of seniors is still increasing not only in the Czech Republic but also in the whole Europe. The society warns about an inappropriate behavior of younger generation towards seniors. Therefore I believe that my thesis will serve to a creation of a more comprehensive picture of the Old Age from the perspective of the seniors.

Learning Exercises in English Textbooks
Dřímal, Daniel ; Kasíková, Hana (advisor) ; Valenta, Josef (referee)
The thesis deals with the issues connected to learning exercises in educational English students' textbooks. The main focus is based on the occurrence of the educational exercises analysis in these textbooks. In general, learning exercises develop two main branches - the language itself (specifically grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation) and language skills (speaking, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and writing). The attention is paid to what types of learning exercises usually appear and what exactly they develop in students' cognition and their language skills. The educational enrichment coming from these activities is very important for the students' cognitive development. At first, the theoretical part of each sub-branch is discussed. Afterwards, the emphasis is placed on the learning exercises themselves as these are essential components of the students' textbooks. The theoretical part is relatively extensive. It takes the fundamental proportion of the thesis and contains detailed descriptions. The explorative section is based on analysis of several English textbooks intended for students of the English language. It focuses on the proportion of language itself and the proportion of language skills. The thesis outcomes may contribute to the English learning exercises issues. In...

Title: Likelihood of confusion between trademarks Author: Jakub Kučera Department: Institute of Copyright, Industrial Property and Competition Law Supervisor: doc. JUDr. Vladimír Pítra Abstract: This master thesis deals with the likelihood of confusion between trademarks. The aim of this thesis is to analyse various factors, which decisive authority takes into account when assessing the likelihood of confusion between trademarks and due to the extensiveness of this issue the thesis focuses only on selected key aspects. The aim of this thesis is also to analyse the case law of the ECJ and the court regarding the likelihood of confusion on basis of which the Czech courts often decide. This thesis is divided into eight chapters, which contains several subchapters. The first chapter deals with current importance of trademarks and also with the term trademark as defined in Trademark Act and in the relevant EU legislation with regard to changes in definition of trademark due to the adoption of Directive of European parliament and Council (EU) 2015/2436 and Regulation of European parliament and Council (EU) 2015/2424. The second chapter deals with the legislation dealing with of likelihood of confusion as to the Czech level and EU level. This chapter also pays attention to various authorities that assess the...

Mišutka, Jozef
Title: Mathematical search engine Author: Jozef Mišutka Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. Leo Galamboš, Ph.D. Supervisor's e-mail address: leo.galambos@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: The WWW is dominated by search engines such as Google. They are inseparable part of everyday search for information. Theoretical research field interested in searching, the information retrieval, focuses mainly on the natural language constructs - words. During the last years the field has been extended to other searchable content as well. The world of mathematical knowledge on the WWW has grown enormously. The importance of a general mathematical search engine is clear. However, this research field had been abandoned until very recently. Despite the fact that an active ongoing research is in progress, few practical results have been presented. The main goal of this thesis is to fill this gap. A new mathematical search engine was proposed with the focus on applicability. As the only capable search engine of indexing WWW effectively is the full text search engine it was used as the basis. The mathematical extension was designed as an extension which allows it to exploit and use all the advantages of the full text search engine. Most of the mathematical documents do not contain semantic information. The...

The process of compilation and accepting of the civil code during the Meiji period
Kraus, Jan ; Sýkora, Jan (referee) ; Labus, David (advisor)
This work concerns itselť with o ne oť the aspects oť the modernization oť Japan during the Meiji Era (1868-1912), the establishment oť a Civil Code based on western lega! princip les, in a broad context oť the historical and socio-political situation of the said period. First, it explores the state oť lega! knowledge in Japan at the end of the previous historical period, the Tokugawa Era. As a result of the development during the centuries prior to that, it may be said that the Japanese view oť law became to be such that the law was overshadowed by the traditional pattern oť a rigid social structure, preferring over law the mutual relations among the people living in such a system. Being ťorced to cancel her isolation policy by an extensive outside pressure ťrom the worlďs powers, Japan starts to strive for a general modernization. The s o called U nequal treaties established in the last years of the rule oť the Tokugawa shogunate between Japan and several countries set it to an inferior position, and this situation continued unchanged in the ťollowing Meiji period. One of the prerequisites for the revision of these treaties was the establishment of a western-like lega! system with the Civil Code as one oť the important Codes of Law. However, the principles on which the Japanese and the western lega!...

Public support for research and development provided an indirect way in terms of SMEs with a focus on information assurance
Filipová, Vladimíra ; Drozen, František (advisor) ; Valder, Antonín (referee) ; Nedělník, Jan (referee)
Innovation is a critical factor of the economical development as it is the key source of a competitive advantage and brings an addend value of a concerete company (Zhang, 2O13); Technological innovation could be defined as an endogenous factor responding to economic challenges (McKenzie, 2OO8). Research and development provides innovations, whereas the production of research and development brings externalities. Externalities reduce the private return on investment as such, therefore research and development is an object of public support. Public support can be provided ether by direct or indirect form that includes primarily tax incentives. Small and medium-size enterprises play a key role in the innovation process, however they dispose limited resources for investments to research and development and also for administrative activities connected to tax incentive applications. Thus small and medium-size enterprises are more sensitive to associated administrative tasks. The objective of the thesis was set as follows: to contribute to the existing knowledge in the application of tax incentives and desing an appropriate tool for managerial support of tax incentives reporting in small and medium-size enterprises. This objective has been divided into the following sub-objectives: (1) identify issues related to the application of tax incentives for research and development in terms of small and medium-size enterprises and to compare them with reference research, carried out by Chittenden & Derregia (2O1O); (2) design a system to improve reporting of tax incentives in small and medium-size enterprises. A reference framework was provided to address the objective, the key findings are as follows: precise recognition of research and development activities and associated costs are crucial for an effective implementation of tax incentives (Billings et al., 2OO1); cost allocation in research and development activities is rather a complicated issue (Švejda et al., 2OO7, Godfrey & Hamilton, 2OO5), therefore a comprehensive reporting system shall be provided (Chittenden & Derregia, 2O1O) and these reporting systems should include accounting elements Bhiman (2OO6) and enable project division into phases (Jorgensen 2O1O). In accordance with the recommendation of Chittenden & Derregia (2O1O), Bourgeois and Eisenhardt (1988), Koners and Goffin (2OO7), Workman (1993) Singleton and Straits (2OO5), Morandi (2O11), Yin (2OO3) qualitative research based on structured questionnaires was chosen for exploring the first objective and case study for the second objective. The key findings of qualitative research based on structured questionnaires are: only top management and accountants were involved in the administration of tax incetives. Middle management and researchers were omitted, wherease in reporting of grant projects (realized with the direct support), they were fully involved. The case study research approved that a formalized system of management and reporting of research and development activities supports identification of a research project. Representative of a case company confirm that the formalized system of management and reporting supports decision making process and innovation performance, that corresponds to Bossink (2OO2). The main limitation of the research is the chosen method. The questionnaire survey was conducted in a selected sample of small and medium-size enterprises case study was carried out in a concrere company. The conclusions therefore can not be generalized. Further research can provide a more extensive survey that can be statistically generalize. Other possibity is the evaluation of a social impact as Galal & Wiener (2OO3) also suggest or description of differences in reporting research and development project realized without public support as Lokshin & Mohnen (2O12) recommend.

Application statistical methods for estimation customer lifetime value
Samuseva, Katsiaryna ; Vraná, Lenka (advisor) ; Sobíšek, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis pay attention on statistical methods managing relationship with customers and different approaches of estimation customer lifetime value for the company in long time period. It is an empirical type of bachelor thesis, where we will test the theoretical assumptions on the real data. During this paper we research and measure customers behavior in order to obtain quantitative outputs to adaptation marketing strategy, efficient allocation of resources and choosing key clients. On the basis of past and present behavior we simulate expected in future level of purchasing behavior and thus try to determine the most profitable target groups for high-quality application of marketing tools. Main purposes of thesis are describing various attitudes to modeling CLV, applying the model Pareto/NBD on real date of the company Práce pro Vás, to evaluate forecast applicability in practice. Following tasks will be resolved in this paper: to introduce advantages and disadvantages of each modeling CLV approach, to evaluate quality of Pareto/NBD model and to determine the advanced extensions of the research in this issue. There are various attitudes to estimation of CLV, which are described in theoretical chapters, but practical part of this paper focuses primarily on application of probability model Pareto/NBD. With the help of Pareto/NBD managers can get the information about future customers activity, i.e. expected number of transactions from real behavior a probability that customer will be active in observation period. In nowadays reality of overloaded market, almost in every business sector, every company should rely on quantitative base of marketing and choose target clients, on which to focus their marketing efforts. Exactly this need matches with described and applied in this bachelor thesis model Pareto/NBD, with it help we will estimate customer lifetime value for strategic decisions and managing relationship with customers. Finally, we will resolve continuous tasks and will achieve all the determined goals.

The Effects of Brand Extension Strategy, Beer Industry Case Study
Tomková, Michaela ; Machek, Martin (advisor) ; Hořáková, Veronika (referee)
Today there seems to be an increasing number of products similar to one another, especially on the fast-moving consumer goods market. Due to this recent trend, differentiation is necessary for companies to define their brand in relation to its competitors. One of the possibilities is the implementation of the brand extension strategy. The main objective of this master thesis is to investigate and analyze the effects of different types of brand extension strategies with the focus on the beer market. The first part of the thesis includes a thorough research of primary and secondary data, which provides insight into new trends and factors that influence the brand extension strategy and its success. The second part is more practical and is devoted to a case study of a Czech premium brand called Frisco. Given its increasing competition on the market, Frisco has recently changed its core strategy and extended portfolio.

Awareness of the population about a crisic intervetion in the Czech republic and in the Slovak republic
NAŠTICKÝ, Ĺubomír
ABSTRACT This bachelor´s thesis has got theoretical-empirical character. Theoretical part is divided into four chapters, the empirical part consists of one chapter. A list of literature and appendix complete this work. The first chapter is devoted to a crisis. It gives the definition of the term crisis and identification of reasons for such situation, explains the typology of various crises from several aspects. The second chapter concentrates on the course of crisis and on adaptation to the crisis in progress at different stages.Determinants affecting reaction to a crisis are mentioned here too. The third chapter is focused on the possibilities of both formal and informal.help in case of crisis. Special attention is paid to intervention in the course of crisis, i.e. to formal help in crisis, its different stages and forms. Important role in the course of crisis is played by an interventionist, a person working in crisis intervention. Therefore, one subchapter is devoted to the qualification and personality demands made on these people and the risks which the work of crisis interventionalist brings. Final theoretical chapter analyses the crisis originating from certain losses and crisis intervention during particular aspects of loss. Empirical part of this bachelor thesis is devoted to research oriented to getting information how the common adult population is informed about forms and possibilities of help and consultancy in crisis situation. The most extensive subchapter is devoted to the analysis and interpretation of established results of research work.
